Tip for removing cylinders and cylinder heads, don't take one nut off at a time. Back them off evenly. Might save you a cylinder or cylinder head one day, they can warp.
Happy face these guys probably torque to spec on the first pull and go around like a clock..you give the kid advice like he suggests and then fobs it off like"i think its fine🤣" ask any self respecting mechanic/engineer the will say the same thing back them off evenly and torque up in stages..your welcome Tyler. Actually come to think of it did you even use a torque wrench on the kx build?
That crank never got hot while in the bike. I’m doing an 03 cr125 and got a wrench rabbit kit. Hot rods Cranks have blueing on them right out of the box. And that primary drive gear bolt is not right hand thread. Must just be stuck
Instead of heating up the barings when taking them out cool them off with an upside down air duster, heat expands the baring and makes in harder to take out of the cooler case. When you cool in off it shrinks
Everyone has their own way of doing a rebuild that blue on crank is normal and the primary gear should have been taken off before you take clutch off you can get a gear wedge between primary and flywheel .its the same when u put back together flywheel primary wedge tighten hope that helps
Those hot spots are from where the holes for the crank pin are bored, totally normal and fine.if there is discoloration on the big end of the rod and up the beam, also under the piston and topend bearing that's the tell tale .not picking at you just some friendly advice👍
Nothin like a good ole cr125 aye 😉 anyone else see Jeff walker rip it 🤘🤘 can’t wait to see the thing once it is done gonna look and sound like a beast 🔥🔥
Tom Bateman I have an electric impact and I would always have to wrap the hub with a belt and hold it while the impact beats on the nut. Even when I bought the tool to hold the hub still it still wouldnt come off easily on my 04 kx 125.
Your better off loosening the primary drive gear bolt before taking the clutch basket off because you can lock the gears together with a coin to give you more leverage, youl have to try and lock the crank to get it out otherwise it just try and spin
Bro you're heating up the parts you're trying to extract, you wanna do that the other way around. You can put the whole case in the oven and then hit the bearings with some canned air should work great if you have trouble with any in the future. Nonetheless you got the job done 👍
Just wanted to see if you had any advice on saving up for my next dirt bike. It’s been several years since I’ve owned one and I’m ready to get a bike again! Maybe a 250 four stoke
Love the commitment to the video build series, but man, one of your friends is literally going to be certified to be a 2 stroke and 4 stroke mechanic, have him help you next time. And this woulda been easier if you took the right side case off and apart first, before splitting the cases.
The idler gear bolt should have been taken out by wedging an aluminum washer between the two gears so the shaft doesn't spin and a breaker bar not impact driver.use the the right tool for the job

HaPPPY face why yes this is tradition to do this. It is very hard, nearly impossible to warp those cylinders.... the metal is very durable.
@@dominickjohnston5881 I've seen it happen. It's very unlikely but it can happen.
I think it’s fine 😂

Tyler heat the casing not the bearing when extracting and installing the bearing you want it to expand .👍
Sam Cureton 😂
I said the same thing on th kx build ,he got the bearing so hot it was blue I guess he thought it looked pretty Haha fuk wat a pretender.

Gun Chowder I was just about to say the same thing
Cmon tyler, we've seen 2 2stoke builds and an electric build, time to see a big bike 4 stoke build not a pitter
Gun Chowder I was just going to say the same thing on my 01 RM 125 with a hot rods crank there was also the blueish color
Highly recommend you putting in vforce reeds and a lectron carb it’ll run so crisp

Bearing*
You have to tighten that bolt for it to come out
Love the vids bro. From builds to riding. I do all this stuff to man and love it with a passion. Keep up the great work my guy.
Tyler the Guys from hr use heat to put the cranks together totaly acceptable and normal. Crank looks Great acually
The crank can look good but still be out of spec, get a manual check the tolerances and then you can stop guessing
Everyone has their own way of doing a rebuild that blue on crank is normal and the primary gear should have been taken off before you take clutch off you can get a gear wedge between primary and flywheel .its the same when u put back together flywheel primary wedge tighten hope that helps
What's up Tyler! Another awesome video keep 'em comin!

You got so lucky. Never had a clutch hub come off that easy.
Tom Bateman I have an electric impact and I would always have to wrap the hub with a belt and hold it while the impact beats on the nut. Even when I bought the tool to hold the hub still it still wouldnt come off easily on my 04 kx 125.
Yo love your videos were do you get your custom graphics from

Nice job Tyler.
Always doing the same 125 builds as you , thanks for all the info keep it up !!
You should definitely do the restyle kit!
Hey Tyler, didnt know if you knew but the threads on the one side of the crank are left handed threads
Awesome job man, can’t wait to see it done 💪🙏🤟
You should use the polisport restyle plastics. I have them on my cr 125 and they look sick!
You can put the older hpp top end on that 02 bottom end and it will actually go fast
Just wanted to see if you had any advice on saving up for my next dirt bike. It’s been several years since I’ve owned one and I’m ready to get a bike again! Maybe a 250 four stoke
Why would you split the cases before taking the right side cover and internals off? Certainly not the way I would do it.
Do you know any website where you can customize the plastics... Like with color in trying to find purple and gold 125 plastics
Can't wait to see how this build turns out I have the SAME EXACT bike!
Tape the bodtz together and then lable them so its easy to put back together
I was here learning for one day in the future
How does one acquire these skills to take apart a engine?
Keep it up man 🔥
Use a breaker bar and on the CR’s the bolt is reverse threaded
Hey Tyler can you post a new video of you and your friends riding at a track please I think it’s cool and the camera angles are sick 🔥
Try getting the transmission polished and let us know how it goes
Should’ve got a OEM rebuild kit with piston
Looks good Tyler

This kid is a clown
Holy shit fastest rebuild ever
Put a boyesen rad valve clutch cover and water pump and renthal bars and Dunlop mx52 tires and a red cycra stadium plate and side plates on the cr
He should probably just get a yz250x
Is that crank bolt right head thread??
Are you sure that bolt isn’t reverse threaded on my kx250f it was reverse Threaded
U will needs to put a new Hinson clutch in cr
Can you make a garage tour of your tools and stuff?
put the links down below on all the tools you uses
Yooo Tyler the crank bolt is reverse threaded
V-force3 reeds 😌👌
Need a polisport restyle kit
A fmf would be great 😁
Should I get a crf250r or a yz125?
What is your skill level
Noah Arnold I’m 5,4 130lb and probably a B+ rider
Yeah great graphics you should put hand guards on it black ones
Yeah
Sweet video👌😎
How does he remember we’re every little screw bolt and nut go? Lol, that would be my biggest weakness if I did something like this
He did video it...
The crank nut is reverse thread
That bolt is backwards thread
No. stop talking shit
Nico van Duin rebuilt one myself, it is.
@@andrewpatrick1006 Me too, exactly the same year, and it was just right handed thread
Do an electron carb is the best and most responsive in my apioion.
Jack Muller opinion
You should put vhm head on it
Love your videos
Put a timbersled on it for the winter
Love watching the videos. What kind of clutch do u have in your kx125
Hey Tyler you are my favorite youruber
This build is gonna be 🔥
When you finish the Cr125 you should race the kx125 vs the Cr125
Adam Paganelli is rebuilding a cr125 also.
Put a rekluse auto clutch in it
When you put it back together grease every bolt and you won’t ever hear it squeak
the nut is reverse threaded!!!!
sell the pro circut pipe and get a fmf on the bike
The idler gear bolt should have been taken out by wedging an aluminum washer between the two gears so the shaft doesn't spin and a breaker bar not impact driver.use the the right tool for the job
You have to take the primary cover off first before taking the clutch assembly off to achieve this.
🔥💨
That nit is reverse thread tyler
Andrew Patrick 1 comment is enough boi
How did a 2019 got so dirty so fast?
Kyle Jenkins it’s a 2003 he’s fixing it into one
Well. On the bright side at least he is aware that he is doing it wrong.
Yeah I’m pretty sure that reverse thread.
Can josh do my cases
A hot rods crank getting hot. Ironic.
What the next video
Hi great vidoe
New merch saying i think it’s fine like if agree
Get your suspension done by someone for the cr
left threaded
Hi
That countershaft nut is reverse thread
Better do red hubs son
Hey
Niceeee
Maybe it’s reverse threaded righty loosey on those
*IT"S NOT REVERSE THREADEDDDDDDDD*
u should get red rims for the cr
Definitely not
second
First
U should climb a mountain
the crankshaft bolt is left threaded
Wossup
ok
Get a air impact instead
My Cornwell 1/2inch impact will hurt your wrist if you’re not ready it
@Tom Bateman try my millwalkie 1/2 fuel for torque
Tom Bateman well I was talking about my pneumatic gun so yea I agree
That bolt is opposite threads (tighten to undo)
hiii
like 50 and comment 10. good video
I BET YOU WOMT REPLY🥴🥴
ye
Ha i did
