Ryan Hurst was the perfect cast for Thor. The voice, the mannerisms and everything was spot on.
His development in that game is incredible
there was very few scenes with thor. barely enough to say it was perfect. there's still a wide range of emotions and situations that were not explores.
He's like the new Trevor

It’s amazing to think that 20 years ago he played that goofy football player in remember the titans. Cut to now he’s a Buddhist who plays the greatest rendition of the God of War we’ve ever seen. What a guy!!

He did an absolutely astounding job as Thor. Especially with the last fight. His portrayal of rage and being done with Kratos after putting up with him for so long is phenomenal.
After I watching season 9 and 10 of walking dead and Sons of Anarchy. They definitely made the right call when casting him as Thor!

His role as Beta, one of the Antagonist in the Walking Dead, was great.

I've seen nothing from him thst makes me think he'd make a great thor....other than his voice. I personally don't think he's a bad actor..... but I think there were better choices.

Not too far in the game right now but HOLY HELL THAT BEGINNING intro for Thor lol . What a memorable experience that was . Going up against Kratos' old history, trying to antagonize him and turn him into a raging God of War again and just his style as Thor is just insane . He just fits so well as him. Can't wait to see more of it in the next few days as I uncover what this amazing sequel has to offer. That Baldur intro experience from gow 2018 was so memorable and insane, but I'm pretty sure Ryan Hearst as Thor meeting Kratos is that, times 3 lol . Y'all are gonna love him for those that haven't been able to check the game out yet
Aww don’t say it’s times 3 :/ I personally had very low expectations for Baldur because he was so small and got flung so far away when he was punched. Then I realized that’s only the physics of it. Otherwise there was no effect to speak of.
Thor in the game is basically the antithesis to Atreus. His relationship to his father is everything that Atreus and Kratos succesfully avoid.
Facts. That Thor intro gave me the same vibes as the Baldour intro fight. Ryan has the perfect voice for Thor. Haven’t finished the game yet but I’m excited to get through it.

After the release, Damn he is good. That voice is intimidating, powerful. Everything was phenomenal
Been a fan of Ryan since SOA when I heard rumors that he was going to be Thor I got so fucking excited, upon playing the game at release you can imagine my surprise and absolute joy when I saw his name in the intro credits at the beginning of the game. He absolutely KILLED THAT SHIT I mean there has never been a more accurate portrayal of the REAL Thor and who he was his mannerisms etc. I really hope to continue seeing him in future video game work

I’m looking forward to seeing what Ryan brings to the table. I admire his optimism for the project, as well as how the creators pitched it to him. I remember Christopher Judge talking about his Kratos audition and he said, “Are you sure this is for a game!”
Indeed. We grew so familiar with MCU Thor which makes me really excited to see Ryan's performance as Thor

Finished the game 2 days ago. Holy hell! I absolutely loved it! You did an excellent job potraying Thor.
If you don't play videogames I encourage you to at least watch the playthroughs. Ryan Hurst as Thor is a heartbreaking performance.
His performance as well as the actor playing Odin were both unique looks at the characters that they set the bar now for me on what I will compare other adaptations. Just so we’ll done and I hope they are both considered for the prime series.
I was pretty surprised when I saw them at first, especially Odin, but they grew on me so fast! The writing and acting is amazing
@Trond Becker yeah I actually liked Thors whole character as soon as we first seen him, but it definitely surprised me the first time I saw Odin, but like you said, it grew on me too.
@Darth Desec A God Of War series is in the works for Amazon Prime Video. I’m 99.99% sure they are gonna fumble the bag real bad. Going off of the potential castings for Kratos like The Rock and Jason Mamoa I’m already not interested in it. Jason doesn’t have the build and Neither of them have the acting prowess and voice to play Kratos.

@@kvltslime2261 Yeah. But I doubt Chris Judge would wanna do it. It’s gonna be a long commitment and he would have to get too ripped which I don’t think someone at 58 would bother to do. The Rock is juiced up otherwise he wouldn’t look like that at that age as well. I don’t even have a fan cast. I almost don’t wanna see it get made but a part of me wants to see a live-action Kratos killing Gods.

I can see that. However I see why they went with Hemsworth. Hemsworth is to look more like a comic book character where as this is more lore accurate and I am all for it. This new Thor is awesome.

This game as a whole and Thor as a character, it's just epic. I'm usually not a big fan of spin-offs, but man, a prequel about Thor and how he fought and killed all this giants, that would be great. Thor is the first character that felt like on eye-level with Kratos.

Finished the main story of GoW: Ragnarök this past Tuesday. Ryan Hurst was the perfect actor to play Thor. Been a fan of his, all the way back to when I was in middle school, n my teacher put on Remember The Titans. Which then led me to watch him as Opie in Sons of Anarchy a few years later. N of course c him on Walking Dead as Beta for a couple seasons. Was actually nervous/curious if he was ok health wise. Last I saw him, he didn’t look as skinny as he does nw. Looks to b in good spirits though. Maybe it was just me. 🤦🏻♂️😂

Go watch Sons of Anarchy. That is the bread and butter of his career in acting.

He was so dope as Thor. I was a little surprised he wasn’t British, or have a European accent of some sort, but I think Ryan’s performance was fucking superb. Definitely my definitive Thor!
Most of the characters have American accents to be fair: Baldur, Atreus, Freya, Freya's brother, Odin. Freya even pronounce ''herb'' as ''erb'' at one point.
