Don't worry. Politicians don't know their job duties or the law either.
@JonathanHerman-xz6zc Every society needs some form of leadership and that's what the government is meant to provide. The issue is we've allowed career politicians who earn a living in the top 1-10%. In a sane world, politicians should be a voluntary job to help make society better. It's become a who-you-know position and working off lobbyists for money which dictates what laws should be made. That was never the intention by the founding fathers, and unfortunately, even most of our politicians don't know the laws they implement.
The difference is that politicians aren't going to stop random people on the street and take away their liberty, make them lose their job, and make them have extreme financial hardships, and be illegally arrested. The person observed:
(ii)Is STANDING, walking or running furtively or in concealment.
The officer shall detain the person so observed at the time and place where he is found and, first identifying himself and the cause for the detention and inquiry, the officer shall ask the person detained to identify himself by name and address and may ask him to produce written identification reasonably confirming his identity.

The officer shall release the detained person if he orally identifies himself by name and address and produces written identification reasonably confirming his identity. The officer may request that the detained person forthwith leave the immediate vicinity if the detained person fails to produce written identification reasonably confirming his identity and, in the circumstances set forth in subsection.

Certify these public servants on the constitution and law. When they infringe on the constitution and law, they will lose their qualified immunity and be fined personally. Why don't they know what they took an oath to ? This is the most disrespectful and ignorant profession I have ever seen. Why are they allowed to continue this behavior?
Suspension of an LEO’s qualified immunity once a subject’s civil liberties have been violated seems like a very reasonable and necessary step to curtail this nonsense.
Never help any government employee is my new motto.

Great job Mr. Citizen, and hats off for the male officer for shutting down his tyrant officer.
She's not a tyrant officer. She's one of hundreds who aren't trained properly because your government like to cut corners.
With proper training these officers wouldn't exist. Again, she's not a tyrant, her demeanor is even than of an officer on her first job.

that had me curious...what exactly was she planning on investigating...pretty obvious. guy on relaitively empty public street with camera. = taking pictures. ok done investigation over

it escalates by badly performed "journalists"

I like this guy because he's not any more confrontational than he needs to be. He's a good teacher.
Dammit, treating citizens like toilet paper was the whole reason she joined the force!

@@kakashihatake1029 ok. Jacksonville, Florida key laws as it pertained to this stop...
"A law enforcement officer of the City, having reasonable cause to do so, may, in the manner hereinafter described, detain a person observed by him in a public place or on private property evidently not his own to inquire into the person's identity".
(2)
The officer shall release the detained person if he orally identifies himself by name and address and produces written identification reasonably confirming his identity. The officer may request that the detained person forthwith leave the immediate vicinity if the detained person fails to produce written identification reasonably confirming his identity and, in the circumstances set forth in subsection.
Based JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA local law, her stop seems reasonable and lawful detainment AND she can ask him to leave the area.

Dude, they just let him go because they worked out what he was up to. They have every right to stop and detain for a short period to question you if you are looking suspicious. It's called reasonable suspicion and they don't need to tell you what crime you they think you committed. They don't know if or what crime you committed, just that you are looking shady and that they should question you in case you are actually up to something dodgy.
It also works in stopping people actually up to something because there is the whole "oh no they are on to me" thing.
120 pound useless cop should never have been hired.

Dude, he was clearly acting suspicious to get them to stop. It's called reasonable suspicion. They arent stopping him because he exists. They are stopping hom because he looked like her was planning on or had committed a crime. The idea is to work out what the suspicious person is up to and can help prevent illegal action from taking place because of the whole "shit they saw me" element. No, there's no good cops. There are clever cops, and that pig knew when to fold 'em when the first cop didn't, that's all. This kind of things happens everywhere, every day. There aren't consequences because it's a fraternity where they look out for each other even through immoral and unethical behavior - even the polite ones are guilty of that.

@@TheLostDude7Will you swallow yours because the law doesn’t require her to state her suspicion it only requires her to have it. She was right.
I’m not saying it should work that way, I believe it shouldn’t, but it does and it breaks the entire point of not having to identify for no reason. Theoretically you could be right that they had no suspicion but if they were just refusing to say why, you commited a crime. It’s the Schrodinger‘s Cat of crimes.
@@Nib_Nob-t7x I guess, but why did the other officer let him go?
What crime did he commit? Suspicion isn't a crime. He was walking there filming in a public area

We waste so much time getting mad at foot soldiers and not the academies that produce them..
Are there channels that do? There should be, like an online PBS. I know other countries have state funded stuff like that, but the federal corruption here is problematic.
Good point. Maybe a group of citizens, including civil rights lawyers, could develop an online law enforcement program that instructs potential (and current) law enforcement officers in: constitutional rights, deescalation techniques, how to respectfully interact with citizens, etc. The course should include state specific modules covering unique laws for that state.
It's the foot soldiers that are putting their hands on us.... It needs to be dealt with on every level
