When you add one of the greatest guitar players ever together with one of the greatest singers ever you are going to get magic. And that’s what you get here. Thanks for sharing your reaction to this magic.
Sir Tom Jones now 84 1/2 still at work in live concerts and coach on The Voice UK. He used to sing after shows in Las Vegas and possibly other places in the States with Elvis, they were good friends for at least ten years of the remaining life of Elvis. They would sing Gospel which Sir Tom loves
A Tom Jones video which gets little coverage is the recording of " Not Feeling it no More" with Van Morrison ( who wrote the number). The two get on well and have appeared together in festivals like the one in the northern Italian town of Lucca. But in this recording, which appears almost like jam session, everyone is having so much fun its a great vibe. Tom doesn't appear to know all the words so Van is mouthing them before each verse. Everyone , including Van the man, is smiling and laughing while Tom never misses a beat. Never seen Van So animated and happy.
That was a little disingenuous to the incredible accompanying guitar work of the great Mark Knopfler I thought. Both men contributed equally to a really beautiful performance of a lovely song, I thought.
You might like to check out the series Johnson and Knopfler's Music Legends where Brian Johnson of AC/DC and Mark Knopfler interview fellow music legends. The first episode is with Tom Jones.
Love the show, if i could make a request, don't think i have heard you guys do Peter Frampton, song "Do you feel like i Do" from the midnight special show, it is mind blowing live performance, thanks guys
call me crazy or stupid, but I hear Brian Johnson in Toms voice. I never really listened to Tom Jones and always assumed he was American. not until this reaction had I ever really heard his voice. immediately I heard the Brian accent, growl, tone. different styles of course, but I am sure they were both from the same area. just sayin'.
If you mean Brian Johnson from AC/DC, he was born in County Durham England......Tom Jones was born in the south of Wales .....separated by about 300 miles
Well by the time you finished rabbiting we forget what we were listening to. Maybe you should try commenting at appropriate times or keeping them shorter. I stopped watching because of your protracted comments. And you will be happy to know i wont be watching again.
Because it isn't his. This song is a cover version originally performed by Charlie Rich in the 70's. Mark Knopfler's Notting Hillbillies also recorded it on their album.
ya he has an amazing voice but what has he done with it for to help humanity. Very little. He is a very rich man and so gets little form me for being so and not giving it away as fast as he makes it now that he has a lot more then he needs. Yes he gives some but only that which his accounts tell him he has to to get out of some tax or other. Nothing more.
FYI......Jones sang ‘Delilah’ with opera star Luciano Pavarotti at the tenor’s annual charity concert in aid of Afghan refugees. In 1992, Jones recorded a version of “All You Need Is Love” for ChildLine and performed in a live stage performance of Dylan Thomas’ “Under Milkwood” to benefit the Prince's Trust. He also supported the Prince’s charity in 2001 at the London fundraiser “Party In The Park”. In 1993, Tom recorded version of the Rolling Stones’ classic “Gimme Shelter” to benefit the UK homeless charity, Shelter, and sang at Sting's annual show at Carnegie Hall to benefit his charity, The Rainforest Foundation. My God Bays you are one bitter apology for a man. How dare you try to tell somebody what they should do with their money. The fact that he may be well off is totally irrelevant.
I don't take this music for granted, awesome!
Tom is 83 now and still has a great voice
Actually he's 84!

Two of the best artists to come out of the UK this brings a lump to my throat
I am as old as dirt, and know both artists well, but I never knew this gem existed
Tom Jones is STILL on The Voice UK as a Judge, & often sings a song whilst he is there. Love Mark Knopfler too, such a brilliant guitarist.
Mark is a god.
Tears of joy❤
Tom Jones voice, is UNMATCHED!!! PERIOD!!!

The irony of having the ultimate in emotional performance being reacted to by the ultimate in emotionless. That irony isn't lost on me here.
'Green green grass of Home', 'I'll Never Fall in Love Again', are 2 of Tom in a more somber, but powerful mode.
REALLY AWESOME
Jones' pipes are unparalleled.
I was always faithfull to Elvis and still am ❤. At the same time you can't deny the amazing pipes of Sir Tom ❤
This song is from the excellent album by the Notting Hillbillies called Missing... Presumed Having A Good Time which is well worth a listen.
Which Mark Knopfler was a member of. Great album
@@aaronherbison7316 Wasn't he more the instigator of the Notting Hillbillies?
Just magic.

Quality.
This is a great collaboration but the version by The Notting Hillbillies is well worth a listen. Mark writes such wonderful tunes.

By the way, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! 🎄🎄
I'm an American. I grew up listening to Tom Jones. I put him an Elvis in the same category. They both could sing
Any list of the worlds top ten guitarist or vocalist and if either of these two people are not on it? The list isn't worth the paper it's written on,
You need more distance to your mic. You are popping like mad. Put it about a foot away. I promise it will still work perfectly

An even better combination is Tom with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young "Long Time Coming!"
dont get too wrapped up n your comments and forget what we are listenng to.
Then watch the original video. Why watch a reaction and complain about it??

They are english of course
Actually Neil, Tom is Welsh.
He's another one of those problematic Welsh. They all seem to be able to deliver a song with power and nuance.
To be honest i dont think this is one of his best songs
