Tom Jones, one of the best singers of all time. Icon.
I have loved Tom Jones since I was young, watching his variety show. Now at 84, he is still touring and still sounds amazing.
That is Tom Jones one of the greatest singers to come out of the land of song (Wales) Oh BTW I'm English
Wow, Tom Jones with Mark Knopfler playing! Tom Jones has a great catalog!
I am watching because I’ve loved Tom Jones forever!
I had never seen this before - what a treat!! The great Mark Knopfler and the great Tom Jones together, Yay!!! I can't believe you've never heard of Tom Jones, he is in his 80s and still has an amazing voice.
Tom Jones is more than a Legend and more than an Icon.. and still going strong today at his age... respect to him.
Two gentlemen at the top of their game. What a gift to listen to them!
Tom Jones was a Welsh coal miner whose voice was discovered in the early '60's, and he became an iconic singer on both sides of the Atlantic. He had a very long and illustrious career, with many hits singles, and was one of those male sex symbols, like Elvis, where women would throw their panties at him from the audience. He's had some fun collabs over the years, too. His style was more traditional, not rock or folk, but more pop.
Tom Jones is also a coach on The Voice Global.
Knofler, as always, is amazing…Jones has power combined with sweetness in his voice. ❤
'Who's that???'😅One of the best guitarists and one of the best Singers...great Collaboration!Check out some more Tom Jones songs...sure you'll know some of them already!😉
I can't believe you didn't know who Tom Jones is! Only one of the greatest singers ever! He's had so many wonderful hits!
Hard to believe you haven't at least stumbled across Tom Jones previously. He's about as classic as you get.
Wow, I never knew this existed! How wonderful! Two legends together - thank you for this! 🙂 There is a wonderful video of Mark Knopfler with Chet Atkins doing a free flowing medley which is SUCH a delight - two guitarists delighting in each other's playing. th-cam.com/video/5wTVLIZaxMk/w-d-xo.html Also, if you've seen it, Knopfler does the soundtrack for The Princess Bride.
Cracking me up...who's this guy? Tom Jones. Dude there's like 70 years of him singing out there. He's in his 80's and still sings.
Sir Tom Jones is one of the GOATs. I would recommend a live performance ( black and white ) from 1965. " I will never fall in love again "
I also recommend I’ll Never Fall in Love Again by Sir Tom Jones, he’s in his 80s now and unlike some of his contemporary artists his voice is still great. He’s a judge on the UK talent show The Voice.
Tom Jones found his success in the 60s as a pop singer. He had a successful variety show on TV for a while. He is a fantastic singer with roots in the blues.
You absolutely MUST listen to Tom Jones "'ll Never Fall In Love Again" - make sure it's the black and white video when he was young!!! It will knock your socks off!!!
or the one he did on the Voice UK with the son of the man who wrote it for him. One of the great moments of British TV in the last 10 years.
I love your show, Brother. And I feel so old when I watch you not recognize who people like Sir Tom Jones is. Granted, I AM old. Hahahahaha.
In the 60’s we had Tom Jones and America had P.J. Proby, that were similar stars.
The lasses used to throw knickers(panties) on to the stage😊
I laughed hard when you said, "Who is that?!" You are absolutely excused for both not knowing either of these icons; they're from my formative years and I'm in my sixties. Great job at showing respect to these amazing musicians. The Knotting Hillbillies is an album you should listen to. This song is from that.
That is Sir Tom Jones still singing in his eighties ❤
Thanks for the video Sebs. I once again got chills listening to the guitar. It's gratifying when people enjoy your suggestion as much as you hope they will.
Tom Jones has a great catalog!!
If you haven't checked out Tom Jones yet., you need to do that. He is probably techniquely one of the best singers in the POP/Rock genres. He's amazing and he is like 83 today and still singing. Check out his song Delilah. Kurt from Maine.
Tom Jones is an icon. 80+ years old and still performing.
If you want more incredible guitar work, check out B.B. King. One of the best, if not the best, blues guitarists of our time.
I believe this is from the soundtrack from LOCAL HERO. After Dire Straits, he scored several movies
You need to watch the Tom Jones tribute to his wife on The Voice "I Won't Crumble". You will get very emotional from his story. Remember he is 82 years old in the video and how strong his voice still is.
He’s also a judge on Australia Got Talent with Leanne Rhimes
The Maté cracks me up. I was introduced to it in Uruguay.
For a real treat, watch Tom Jones's duet with Stevie Wonder, where they sing each other's songs!
He also did a wild duet with Janis Joplin.
You don't know Sir Tom Jones ?
This guy is a legend Tom Jones.
Still want you to do.
Blue bluest blues.
Alvin Lee
Please check out Tom Jones’ “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again”. The one from 1967…your jaw will drop! And Knoeffler’s “Sultans of Swing”…amazing
Women threw their undergarments at this man on stage so legend seems pretty accurate. Mark is a one of a kind guitarist, I suggest checking out the stuff he did with Chet Atkins its a master class in that Gibson sound you covet.
Tom Jones! Listen to it all. It's not unusual is a classic.
My Mom loved him. She would be in her 80's now.
Knopfler is left handed but learned to play right handed, therefore the positioning of his hand. You should listen to Jones sing “ I’ll never fall in love again” from his early days.
Al so check out Mark with his guitar hero Chet Atkins singing “Po Boy Blues”
Check out 2 heart throbs from back in the day, Tom Jones and Englebert Humperdinck. Love your channel!!
Tom Jones!!!! I’d vote for “It’s Not Unusual” next 💕
😂Great old Charlie Rich song! Tom's voice, Mark's guitar! I gotta share Charlie Rich wrote and released this in 1960: here's the original. demo:th-cam.com/video/bSLSuY5UzLE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=R6xBIzpxbg9o1x0V ❤ This is a beautiful cover. Rita Coolidge also did it beautifully in the 1970s
Watch Tom Jones “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again” … GREATNESS!
Tom Jones still sounds this good in his eighties.
Back in the day, Tom Jones would have the women in the crowd taking off their clothes! He could work a crowd! haha
Elvis was a Big Tom Jones They became good friends.
Thats called Travis picking. Very popular in Folk and Country
Sir Tom Jones made all the women weak! I remember his tv show. He has some wonderful music if you dive deep. He even has a duo with Janice Joplin. That you should check out!
Would love you to check out Gary Moore cover of Red House blues by Jimi Hendrix
You have not checked out Tom Jones yet????? Wow…. You are in for a real treat. He was one of the most successful , popular singers and sex symbols at the height of his career. Swagger out the yin yang. You REALLY need to react to the older videos of his live performances of Delilah, I’ll Never Fall in Love Again, It’s Not Unusual. He’s incredible . His sheer power, control, vocal ability is stellar. You have to react to at least one of his songs and you’ll know what I mean. I would recommend either Delilah or I’ll Never Fall in Love Again to start. Make sure it’s a live performance. The live performances from the 60’s are best.
Tom Jones is 84 and sounds just as good, if not better.
I believe this is a cover of Charlie Rich's original
Check out Tom Jones singing “What’s New Pussycat” or “Delilah”
His name is Tom Jones and he had a variety show..
You need to hear the version that was done by Trisha Yearwood, Bonnie Raitt and Jools Holland.
That will blow your f'ing mind. Its gorgeous.
Check out mark knopfler-Once Upon A Time In The West (Cordoba29.04.2019)
Back in the day he gave elvis a run for his money
Since you're interested in guitar players, may I recommend the songs "Classical Gas" by Mason Williams and "Malaguena" by Roy Clark. Probably new to you but well known to your followers.
Check out Tom Jones I'll never fall in love again
That is Tom Jones
It's pronounced NOFF-ler. Silent K, silent P, short O.
Lol
