- Here it is, the unboxing of the God of War Ragnarök Jötnar Edition for PS5 (which launched today on PS4/PS5). This collectors edition comes with the Mjölnir hammer which looks awesome, plus dice, figures, a map, pins and more! Thanks to PlayStation for gifting this.

Only disappointment is a steel book doesn't have a physical disc other than that it's a masterpiece

@@jackers_crackers5856 Gran Turismo 7 25th Anniversary Edition included a disc for the PS5 and a code for the PS4. GT and GoW are both from Sony so I don't see why they couldn't have done this. And for those who have the PS5 Digital Edition, they could have made a digital edition of the Collectors...
@@jackers_crackers5856 Easy fix Physical disc for the PS5 and you get a Digital code or free copy for the PS4 version when you install God of War Ragnarok. But here's the other problem too the case itself has TWO slots for discs and I assume they were for BOTH phyisical copies of GOWR for PS4 and PS5.

@@circleofthytyrants digital code. Same worth just different taste for people. Personally I like digital games because having disks I quickly run out of space on my shelves. To each their own tho I get you.

Love the game after only playing around 1 hour! Looks a masterpiece already and must be game of the year. The Jotner edition looks amazing unfortunately a little bit pricey for me!
1:07 For those curious the _proper_ translation (been seeing some float around online that are the same gist but the structure and literal translations are off) reads: Twilight beckons. The bear and wolf travel the realms nine hoping to stop that which seems inewitable (inevitable). Their bond will be tested, iet (yet) thei (they) must hold together for the good of all.
Another phrase for Ragnarok is "Twilight of the Gods" hence the "twilight beckons", the "bear" would be Kratos and the "wolf" being Atreus, the realms nine obviously refers to Midgard, Museplheim, Helheim, etc etc etc (the Nine Realms).

I took it upon myself to translate the cloth map runes from my jotnar edition, definitely could've looked it up but it was really fun to do so myself. It translates: For Brok and Sindri and their ambitions to the world's greatest blacksmiths, training in their Dwarven home realm was only the beginning of their path. Sure they created wonders like Draupnir and the cloak of feathers but true genius requires a broad education. They sought it out in all nine realms as well as the space between the great world tree iggdrasil, besting their previous creations with the hammer mjolnir and the great leviathan axe. None save the gods have been able to chart our strange geography but among mortals, few can boast the expertise enjoyed by the huldra brothers whose ability to navigate and traverse the realms rivals even that of Odin all father.
@@alexhood583 As I'm sure you noticed you've got to transliterate a few letters in the transcriptions, I noticed they used a mixture of primarily Elder Futhark with the occasional Anglo-Saxon alphabet. Also noticed they tended to shy away from using the "S" Elder rune -- guess it was too close to "SS" visually. Also running into the "well the DIRECT translation would be iet (or iggdrasil) but there's no y rune so..." and having to bridge the slight gap.
@@oduinn7948 @Oduinn I did notice differences from what I translated, I simply wrote in modern English so i didnt confuse myself while trying to read (very dyslexic) especially with the difference between the Anglo Saxon and elder futhark runes. Was just easier to type for me. I guarantee I would've spelt "iet" as let and made myself look dumb more than I already do

Despite being heavily versed in not only this branch of mythology but the historical aspect as well I sat and looked at "inewitable" for _far_ too long before I realized I was an idiot. Considering the reverse-translators that wrote the text originally going about it with a Modern English context is the best way to approach it, I was actually unaware of the cloth map myself (I don't even own a digital copy of the game) so I didn't have the opportunity of "Percy Jacksoning" that one. It's cool to hear that it mentions more of Brok and Eitri's (Sindri here) tales like Draupnir, though.
It's cute that they didn't mention that Mjolnir was actually a fuck up but I'll take it -- Brok must have had a hand in writing it.
The falcon represents faye, that's why the atreus pin (the wolf) has mixes of both the silver and the gold to represent both his parents.

I was torn between getting this but when I heard it was still a download it made me wonder what actually is the purpose of a steel book if its empty?
Ragnarok is amazing, I have to say this sequel will go down as one of the best games ever made. This is like Terminator 2 the only sad part is the series can either top this moment or go downhill from here.
