Today we're playing Marvel vs Capcom 2!!! I'm showing off a list of the top 5 cool low tier teams that, despite being lower on the tier list, have some really busted synergy and tech that makes them hard to contend with!!

He's literally the same as in MSH game, a game in which he was the most powerfull in the game which includes Magneto.... so meh, i disagree.
@Leon Jones he's the most OP char in that game, and Magneto hasn't changed much from that game to this one
At the local arcade I used to surprise players using a team of Guile/Gambit/Jill. Not because they were all that great, but because you could combo Hurricane into Royal Flush and then into the Tyrant Super. The damage wasn't great, but it was always fun seeing people who didn't even realize the tyrant super existed, much less actually see it used in game effectively.

VDO's low tier team: Rogue, Colossus, Ken is a ridiculous Top tier killer when optimized.

I use to play against vdo on PSN back on ps3 prime he was godlike even his real low tier team of double wolverine Ken was really fun to watch

A buddy of mine used Juggernaut and Omega Red, really well I might add. I thought he was insane, but now I understand why it kinda worked.

one day I was going to Gamestop looking to get $10 at the most for a game that old...My mind was blown when GAMESTOP offered me $65 for this game...that's when a part of me that realized that this game was THE GAME.

This game has crazy amount of set up and team ups. Its fun. Tournaments ruined the game by always using the same people. This game was never meant to be studied and exploited. It was meant to have fun with.

@@SmileRYO back then they're wasn't a huge competitive scene and developers couldnt patch games. The developers just a made a fun game. I hate fighting against the same team over and over , its so boring. Magneto,storm and sentinel.

My man Juggernaut getting the love he deserves.
He's still strong without the glitch. The juggernaut punch assist does insane damage, is super armor protected, knocks the opponent away, is unpredictable, and fast. It's weakness is beam attacks tho....
god i really wish this game was on FightCade. The OG is cool but this one looks so wild

@@Korgoth9 Rip i was getting my hopes up when i saw the newer emulators in Fightcade 2. MvC2 would get people a lot more hyped for it if it was put on.
@humaneshadowx71 What are you talking about? It's on Demul, Dolphin and PCSXX emulator. You just need to get the Roms and go to Discord and find players to add for Netplay. The same with CVS2.
This is why PC is master race over corporate consoles.
A new emulator is coming out, and is called Prototype 5.1, will suport naomi and shit, or you can play online on a DCMU emulator too

Damn!!! I always loved MvC2 and how everything is so broken that it created its own weird balance. Keep bringing these stuff along with the DBFZ stuff!!!
For the Ken air combo, you’re supposed to only light punch once before the tatsu. Then you get all four hits and maximum damage. And on some characters you can do the tatsu immediately after the launcher for slightly higher damage overall.

This was an excellent video! I love exploring what is possible with the lower tier characters in MVC2. I would be interested in seeing more MVC2 videos in the future!
I've never been into fighting games but I've watched so many of your videos and it's honestly making me want to give them a shot. Especially mvc2. I dont care that it's an old game, I love the Sprite work and animations. Especially love the idle animations on characters like magneto and cable.
With b.b hood you can actually do down heavy kick twice and it sets them up to take the full damage of her special causing more damage
The first d. hk trips them and the second one makes them float and it's easier to spot if you locked them into the combo
I find it pretty cheap that Iceman doesn't recieve chip damage.
Yeah he does. Cable grenades, all of sentinels normals pretty much, captain commando's captain fire, etc. Theres a lot that chips him.
He doesn’t take beam chip damage but does take chip from plenty of other attacks
Yeah I know. Reason I say that is because I have a friend who picks Iceman and does nothing but spam ice beams. I main Akuma, so it's hard to get close to him while he's just spamming ice beams. It's annoying.

A buddy of mine who was big in the montreal competitive scene back in the late 90's early 2000's used to run a Shuma-Gorath, Amingo, and Doctor Doom team. The only other time I got a beating like that in a fighting game was playing against SonicFox in DBFZ.

This really put this game in a new light for me. I always assumed all the depth was in the top tier character and that most of the roster was just useless and could hardly do anything. I'll always prefer UMvC3, but I'm starting to get the hype for this game
They can all do something. If you know the systems (good team ups, a lot of combos) all the characters can be dangerous
I seen people wipe whole arcades with Servbot, Roll and Amingo. Low-tiers are scary when you know what you are doing.
I love this. When I was in highschool this game just came out and it was huge in the arcades back when arcades were still a thing. My main team ended up being my low tier team just because it was so fun to play. It was Strider, Megaman, and Ken. I, of course, had a Magneto, Storm, and Psylocke or Sentinel, Cable, and Psylocke up my sleeves but never pulled it out after I found Strider.

Hey big fan of your content jm! I don't know much about MvC2 but I've always been interested, I'd really love to see more content from you on this game. It's crazy that these strats are "low tier", because I play DBFZ and it's utterly broken in comparison lol. If these are "Low Tier" teams, maybe a future MvC2 vid could be the top 5 best teams? For ken after launcher, just do lp xx tatsu for maximum damage.
Once you pulled out Ken, the first thing I thought was air hurricane kick. I didn't know the reason for the big damage was due to a lack of scaling. Thanks. Very informative.
Jill Valentine, BB Hood, and War Machine. Big zoners with a Team Hyper Combo that does 50% chip on block.

MVC 2....the character select theme and the continue theme always got me ready to play more and more... especially when you lose and ready to quit...all you hear is (DON'T YOU WANT A REMATCH) had me saying fuck yeah I want a rematch

Always appreciate some low tier teams. There's alot of fun characters in the low-mid tiers. Anakaris, son son and Tron bonne/Jill is a personal favourite of mine. Son son as the point Rushdown, Anarkis for ground control and for grappling, (also Son son/Anarkis of course) and Tron bonne as zoner plus a ranged assist
Good video to keep MVC2 fun. I use Sim/Guile/Cyclops as my low tier team. Or the crappy shoto team of Ryu/Ken/Akuma. Akuma assist + Ryu's super is killer. Ken, as you pointed out in your video. Guile/Thanos/Tron is another favorite.

I'm watching this video and seeing all these teams and then I see Geif, Cap, and Ryu. That took me back to when I played Marvel 2 in front of my dad at an arcade a few years back the team I played was Geif, Ryu, and Cyclops little did I know that it can be a busted Low tier team with Cap on it. Thank you! That will be my Low Tier Team now!

My team from back in the day (and any time I play now) has always been Guile/Captain America/Spiderman. A great finisher combo'd into is Sonic Hurricane>Final Justice>Ultimate Web Throw. Had loads of great times over the years.

The Iron Zangief and Dark Sakura is all I play this game for now. Zangief's lariat assist is amazing and D. Sakura's teleport is invulnerable.

On the topic of Giefs air lariat, I've been doing a similar combo to what you showed off, except I go for same side or crossup cLK instead of Lariat so I can reset the combo and go into cMP xx jLP xx jMK xx Lariat. You can also do QCB LP for that launch command grab and do another same side or crossup cLK.

I’ve played this game off and on for a few years but I only had it on ps2! I finally got a dream cast and have been enjoying it a lot more! I’take just really hard getting used to the controls and I can’t LP/HP dash constantly on the Dreamcast controller but I’ve been playing Dhalsim, Anakaris, and Sentinel!
Ken on point and Cammy OTG mixups
Team I used to use was Colossus, Spiral, Thanos/Zangief.
Colossus has the ability to otk.
Spiral is a strong lock up character due to her multi-hits. Also her throw super is nice since it is an unlockable is you know how to connect.
Thanos actually has the ability to double chain supers for otk also, and Zangief also with his ability to otk with a combo super, or at least turtle break with his command throws.
This is not even mentioning the nasty assists you can utilize.

I know Cable isn't low tier, but I like to mash hp with him and call Juggernaut punch assist. It's good, mindless fun.
Use Iron man/ war machine with a fireball assist as second fighter....and shoot the hell out of your opponent....

I typically play Juggernaut/Spiral/ Cable
Usually you see Sentinel on that Spiral/Cable core but I adore the juggernaut punch assist with Spiral. It keeps people from getting in on her and lets her setup the swords easily and any stray hit from glitched juggernaut is insane damage and it leads into her full combo with grab super.
Big boy damage on a duktator pressure team legend? Oh hell yes.
I would’ve liked to see the Rogue/Ken/Thanos team. Rogue can get her full combo into the power absorb off of Ken Tatsu assist and Thanos bubble.
