@@FuDaVan If you play with cropping the video, you can see what a narrower FOV would do. I think a very small crop is justified, but for a significant change you'd need the camera to be physically farther from the car. That's going to introduce mechanical problems like the camera flopping around more on the longer stick. But if they could move the camera back a few feet, keep it stable, and zoom it in to match, that'd be flawless.
They can't even handle having consistent onboard footage. And to have a big stick coming out the back could be an obstacle on some courses. I don't think that's ever going to happen.

This camera angle is starting to get popular. The first time I saw it was Keiichi Tsuchiya (Dorifto Kingo himself) going full send on the Gunsai touge IN A HELLCAT. That video was violent.

I ask because given the displacements of those engines, even the smallest boosted version would be way way over even the Open class ARA rules allowed multiplication factor. Was this stage run on tarmac tires, or just very worn down gravel donuts? Sequential or H pattern 'box?
It is indeed a 4.3L Ferrari V8. All motor, no turbo. We're on old rallycross tires for this stage. Sequential trans but a burnt out gear position sensor hence no flatshifting.

By looks of it, there’s a gimbal on the rear window which lets it swing side to side but remain isolated from the vibrations
It's great, as long as you know how to drive.
