I’ll check on the measurements. I do not have them maxed out but rather a level ride as it sit. There’s another .75”-1.25” adjustment in the front. Agreed with my off-road mechanic that we shouldn’t stress out all the other components but just it enough bump in the front to clear the 31” with 18” wheels that came off my 19’ Sahara unlimited.
That’s weird that size tire didn’t fit, Maybe it’s the lift, but everyone I know can can easily put 285/70 on there wk2. If you haven’t yet, join the Jeep Grand Cherokee wk2 group on Facebook you can find a lot information on there. Great looking Jeep though!
Thanks for the post, as there's no other Icon Coilover lift I can find here! I'm assuming your wk2 doesn't come with air suspension and you replace the factory strut with the Icon coilover? I have a 2014 wk2 with failed air suspension, and I'm looking for coil replacement and wonder if the Icon kit will do the job and improve overall ride quality and offroad capability?
Marshall Chang Hey thanks for the comment! 👍🏼 Yes my wk2, being a limited, I would’ve thought would have had the air suspension but you are correct I had the factory struts without the air suspension. I believe it’s only more labor involved if you have the air suspension though and it IS possible. I wouldn’t recommend doing it yourself, as there is little to NO information on these Coil-overs yet.
@@OffShoreSniper Indeed! How's your wk2 driving since the upgrade? I know Icon is a lot more expensive than the other brands out there, and I wonder if you pick it to prepare for more off-road and overlanding trips?
Marshall Chang well I still have my Toyota that’s in my other videos. That’s my daily driver. The WK2 is my wife’s and since it fits both car seats, our kids can pile in it and there’s a lot of off-road trails here in central Florida. But I went with these because I wanted the most lift possible available to the wk2. It sucks that they do not offer more clearance for these but once I install the new upgraded upper control arms I’ll post a video to see if y’all thinks there’s much difference. My original reason for buying these coilovers was to fix the clunking sound. I wanted them anyways but when we found out it was only a simple link we were left scratching our heads wondering if we made the right decision. To this day I am happy with the product. I would recommend it to those that want a better on/ off road ride. And if you do your research Ivón builds these for government and military vehicles alike so the quality is outstanding and the durability is just as good. I was NOT paid by icon and I spent the $2,300 these retail for. I bought it through a company on EBay with fast shipping witching a week or so.
@@OffShoreSniper Still, great choice and I'd like to get the ICON as well but the only thing it's I'm coming from wk2 overland with a full air suspension conversion. Knowing the Jeep air suspension headaches now, I would've bought the model with out it. Here in New England the freezing weather makes them more prone to leaks.. I'm doing the conversion to coil but concerned that I'll pick the wrong springs for it and result in unpleasant ride, but there are kits available to be a safer bet. You should definitely do more videos as not many people have put on ICON coilovers on their wk2!
Junior95 No noise from the passenger side but the driver side had a clunking noise. The noise was only when going over bumps with an up and down motion. I replaced both driver and passenger sway bar links and that fixed it. Moog the brand id recommend.
Scott Chavers I’ve replaced both sway bar end links with moog and the upper control arm on the passenger side and I still have a clunking noise. Beginning to wonder if the coilover is bad
Junior95 either that or look for a bad bushing somewhere. I had to replace one of the stock struts in the past. But if your running Icon Coilovers, they recommend sending them back once every so often to be recharged. They pressure test them again and if there’s any defects they’ll replace them. Look into that before you put your own money into it!
Jackson Rezab originally, I had 33s on it but they scrub too much. I have ‘31.5’ on now. Im thinking about getting some new upgraded upper control arms that are supposed to give you another inch or two.
Could you give a measurement from centreline of rim to bottom of wheel arch for me please? And is there more adjustment in the strut?
Seconded please

Does anyone know what the issue is post 2015 for these kits?
Found it. The swaybar mount moves from the lower arm to strut body
Hi, Any review? How is going?
No complaints here. My shop could only torque them to where I can clear 31” tires.

I replaced my air suspension to dobinson ims gc overland 2014
Do you have any noise issues with them my front passenger makes noise over bumps

Scott Chavers I’m going go all over it again. The coils are only a year old but maybe the need rebuilt or recharged
Junior95 best of luck to you.
what size tire are you going with?
