@@G-Rated I think the control most EVs have plus instant torque enables them to get the most out of any surface, especially the AWD versions.
The Corvette would always struggle against them on anything less than a perfect surface.

Z06 sound comparison , hands down. I went from a plaid to a C8 the C8 1/2 the power and twice the fun. Recently got a 23’ Z06 and having the time of my life.
Electric ⚡️ is the future I will miss the sound for sure. God Bless all you Car lovers out there.

I have a GT-Performance. It's a wonderful car, super comfy and goes like mad.

Screaming performance, if I'm buying an expensive vehicle I want to showoff with it, a loud engine helps in that, it also looks better and would completely demolish the ev in an actual proper track race because that's where it’s designed to perform in
The ev's however better if you have a big family and also want to showoff your unexpected high performance to people in such drag races

@@harriska when you're in drag race yes, when you're in track however then the scenario would be different, then the Z06 driver will see the ev in the rear view mirror, or maybe he won't because he will be so far ahead that the ev won't be even in the frame, the result varies a lot depending on the type of race
Performance is not simular give the zo6 1000hp then redo the race

Fun stuff! I love my Lucid and have driven a few twisty mountain roads, but haven't tried a track day yet. I have no doubt that the corvette would paste the Lucid on a lap time comparison but would love to see the big 4-door electric give a proper lap time at any widely known track.
I'd say if you want an EV 4 door that can hold its own on a track, probably the model S plaid w/ track pack. At least that's the best we got. It's among the fastest 4 doors to lap the ring and has the fastest 4 door time round willow.
What lucid do you have?
@@Anuhassss The Grand Touring. I got mine before the GT Performance version came out so I have "only" 812hp, but somehow that's quite enough :-)
@@thedumbconspirator4956 I suspect the Lucid GTP would be at least close to the Plaid at the 'Ring, and the Sapphire will quite likely be a good bit quicker. The Lucid has a much better suspension and brakes. I hope Lucid make a run at the record this year.
@@Miata822 I don't think the lucid can keep up with a plaid round a track (sapphire maybe). The lucid is a lot more comfortable and luxurious and as such, it's far heavier. Lucid is a 5200 lb car, plaids "only" 4800 lbs in comparison, that's a 400 lb minimum weight difference and the sapphire is likely to be even heavier. And yes, while the plaids standard brakes are garbage, their carbon ceramics are pretty remarkable and I have no doubt it's gonna brake and handle better than any lucid air trim, though the sapphire does have the straight line grunt, that being said I'm curious to see how the lucid fares on the 'ring. I think it's gonna beat the taycan, but there's an 8 second gap between the taycan and plaid and my guess is it'll fall within those 8 seconds, though I'm not a fortune teller.

What a great car the Lucid is... and I say that as a 2023 C8 owner!! Loved the video and wasn't surprised at all the results, including the breaking test. I hope Lucid kicks Tesla's A__! It is so much a better car, and it is beautiful!

Don't get me wrong. The Lucid is an interesting piece of engineering, but it's just not an exciting or good-looking car.

For real? You must not have seen many electric cars drag racing. Most are able to do 9 sec 1/4 miles!
@@nezabytes Um, no. Most electric cars do nowhere near 9 second quarter mile times. Very few can do that. And besides, roll racing is not quarter mile times. Roll racing largely takes away an electric car's advantage of instant torque from a stop. Apples and oranges, kiddo.
A roll race really is a matter of power to weight ratio. With the Lucid at roughly 1100hp, I'm not surprised by the result.
Let's do the twisties and see how that extra weight fares against the c8 :)

Rory I have an idea for a episode. Would it be possible to do a fast lap using the clutch and gearing for breaking only. No break peddle allowed. I always thought it could be possible but haven't got the balls to try it out. 😮

Keep in mind, it's 1050 horsepower vs 670 at the end of the day. Almost 400 horsepower more is nothing to scoff at, weight aside. The Z06 did pretty well against the Lucid in my opinion. Rematch when the ZR1 and Zora Corvettes are released in a couple of years and this outcome will look quite different. And they will both be cheaper than the Lucid.
Z06 didn't stand a chance, its a one trick pony made only for racing and EV sedans can beat it at its terrain, try doing a road trip with 5 people in the Z06
Z06 is a two seat track toy vs a premium luxury sedan. They're not really comparable... I can't wait to see electric 2 seat sports cars arrive like the MG Cyberster!

In all seriousness, I find it somewhat sad to see even the most advanced Corvettes getting smoked by multiple other vehicles. Most Corvettes are simply no longer top competitors, anymore.
It's really quite amazing, when you consider that Vettes were once considered the peak of American sports cars.
So try that race around a Road Vourse or try a Top End Run and maybe do 10 - 12 runs in quarter the batteries will die on Lucid
How about the E-Ray?
For the streets I would take that Lucid but for the track I would run with the Zo6 all day 🤙🏽
