Thank you for your valid info but I just wanted to understand how it works for eBay, cause Amazon seems to be straight forward, do they (eBay) also collect import fees on behalf of SA customs?
How can you not ship electrical items to a country. South Africa is backwards big time. Basically they want the citizens to pay dollar/pound prices locally
Hi,I just stumbled on your video while doing some research of my own,I recently purchased a product from China for myself, the company that I purchased it from said that I need a 13 digit customs clearance number so that they can ship it,how do I go about getting said customs number? From South Africa 🇿🇦
Now what if the seller doesn't state the import duties (on Amazon specifically) but only shipping fee...does it mean it is free or I will get a surprise and have to pay for import duties to clear my package to come through?
Thanks for this update and keep up the good work. Just as a matter of clarification, do you pay the import duty to the seller at checkout, or are you contacted by customs in SA to pay it before your item is released to you?
Good day, are all these customs charges based on the purchae price of the product or the value of the product i.e if i buy shoes at a discounted rate from another country meaing that i bought them for R1000 instead of R2000, will the charges charged by customes be on the R2000 (value of the product) or R1000( Discounted rate). Thanks
You need to do it yourself.. First you'll need to know the HS tariff code for your product ( confirm it with your supplier)... Then you take it from there..
Hey, i want to buy a phone in the us but i am a bit hesitant because of customs and how much they'd charge me. So my question is do you think they'd charge the same amount as the price of the phone? The phone is 2,3kg in weight
Hey, you can actually check this out yourself on Amazon, add a phone to your cart that ships to your location, press checkout and it will show you the customs for that device. Right now if I do it it shows me that the customs for a $315 phone will be $65 (For South Africa)
@@PMHK_za the package had a zero tax fee, it only had shipping and handling fee which i paid, but when the package reached i got a call from DHL saying that i have to pay custom tax for it. I call this serious robbery
Hopefully Amazon SA will transform this stupid system.
Great stuff brother. You have my total support, I know it is not easy but keep it up!

You have convinced me to buy online now! Thanks bro
😅 I’m sorry 🤣🙆🏽♂️
Why not ask the seller to declare the package as a gift? Wouldn't that work?
gifts are limited to the value R1400 and you only get 2 free-passes annually
Does FedEx usually charge a huge amount of money (close to the price of your parcel) for Customs?

Does Amazon deliver on time in south Africa and what happens if the delivery is late on the estimated date which they gave you
I have a package coming from amazon, make diretor following me on Instagram for updates (@pmhk_za)
Import duty is pegged at 10percent per item .
If it's a deposit, how much do you get refunded?
It’s not refundable
It’s what it’s used to pay for those charges
please how about doing the same for ebay please.
Same concept, apply it
