    I was curious about the abandoned village you stumbled upon. Apparently it was called Potamy, it's also said to be referred to as "Little Paris" by some. The town dates back to Roman times, but the ornate building you saw near the entrance is a school built in 1800's. The inhabitants left during the population exchange with Greece in 1924, and the name of the village was changed to Başköy with the new inhabitants moving in. In 2011, someone in the village died due to a rock falling on their head. The village was declared a natural disaster zone, people were moved to a nearby town, and not much has been done since from what I gathered. There are apparently 21 churches and 14 houses under protection in the village, but that hasn't stopped the raids from treasure hunters (though I bet there's not much left to be raided at this point).

      This sentiment might come across awkward, but the word "Türk" means "followers of the eternal law". In Genghis Khan's (Also a follower of Töre) empire it is rumored that a naked woman wearing nothing but gold and jade could safely walk from Persia to China.
      Now, that is law and order.

    I can't help it, but I get very emotional from these videos.
    My Greek roots lay in Cappadocia. My grandparents from both sides came from Nigde. In 1923, there was a population exchange between Greece and Turkiye. The Christian Greeks who were living in the area for thousands of years had to leave everything behind and go to start a new life in Greece. Also the Muslims from Greece had to go back to Turkey.
    My grandparents were always very sad whenever they were talking about their homeland in Cappadocia. They were living peacefully with their Turkish neighbors.
    But unfortunately, war drove them away from their beloved lands and friends.
    Cappadocia has a special place in my heart. ❤
    Thank you, Noraly, for showing us these amazing places with so rich history. ❤

      As a Turk, I observe that we are very similar to the Greeks. There were many ethnic groups in the Ottoman Empire, but I think the Greeks and Turks were the most integrated and mixing during the empire. That's why today, these two peoples do not like each other the most. It's like a love-hate relationship : )

      The Greeks were influenced by the nationalist movement in France and revolted in 1820. In 1923, he was expelled because the Greeks occupied the city, isn't this quite normal? I love the Greeks, but let's not get caught up in politics.

      My Turkish family passed from Salonica to Aivali during the same population exchange. I grew up hearing their sad stories. It was a great tragedy for both Turks and Greeks. I hope we can build a better future... Cappadocia is uniquely beautiful. Hopefully, you will visit it one day.

    We all are students with our class teacher on a guided tour to Turkiye ... nothing else explains this fabulous vlog . One simply can't see any tourist destination in the same way as one sees in Noraly's vlogs. How many of us would have gone into the claustrophobic caves or explored the abandoned villages. How else could we have seen the bird's eye view of this historic landscape if not for the fabulous drone footage. And not surprisingly wherever Noraly goes her persona earns her a very warm welcome. Even the pets of the place make her feel home. Her radiant smile is always unmissable , through thick and thin. Simply fantastic entertainment, alas it only just lasts for a few miserly minutes. I wish it went on and on. Ride on Itchy Boots

IF the videos were longer, Noraly wouldn't be able to travel to get the footage and make the videos. Kind of a catch-22 situation. And I'm sure you realise this.But youre right about being on a class trip; it's history, geology, geography and sociology all in one!

      the video is absolutely stunning girl but I am going to make question about mentioned the carves dug out via Romans!
      Most of this places been carved out and populated by Persians befor Romans came over! Otherwise why would Romans has to head up this carved areas ! That means that there been ppl and specially achamenids people building many caves and underground cities already belonging to ppl s region ! As many original ones in iran (meymand)been founded a unique achamenied signature of civilisations! Not only to dug out caves but building the most valuable sculptures rocks buildings in world...
      So ofc as Romans were power tripping the persian empire ofcourse they had to head up the most populated and build ancient cities like here !otherwise why ppl would live there already??? It's logical right ? And history of this places dates back befor Christianity too. My critics about this announcement of u in this videos but it doesn't feel right ! A single switch of this can change the entire cevilisation history ! So its wrong
      With all respect ! I hope u undrestand that many underground cities still has been founded yet in Turkey that belongs to achamenid ppl ! It's archeology said

    Thank you, Noraly, for giving me such good memories of 50 years ago. My wife wanted a kilim (carpet) . We looked in many shops. The last one was in Ürgüp. When we spoke to the gentlemen, who assisted an author writing a book about kilims, an old stray dog entered the shop. We both stopped breathing , in those times not every Turkish gentlemen was dog friendly.
    We looked at each other.......when he harms the dog, we leave. But........he said: Hello Laila where have been, good dog. He told us the dog once had a broken paw and he paid the surgery.
    We bought a kilim for 1300 guilders and the book and it was sent to the Netherlands. The kilim was made by a young lady as a proof for her future husband. The seller called it a Box-Older-Piece. I hope they were happy together.

    From the routine of 8-5 workdays, I’ve found a sense of freedom through your travels. Riding in your backseat and experiencing every beautiful corner you visit brings us immense joy and a refreshing breath of life. Thank you, Noraly, for being such an incredible peace ambassador.
    You’ve also made me reflect on my own country. I feel a bit ashamed for not fully appreciating the beauty of Turkey, the land I was born in. It’s eye-opening to realize how often people remain unaware of the treasures in their own homeland. Turkey, as a crossroads of civilizations and an open-air museum, holds incredible history. Have you ever stepped into a place and marveled at how many generations before you walked the same path and touched the same stones? That thought alone is awe-inspiring. Thank you for sharing this journey and helping us rediscover the beauty and history that surrounds us.

    Another great trip, so much to learn and see in every country, people are so kind. I would hope teachers in America could show your channel to their classes. With all my travels across the world in the military the most friendly people were always the poorest. They would invite us to stay, show us gratitude and keep us safe. We would always leave stuff for them and help them do repairs on their vehicles and houses. Too bad some of the world do not treat their people so well. Thanks again Noraly. 👍😊❤️ 26:01

    So great to watch your hard work and calculations and design decisions paid off when you popped Frankie up from the ground. LOL I find myslef thinking of Moritz as well because he has a stake in this. He may have had concern over his beautiful gas tank being scuffed but it appears unscathed! I'm sure he knows Frankie will get damaged in some form or another on such an endeavor. Moritz put his reputation on the line in front of the world for the living legend, Itchy Boots. I have great respect for him for doing this, not to mention how he prepared the machine for her. Peace!

    A shift lever is cheap. The shift mechanism, inside the gearbox, is not so cheap. Because the shifter is so exposed and vulnerable, it is actually a good idea for it to be lightweight and bend easily. if it were really stout and strong, there would be much greater risk of much more serious damage to the internal shift mechanism. Make the cheap, easily replaced part absorb the impact.

    • @two-sense
      @two-sense 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Good point. Carrying a spare would be easy. Maybe a guard over it would be a good plan too. I know it's weight, but at least it's down low.

    • @JohnH0130
      @JohnH0130 29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@dotme-y4x Dot: All due respect, dude, but are you seriously suggesting the solution is that Noraly needs to ride offroad more carefully? I wasn't addressing anything she said, really, just pointing out that the part bent because it was designed to bend under force rather than damage the transmission. As someone who rode offroad in woods, dirt roads, and pipelines for a number of years, I can promise you no amount of caution is going to keep you from never having this sort of mishap,. It's inevitable if you ride long enough. Noraly is if anything an extremely careful and cautious offroad motorcyclist. These things happen.
      You could engineer some sort of guard to protect the shift lever, but always and only at the cost of making it more awkward to use. When you're riding as much as she does, the better solution is just to accept that it will get bent. Mine got dinged many times, and I just twisted it back where it belonged, more or less, and rode on.

    • @JohnH0130
      @JohnH0130 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@joebond5012 You can manipulate the shifter manually with pliers, Just put it in second gear and limp back to civilization. Not too difficult with a big high-torque thumper. Abuses the clutch a bit, but ought to get you back OK. I've even used locking-jaw pliers as an emergency shift lever, until I could get a replacement part.

    The abandoned town - woah! Thank you so much for the perspective of the how and why this region is how it is. It makes me appreciate what I am seeing even more. The geology of the region makes the cave dwellings seem not quite as secure as I thought. If the terrain was that malleable, then earthquakes, or even gradual erosion could, indeed, change things in a jiffy - oy! The fabulous drone view at the end really illustrates how the mountains have been carving themselves away over the millennia. I wonder what the human action is on the mesas. Looks like potential crops.
    The food you are eating now looks so healthy and delicious. So nice that you don't have to eat iffy 'what-is-it, really' on the road.
    And the lovely decorative road pavers - such a nice and unexpected touch! I also smiled at your very cool rock room with modern windows fitted in.
