Britt now you're starting to realize what all the hype about Prince was. Multi - instrumentalist , insane vocal range , a fashion sense all his own and an onstage performer that was one part James Brown & one part MJ rolled into one. A once in a generation talent. R. I. P. to the one of a kind Prince , there will never be another like him.
I don’t get the MJ part, as he wasn’t emulating MJ at any time of his career, but I agree with you that he was an once in a lifetime talent. A true modern day Mozart.
Being a Prince fan was exhausting at times. Soundcheck entrance for members (which was a show in itself), main show (usually 2 to 3 hours) and an after show at some club afterwards. He played till the sun came up.
People don’t really get the Prince hype until they watch a live video of his. That’s when you really see the artistry, the showmanship, the pure musical genius that he was. His hits are great, no doubt. And will even get you to really enjoy him. But it’s when you see him live that you actually get it.
I was not shocked nor disappointed to hear Prince had an addiction to painkillers. His hips were blown out! So many Artist give their all for decades to entertain, and this hard life cripples the body. Mention: Steven Tyler, Steve Perry, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton, Alan Jackson…
Prince concerts were an experience! He had master musicians to bring his vision to the audience. He gave us EVERYTHING on the stage! He did hrs long soundchecks, then a concert, then hrs long aftershows. Now, fit in fashion shoots interviews, writing music and more. Slept maybe 4 hrs. He gave it all to us! Thank you Prince!☮️💜🎶
Miles Davis one said Prince was a combination of 4 acts in his mind: 1. Marvin Gaye (sex) 2. James Brown (funk) 3. Jimi Hendrix (rock) 4. Charli Chaplain (comedy) Is there a song request form? I'd like to see you react to Prince's "18 and Over"
Britt, He was Elvis, James Brown, Little Richard, Bowie and Hendrix, Lenin and Springsteen all in one! Only God could be Chef on that one! You said it women wanted to be with him and men wanted to be like him! Like MJ a ton, but that line is why Prince is is GOAT. Love the reaction! His shows were unreal, and it kills me to think of the pain the man endured as a result.
I became a prince lover at age 8 in 1980. I can't tell you why. I was all in. This is before Little Red Corvette and Purple Rain. So when those hit i'm like "i told ya'll so". I saw him in concert in 1985. My friends Mom drove us to the concert and waited in the stands for us. It was the best concert of my life to this day. And one thing i love is that I was all in on Prince early. When people criticized him, called him names, and then when he became one of the world's biggest, then a pure legend i was just like, "I told ya'll 15 years ago...When i was 8. I know talent!" And it is great to see that decades later people truly appreciate his talent. Cause honesty, early on some people didn't believe us kids. But he was a force like James Brown and Little Richard before him.
GIRL, you get it!!! Prince was on an entirely different level than us mere mortals. And yes, every show is like a party. He was a pure entertainer and performer. Larger than life. And he was an insanely prolific musical prodigy. As an 80’s girl, he was the pinnacle for me (and there was a lot of great stuff in the 80’s!). I loved your reaction.
I am sad that you never got to see Prince while he was with us, but so happy that you and your generation will make sure his music and his extraordinary talent will never be forgotten! Thank you❤
Love me some Prince. Some people tried to hate on him, but nobody could ever take away his talent or his intelligence. At the start of his public career, he was shy and rarely spoke. Check out some of his older interviews, he's very interesting. 😊
Such a great theatrical sense. He's a performer in every sense of the word! I feel like performing really brought out the best version of Prince, even though he's a prodigious songrwiter too. He's not doing James Brown, he's pulling out Nicholas Brothers dance moves.
I was blessed to go to 4 for Prince's concert! I AM a total fan of Prince, because like you said ,I didn't have the time or energy to be a fan of anyone else. I am in awe of him, I wonder him all the time.
The best! I saw his live shows 42 times (!) or 43 ..I lost the count.. but EVERY show was unique, intense, 100% party! An experience! I am so blessed having seen him and his shows.. Look at his Baby I’m A Star in Tokyo 1990! You who love the tamborims: there they are!! 💜
I remember my teenage years people would talk about PRINCE energy in shows...it was written that he would have B12 injection. This particular time period was early 80's....
Britt, you would absolutely melt! Prince - Unplugged. Prince, an acoustic guitar, in an intimate setting. His humor shines as he interacts with the audience. It’s so beautiful.
TexasMagnolia, I failed to also mention 2 things to your great post...if Britt views that Unplugged Prince show, she will suspend all other PDC considerations until further notice! Secondly, and to ask, have you seen his Muppet Show brilliance. So great!
@Brittreacts , I love that you get it , even if late to the party lol ( it’s always on time in the bigger picture ) I could throw accolades at Prince all day and still not be done a week from now . However , among many of this talents , the fact that dude is a ball of pure elastic energy ,( he’s a springbok ) on stage is often over looked ( only because he is so talented that his own talents overshadow each other . The only guy that dude was in competition with ( while loving a challenge) was with himself 💜💜💜 P is one of the truest artist’s whom has ever stepped foot on the planet earth 🌏
Dang I miss Prince. He had it all. Awesome musician, singer, dancer, performer, entertainer… everything. He just felt the music. You can’t watch him and not smile. When will we ever get performers like this again?
You would absolutely love the live performance of "Forever" from the Sign Of The Time album. It has tambourines and Sheila E and a great performance. My all time favorite
When he first came on the scene there was a lot of questioning about him in terms of his sexuality, his race and he put all that into his song Controversy literally having lyrics that read.. I cant believe what people say, am I black or white? am I straight or gay? The man loved to express himself in whatever way he saw fit and really didnt give a #$%# whether you liked him or not, he was going to do his thing how he wanted to do it.
Yes, everyone else had concerts while Prince had parties. You mentioned the energy and the amazing thing was. He detested lip syncers and everything they did was live yet he never sounded winded or out of breath. I saw him live several times and like his music or not. There was and will never be a better live performer. After seeing his concerts, it was hard to go to any other concert because they will never live up to a Prince concert
Thanks for all your kind words about Prince. I went to a couple of concerts here in the Netherlands and they were 🔥. It really is a great loss. His music and songs are just on another level.
It's the energy - ALWAYS, the energy... everytime I think about his passing I just can't comprehend that creative, healing, loving energy is missing from this planet it's just devestating. At least we have the music and these videos here to remind us of what is possible!
Prince was the best performer I ever saw live. It was a par-tay! I give Beyonce 2nd place because I never got to see Michael. At one show, Prince performed and then came back out to perform some more after it was over. We were still there just waiting for the crowd to thin out. It was maybe 10 to 15 minutes after the lights were on & everyone left. He had changed his clothes and called everyone left in the venue down to the floor. It was amazing! 😍
PRINCE Just had IT,,,,i always said this Dude had to be from another Planet because of his other-worldy Talent,,,,The World did'nt deserve him but the World was very fortunate to have had this Dude & i'm happy & proud to have witnessed him & his GENIUS 😃🤘😃🤘
I only found out his insane talent and appreciated him in the last year also. I wish I was born a lot earlier to experience seeing Prince, I find it crazy how talented he was but also just how much charisma and energy he had. One of a kind for sure
Great live video reaction!!! I have seen Prince 7 times in concert and it was a different Party every time!! Love this! Thank you!! **requesting a reaction to the song Revelation by Prince, from the Hit and Run album 💜💜💜
Prince was truly, truly special…..so gifted, so incredibly talented. Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, George Michael, and Phil Collins were the Top 5 solo artists of the 1980s with Whitney Houston not far behind. Prince was one of the most iconic music stars ever. I salute HIS PURPLE HIGHNESS!! 🫡🤩
If you saw Prince live multiple times like myself, you get It. I worked in the industry, but Prince Live would blow away most artists I ever had the pleasure to work with or see. His talent, his stage presence, and his charisma just off the charts, not to mention his musicianship. Prince lived music 24/7, just that much of a creative genius.
Prince was the 80's and 90's set to music. He was the soundtrack of my youth. I remember "Partying like it's 1999" when 1999 was in the distant future and not the distant past.
I have loved Prince for years, will never be another!💜 U have to stay on his acoustical performances for a minute. His musicology tour he did a full performance at Webster Hall that u have to see, the "full" performance. I see u had clips in past post but must watch the full thing, kinda short but sooo good. He's so adorable with the audience. Please give it a go...can't wait to see your reaction!
Prince… Easily my favourite musician. Every day it kills me knowing he’s no longer here. But I’m proud to have been born when he was producing great music.
For some really stellar tambourine choreography, check out the soundcheck video for this performance. It was during the daytime, and the cameras caught a lot more of the tambourine playing. After the part you saw here, they actually throw the tambourines up again, but about 5 times higher the second time.

Prince was the consummate performer. In the end, it took its toll on his body. He ended up with hip problems which is one of the reasons he started taking pain pills. I've seen him in concert 3 times and last time he sat the entire time because he could no longer dance like that. It didn't matter, he could still sing play all the instruments, and do Prince things.

@@tracyface1999 Was referring to his dancing abilities being on par with the levels of MJ & JB.
James Brown was one of his influences. Man was just an all out entertainer.
MJs catalog is soooo short. Music for ages with 0(->
For real though prince was WAYYYY ahead of the pack...including MJ and JAMES...yeah i said it!@@tracyface1999

This is what you call a ARTIST. A PERFORMER!!!
Prince was unbelievable! So much talent packed into one entity that will never be equaled or forgotten. 💜
Prince had so much charisma! I absolutely loved him. He is missed by so many die-hard fans. 💜😢💜

Prince put on the best concerts! There was never a dull moment, his song Diamonds and Pearls gives you a different genre that is fantastic.
I saw him in 1997 on the jam of the year tour,Prince was all energy.
The best artists make the most difficult parts in any performance look easy, Prince made it look effortless!
I grew up in the 70's and 80's. Don't be jealous, just relive it through the videos. 😁
Genius. Gift. Blessed human being. R.I.P, King….

One of the best appearences I saw from Prince was his show on NAACP award show 2005 , with Sheila E, Morris Day & Jerome etc.
Prince, in his prime. Before the drugs, the hype and disbelief in himself.
Look at his JOYOUS performance. One of my favorite songs. R.I.P..
I saw Prince a year later in London with the same band on the Diamonds and Pearls Tour. It was truly remarkable.
He’s been like that since day one!
This is from a Special Olympics performance. The dancers are called The Game Boyz. I have seen Prince live at lest 10 times

I would love to see you do some of the prince's lesser played works like thieves in the temple or party man
Prince was the reason I learned to dance and I mean REALLY dance.
Such a wonderful reaction! Spot on. As you said he supercedes everything.

The Brutha was both a Man’s Man and a Lady’s Man. I was on the Purple Rain Tour and I saw with my own eyes the genius of Prince!
nobody, and I MEAN nobody can match this level, not even MJ , this guy is UNIC
For your next detour down the Prince rabbit hole, check out ANY of his acoustic performances.
best live performer EVER!!
You got it….a big party!
It's the energy - ALWAYS, the energy... everytime I think about his passing I just can't comprehend that creative, healing, loving energy is missing from this planet it's just devestating. At least we have the music and these videos here to remind us of what is possible!
You've stated that you enjoy the tambourine... its ironic that Prince literally has a song on the around the world in a day cd titled Tambourine.

Omg I love prince . Dolly parton recently did a rock album. She covered prince's purple rein and did a beautiful cover. Dolly loved prince's music
I only found out his insane talent and appreciated him in the last year also. I wish I was born a lot earlier to experience seeing Prince, I find it crazy how talented he was but also just how much charisma and energy he had. One of a kind for sure

I've never heard this "long" version of this song. Thank You. I wonder if Prince knew how many people loved him so much.
It really warms my heart when I see the special Olympians dancing to his music. The world lost a great musician and an even better person

That's what I'm talking about Britt. I'm from Minnesota. More Prince.
I LOVE YOUR REACTIONS TO PRINCE 😂❤ you are high energy and hilarious and very knowledgeable
And deliver almost every night
I'll put a deep bow to them RIP 🌹🙏❤️🔥☮️
Prince was the 80's and 90's set to music. He was the soundtrack of my youth. I remember "Partying like it's 1999" when 1999 was in the distant future and not the distant past.
It was a 15 minute concert for the special Olympics. That much energy though is unreal.

Best two concerts I ever went to💜
When it comes to Prince you can watch 12 different performances of the same song and never see the same performance, original everytime
You cannot manufacture genius. It is inborn, and once witnessed? it isn't easily forgotten.
Godspeed for a talent that only comes once.
Prince… Easily my favourite musician. Every day it kills me knowing he’s no longer here. But I’m proud to have been born when he was producing great music.

You got that right.
The level of stamina is incredible
As far as the “dancing in heels thing” goes, Prince and Tina Turner DEFINITELY got Beyoncé beat. She got some big pumps to fill.
he was brilliant!
I went to 3 of those massive parties 😊and they were unbelievable, 87, 97, 2004💜💜💜💜
Britt, check out Prince's performance of 'Head' from The Controversy Tour, Houston 81'!
IMO, and it's been my opinion since I was literally 6 years old. This was, and always will be, the single most, beautiful man to ever walk the planet. He takes my breath away. 💜
Great reaction, Britt! I knew you would love the tambourines and splits - haha! He was just the best to ever do it 💜💜💜
Prince's main shows were only the party starters : his after shows in smaller venues used to start 2 hours after the main show (ususally around 11 or 12PM and ended around 3 or 4AM).
Don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine
Purple music does the same to my brain
And I'm high, so high
Prince - Purple Music
Plenty more where this came from!💜
Never ,ever in the history of Princedom, has he ever just "mailed it in" or lip synched. He went full steam ahead ,every concert, show,he wasbl forever on 10.
10 on 💯 and the love 💜♊️
You would love the small venue concerts he did he would throw tambourines to the audience with the symbol on it the band early in his his career was the the revolution after new power generation the Shells E performance was the Time
Fashion Sense: If there were a hall of fame for fashion, Prince would surely be a first-ballot inductee. His sense of fashion is as unique as his music.
Fashion goes a long way in establishing a memorable image in pop culture, and Prince mastered it.
This is a man who wears high heels at almost every public appearance. Silk and velvet suits in colors like purple or red are regulars in his wardrobe.
I mean …. Dayum 💜
Have you ever checked out his Superbowl Halftime performance? By far the best halftime show in Superbowl history and in the rain to boot. You should check it out if you haven't.
I didn't know I needed this video on Monday morning on the treadmill!! 😂
Lol, Prince has a song called Tambourine
If you want a live that will make you blush watch his live performance of Head in Detroit his birthday celebration
You should react to more of Prince
This group including the 3 male dancers are the New Power Generation that were also with him in 'Cream'
Prince concerts we usually 2 1/2 hours to 3 hours. The her would go to a club and do another 99 minute concert starting at 3 AM

Prince and Sheila E
Great Concert !!!
✨Ultimate Genius ✨
On the Purple Rain album, the song Lets go Crazy and this song bleed together and its fun to hear them together. 😅
were on MJ hook but Prince got ya...did that to me when grow older
