For some people they are. If you find them easy then that is good for you. For example, I'm from Austria so english is not my first language. Sometimes I can't solve a problem simply because I don't understand the task. It really helps to watch a native speaker solve them.

ShuYang Lin The school gets its funding off of good student final exams scores. Therefore it is in there interest to encourage student to take these things and offer it to them. So yeah in some part yes they are kind of at least if they want to keep running the school
@@SL-yn2gw You're partially right. Partially is not good enough though. If they actually want the student to grow and learn, they should AT THE VERY LEAST have resources for the students in preparation of succeeding on their standardised tests if not directly teaching the students.
It is faster way to solve it 7*16=112 112-17=95 | 95-18=77 | 77-19=58 | 58-20=38 | 38-21=17 now you can't choose distinct integer greater than 16 so the most amount of these numbers are 17,18,19,20 and 21 5 numbers last 2 numbers aren't important
i should have been started watching these videos- you've taught me better than all of the math teachers I've had since 9th grade and i've only watched three of your videos
I took some practice test after watching your videos, and increased my score by 100 points. Thank you so much, meanwhile I'm still taking notes. Oh btw, Sam really has to study for his next test.
no you don't have all the time to work out the videos on test day, you are 100% correct, but I explain them slowly so everyone can understand, it's up to you to practice more so that when you ACTUALLY do the problems you have all the steps in your head and you can zip through them... imagine if I just zipped through the problems... would that be helpful?
I know you posted that a year ago, but if you find C to be correct, you still have to try A and B to see if they are correct, which makes it more likely that you'll pick C even though it isn't the optimal answer.
Haha, that's great, I said the exact same thing a minute into looking at the problem. SAT really pushes the critical thinking on basic math concepts. While ACT seems to go for application based on what you should have learned in highschool.
Just to save time on the last problem, Start off by doing 84 x 5 = 420 right away, then do 80x4=320, and do 420-320=100, getting the answer of needing to receive an 100 on the next test to get an 84 average. Makes the problem a lot faster
Thanks a bunch for these extremely helpful tutorials. I haven't been able to find any other ones as concise or in-depth as this one. 2400, here I come! Praise Satan, Geraldé L'Heuruex
Just because C is inconsistent doesn't necessarily mean that A or B would be inconsistent (although in this case, it happens to be true). Be careful about the assumptions you make!
These videos are great thanks for the help! But do we really have all this time on the SAT to work out problems? I feel like it might almost take to long.. Im taking the SAT tomorrow so this really is a lot of help compared to just taking online practice tests that dont give you much of an explanation afterwards
Well, Waterylce54321 kind of nailed it on the dot. The SAT, which I've never taken before pushes critical thinking on math while the ACT goes right into math applications you would normally see in a high school class.
in the first q just add up extra values over 16 in each case. but that exceeds 16. so only 1 number cannot digest all of it. so 2 numbers r required.....hence 5
are the SAT tests the same worldwide because i find it too easy...i have no idea about SAT but i am thinking of applying for scholarships for USA is this the same test that we should take??
I WOULD have asked where you got y from, but the total numbers you had to have on top needed to add up to 7 and we didn't know what the other numbers were. Correct me if I am wrong.
or to get really technical you could do choices (B) and (D) for instance if the choice is higher than (B) then its (A) sorry its kinda hard to explain but i hope you get it :P
For the first one wouldn't 4 work as well? Since 17+18+19+20+x+y+n=74 and 112-74=38 and 12+12+14 which are numbers lower than 16 would be equal to 38. 17+18+19+20+12+12+14=112/7=16. Please explain why the answer is just 5!
The problem is we don't have that much time on a test to answer everything out. In essence the methods are good but in retrospect because it take too long this is irrelevant
Pretty smart kid moved from singapore to where i live in america, this kid is pretty smart and he took geometry a year before I did. For some reason, though, he decided to redo geometry here in america in 9th grade (most people take it in 10th).
@scraper1000 that would be because at least one would be below 16. you can't have an average that is lower than all the numbers needed to form it. anyway it was the wrong choice
The way i did #1 is 7 is impossible 6: 1+17+18+19+20+21+22=118/7=16.85 (so 6 cant also work because using the smallest number (1) the average is still over 16 with 6 number greater than 16). So 5: 17+18+19+20+21=95. Then add 3 because other 2 numbers could be 1 and 2 you get 98/7= 14 (less than 16). Then 112 (16 *7) - 95( 17+18+19+20+21=95) you get 17. That means 2 number that equals 17 is less than 16 so 9 and 8. 8+9+17+18+19+20+21=112/7=16. You didnt need to figure out the last step but i did it just to show you that 9 and 8 works. Now you know the answer is 5
If I have the average of 10 numbers, and the average is 5. The numbers would have to be 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 , 9, and 10. That's =to 85. And you said ML = sum. 10x5 = 50 not 85.
Instead of start from the top, maybe starting at the middle helps more. If your answer is too low, try the larger answer choices, and vice versa for the high answers
Your symbol is for associated press not advanced placement... And someone who recently graduated from a university wouldn't label themselves as an "ap student".
I had the first problem figured out in about 30 seconds using logic 2 minutes is too long for one problem on the sat never mind 4 I had to stop watching I've found with other kids in high school the difficult part of a hard problem is just how long it takes to find the correct answer most everything on the test you've been taught how to figure out just not usually fast enough to get an 800
Well I hope you know you didn't get that job with SAT math lol And i only know how many kids failed college Calculus because I took it myself, and it was a breeze.
no you don't have all the time to work out the videos on test day, you are 100% correct, but I explain them slowly so everyone can understand, it's up to you to practice more so that when you ACTUALLY do the problems you have all the steps in your head and you can zip through them... imagine if I just zipped through the problems... would that be helpful?

well.. we won't have enough time to do it the way you explained it in the first one.
don't start with the outliers in problems like this always start with the middle
sorin calub yeah don't do the largest or the smallest

Wow holy shit man why does my school not offer how to prepare for this shit i have never experienced such a thing.
Roberto Gutierrez your school is not responsible for your college preparation...

Lol this is like the PSAT March 2019 problem where the kid had to get a 99 on his next test to pass the class😂😂
I know you posted that a year ago, but if you find C to be correct, you still have to try A and B to see if they are correct, which makes it more likely that you'll pick C even though it isn't the optimal answer.
Haha, that's great, I said the exact same thing a minute into looking at the problem.

These are difficult problems?
When constrained for time, yes.
You make this look easier than getting a tan.
I'm confused on the first one...
same
I wish the problems on sat math part are easy as this ......
well some are... this is from an actual test :)
RadicalPrep it's easier questions though
Amazing teacher!

In the UK we don't even get multiple choice questions. Secondly, these problems are so easy.

why did you put the "y" at the 5#'s ? You only wrote "x" in the 6#'s and no "y".
I’m gonna miss Radical Prep after I finish my SAT next week
I found it really easy. It's like ENEM, the SAT here in Brazil
Well, Waterylce54321 kind of nailed it on the dot. The SAT, which I've never taken before pushes critical thinking on math while the ACT goes right into math applications you would normally see in a high school class.

omg you are heaven sent. thank you SO much!

Do you have any tips to do these problems faster?

Because it says what is the 'most' amount of these numbers that can be greater than 16? 5 is the most
Tiffany Phan read the question properly it says 7 dinstint positive integers
Where do you work? I plan on majoring in Computer Science as well.
OMG, YOU ARE SO HELPFUL! THANKYOU SOOO MUCH!
OMG. Thank youuu. Lol really, thanks so much for your easy explanations!
The problem is we don't have that much time on a test to answer everything out. In essence the methods are good but in retrospect because it take too long this is irrelevant
thanks for the formula hints :) getting there
5th grade math in Singapore, draw a few bars and done.
Bill Y. And yet most Singaporeans are better at math than Americans you must tell me your secret.
Lmk when Singapore isn’t riddled with crime
Pretty smart kid moved from singapore to where i live in america, this kid is pretty smart and he took geometry a year before I did. For some reason, though, he decided to redo geometry here in america in 9th grade (most people take it in 10th).
Why did you add x+y or choice 5
Why on 6#’s is there x and not y just like 5#’s
Why did you change it from "x" to "X +Y" instead of leaving it as just x?
aren't these easy in comparison to the other problems?
i didnt understand how the right answer was 5 if y+x=17 when the avg is 16. with 5 doesnt that mean that the avg is 17??
I don't get the problem. You said that 7 numbers greater than 16 doesn't make sense, then how does 6 numbers greater than 50?
why did you use 17 18 19 etc. why can't you use all of the same number such as all 17
the word distinct
Do you know what distinct means?
Although your teaching methods are great and I understand how you get the answer, I don't have 5 minutes for 1 question on my test
What do you mean "worse" ?
@scraper1000 that would be because at least one would be below 16. you can't have an average that is lower than all the numbers needed to form it. anyway it was the wrong choice

That means 2 number that equals 17 is less than 16 so 9 and 8. 8+9+17+18+19+20+21=112/7=16. You didnt need to figure out the last step but i did it just to show you that 9 and 8 works. Wait...on 1st question why do you started from #17?
As it says number greater than 16
Easier equation for #3. 84(5)-80(4)=100.
Someone help, If the average of the 4 numbers a, b , c and t is 40 and the average of the 3 numbers a, b and c is 20 what is the value of t?
I actually really wanna know the answer to this question?
Gee, it seems the SAT is dreadfully worse than the ACT.
There's no way you'll be able to do the first example in under a minute
African Prince Okoh to be honest I would stop after finishing the work for answer choice b (6) because it's pretty obvious that the maximum will be 5
Instead of start from the top, maybe starting at the middle helps more. If your answer is too low, try the larger answer choices, and vice versa for the high answers
Higher answers being those that give negative answers for x
Wow, great tip!
you are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your symbol is for associated press not advanced placement... And someone who recently graduated from a university wouldn't label themselves as an "ap student".
Lol, i hate maths so much....! Thank you so much for these vids though they are a big help :)
Is this really on the sat? I found these questions to be really easy, and I'm in 8th grade.
Yeah you will be surprised what's on the SAT. The SAT mix up the easy and hard problems on the test.
Lol, I thought these where difficult, and I'm in 10th grade :/. Guess I'm dumb, or your crazy smart
Haahahha
Trenton2018 no my friend asians like us found this to be insanely easy.
Guys...I didn't understand the solution of the first one
Thank you so much!
for the first question, why cant the answer be D)?
it's asking for the greatest amount; while D works, it's not the biggest amount that works
Dude the examples were dirt easy.
thank you.... chu made my life easier T^T
Those ain’t difficult, those requires time only👍🏻
I meant 55 not 85.
why didnt you write 17, 17.5, 18, 18.5 etc. or use any decimals for this part. why arent decimals acceptable
they are, its just easier to work with whole numbers
integers can't have decimals
***** i thought we were talking about mathmatical possibility , i guess what you say makes sense for the question
u mean consecutive number I think
god knows wat kinda stupid answers i would have gotten without ur help *__*
I had the first problem figured out in about 30 seconds using logic 2 minutes is too long for one problem on the sat never mind 4 I had to stop watching I've found with other kids in high school the difficult part of a hard problem is just how long it takes to find the correct answer most everything on the test you've been taught how to figure out just not usually fast enough to get an 800
what
Thank youuuu sooo much!
You sir are awesome.
A bunch of these are just like math counts problems!
Mucho gracias!
You may not believe it, but most Brazilian SATs are way harder than this
brazil doesnt even have the sat lol
wow. the SAT makes sense now O_O
Bruh we don’t have time for this
why cant i think like you
are those suppose to be hard!!!
"Difficult" problems...but nice video!
first was hard. rest was easy :3
but it could be 17, 6 times no ?
+Agathe Laisne The problem said that the positive integers were distinct, meaning that they could not be repeated :)
I take COOPs
darn I thought the answer was FOR
so in the last problem, by setting the equations equal to eachother and symplifying, you will get y=y+2.....yeeaahhhh....
its so hard
ty ty
@IloveMIT8923 AGREED!
its funny, how you make 8s...with two circles and not at one go.
it really is.....
its true
wtf!!!
you all just see IIT JEE easy problems.....
not the highest
Really guys I can't under stand I'm just going to say I get it
Well I hope you know you didn't get that job with SAT math lol
And i only know how many kids failed college Calculus because I took it myself, and it was a breeze.
please make sure that you are using only official college board material. when you make up your own problems, you are doing a disservice to students.
lucky lol Im terrible at math!
Jesus, SAT math is a freakin' joke. No wonder I've seen so many kids fail Calc-1 and 2 in college.
no you don't have all the time to work out the videos on test day, you are 100% correct, but I explain them slowly so everyone can understand, it's up to you to practice more so that when you ACTUALLY do the problems you have all the steps in your head and you can zip through them... imagine if I just zipped through the problems... would that be helpful?
