I like the way you said that was right, then moved the bars a bit more! 😂 It's a bit like when I get back into my car after someone else has driven it, it seems to take me for ever to get the seat back into "my" position!
The bars are a good fit for the look of the bike. I see you went for cutting the bars, rather than rearranging the brick wall-probably the logical choice!
I had this issue with my throttle when I changed my bars out and ended up having to lessen on the tension on that cable due to the distance of the new bars from the previous ones making it a little longer. But seems like you’ve solved the issue with your choke so good work Matt. You are totally right too, the season is creeping up faster than people think
Hi I actually watched your post about Imposter Syndrome the other day, then this post came today ,where you mention friends from Norway,, i'm pretty close by, I moved here to Sweden from Brighton 32 years ago. I started my channel last year & its fun meeting other vlogers like your self anyway I enjoyed the posts & saw the Scandi connect as a sign haha, So sent you a sub mate, I did see some friends I know in your comments also, which is cool.I love tinkering on bikes & am jealous of you garage, Cheers & ride safe
Thanks mate. I did actually live in Sweden for 2 years, Leksand, Stockholm and then Uppsala. Learned to speak Swedish before I moved to Norway. In our wedding video I was speaking Swedish, with a Stockholm accent apparently! The Norwegians think I'm Swedish, haven't been able to shake to Swedish accent when speaking Norwegian. I love Sweden, such a great country with equally lovely people. I'll check out your channel mate, thanks!
Hi Matt, I’m not sure if the starting difficulty is related to the handlebar swap or if it was already an issue before. Just to share my experience: I’ve had my TBS for almost 25 years and around 180,000 km. Nearly every time it was hard to start, the culprit was either a weak battery or misadjusted valves. Just leaving this note here-even if it’s not helpful for you, it might come in handy for one of your followers.
Thanks for that mate. Battery is likely to be one of the issues, not got the trickle charger on! I think it is due a complete service including valve clearances too. That's a lot of miles on you TBS. Just shows how robust these bikes are.
I took my now wife to Bath for a weekend when we got engaged, prior to me moving to Bristol. Can't wait for the decent weather to arrive. It's been a long winter.
Looking good! It's amazing how different a bike can feel just by changing the bars and tweaking the hand and foot controls to exactly suit you. If you find the clutch is a bit draggy, it might benefit from bleeding. Because the way the reservoir was hanging while you installed the bars may have let air into the system. If you're doing a service, then changing and bleeding the fluid is probably on your "to-do" list already. By the way, congrats on 2k subs - I've just added myself to the list.
@luddite6239 thanks for the sub, appreciated! Yes, I think everything needs a bleed, all feeling a bit spongy. Totally love these new bars, perfect for the T'bird.
Man this is so CooL
Can't wait for The Wild One Remake 😀
Haha, not sure I'll be cool enough for that. The bike is though.
@@thebristolthunderbird You're born CooL. even the internet knows it now 😀

Haha, yes, always that final adjust, makes all the difference.

Had to take a bit off the 7/8ths bars as they were 30mm wider than the 1inch bars! Might have to do something to the wall too.

Bring on the riding season, need it badly!

Bath is a stunning city. Our Norwegian friends loved it. This winter is far too long. They seem to get longer every year!
Hi
Can I ask what bars you have and where you got them?
Hi mate. They are the Norman Hyde Western bars. You can order directly from their website.
Thank you very much
You also may have to have a look at the Carbs,do you drain them when not being ridden.
That's probably needed too. Although I did have it started and running well just last week. Think it might be the spark plugs.

I fill my tank to the brim with stabilizer. No probs for the last three winters. E5
@@nigeldalrymple4099 probably should have done that...
