cars in South Africa are so bloody expensive but yet cars are so cheap especially when it comes to the Japanese cars a 2019 Porsche 911 turbo is just over a hundred thousand in our currency in Japan but yet in South Africa it is almost like 3 million to 2 million for a vehicle
There's a hell of a lot more too it than what you mentioned. NRCS, ITAC, RPI and the list goes on. Let me know if you would like to collaborate and I can run through all the steps it took to import my GTR and 2 x RX7 FD's
There is another category of used vehicle which you have left out completely and that is a vehicle that is modified or will be modified for the use of a disabled person.
Now lets say a person has already undergone the process and the car is in the country now. Is it safe for me to buy the car from the owner who first brang the car into the country and will i be able to license and get insurance for it.?
What happens if u buy a car from a tour company from botswana but from 1 of their South African branches but vehicle is reg botswana, so how do u proceed then , pls help I've just foolishly done this unknowingly and don't want my van impounded and crushed
Company still pays its lic And T. I. P. but I want to reg on SA enatis, all paperwork there just need to know can the application be done if cars in South Africa already as a drop off depo car, vehicle also couldn't return to botswana due to covid restrictions
Hi Sabri Shoo that is a tough one. Lets start with the basics. Is the vehicle an official make and model that is available in South Africa, many of those tour bus types are not likely to make it past eNatis. DOT is very strict on grey imports. I would say that the onus here is on the company that sold you the vehicle.
I would just like it if someone can explain why all the cars in Japan so cheap and they are left hand drive compared to the cars in South Africa that cost an arm and a leg the cars in South Africa are not made from gold and the technology in our cars is no different to the technology in the cars from Japan so why are they so expensive and I am talking about our brand name cars in South Africa
@@ChubbySenpaii17 you know it only costs a manufacturer here in South Africa R80.000 to manufacture one car and 90% of those vehicles are imported overseas and Japan is one of those countries so I think it is South Africa that should look left to come right
@@ChubbySenpaii17 but the reason why cars are so expensive here in South Africa is because the manufacturers are charging the same prices as what they charge the people overseas for the vehicles that includes the same shipping costs the same taxes and all the dealerships and second-hand car sells lots are putting there commission markup on the vehicles as well
@@ChubbySenpaii17 I have already done my research and that is why I am saying they are charging way too much for vehicles especially on how much it costs for them to build it
Hi Jeremy As we stated in the video there are some very strict terms and conditions that will need to be met and it is going to cost you a lot of money in taxes and fees. The government does not want citizens bringing in cars that we not imported by OEMs thus they make it as difficult as possible.
SA only has single event vehicle registrations (when ownership changes etc) but the vehicle has to be relicensed each year. The road license is only valid for 12-months. [Chad]
