This tragedy bonded the two women for life, and the 6 year old will well know about the Man who saved his life. Hero is often misused but not this one, He gave his life to save another, John 15:13 says it well. I am a veteran and stand and salute this man for the respect and honor he deserves!!!

He was definitely a hero. And his wife is a beautiful soul for saying that she’s glad he did it, too, even knowing that now her kids don’t have a father. ♥️ A go fund me should be set up for the hero and his family.
This is definitely one I would donate my last dollar to if I had the opportunity. I respect this man and his family that much and don't even know them. For the wife to say he would do it again and again says alot about his character. His children should be honored for his courage. He made the ultimate sacrifice!😢

100% too feel horrible. He is a true hero for saving the life. Just on another note, a rip current will never pull you down under water. There is no need to panic. The best escape is to turn sideways to the shore, and wade or swim until you are out of the rip current. Then move back toward shore at an angle away from the rush of water. Surprised some people don't know that.

@@dangelochuang5445 it’s just a very touching yet unfortunate situation. Truth is nobody “sent” that man to do anything. He “chose” to sacrifice himself to save that kid. His family will suffer from it, but they will always be proud of what he did and who he was in general.
But what about sending and angel for this man who had nothing but good intentions and put his life on the line to save a child?...

This is horrible. I am glad they mentioned counseling. This is so traumatic for all involved. Survivor's guilt is devastating. Losing one's father and husband is devastating. There is a very long road of recovery for these families.
There's also a chance for a lucky man to become an instant dad and hook up with the moms

As someone who has jumped into a raging rapid river to save a a grown man he has my respect and died a true hero saving those children God has your back sir some people don't realize the balls it takes to be selfless sometimes

@@charlesneal1264 When I was in my late teens, I remember one summer day when I was out in the beach that was a little packed. So instead of using my surfboard, I just decided to "bodysurf" a little. Seeing as how back then I was in the the water every other day, I figured it was just another day. Come to my surprise of all the humans out there in the water that afternoon, this ~10 year old on his boogie board, lost his cool, I could see it on his face. He kept crying out for his sister, and was begging me to tow him closer to shore. I didn't think to realize he might of been fine since the current wasn't that bad, the waves were in the 3-4ft range, and he was on a boogie. But I decided to try to help him out, big mistake. I barley towed him 5 feet and I was GASED OUT! I would have never believed a kid that was probably no more than 70lbs in a near zero gravity condition, could drain you out so quick in the water (granted I was a buck 30 (130) and barely 5'5 then, probably not much more now).
As soon as i told him I needed a break, his sister showed up and asked what was going on, I told her your bro is asking for you, she ended up taking him back to shore, but that day was just one of my many introductions into respecting the water. Unfortunately, there were many others that came after, much worse.
I wish that woman with artificial tears Will have a respect for that Hero man family ! Her kids destroy beautiful family ! Wish it was different end.. and that woman will be cry in real about her SON death and not Husband and father of another family

People like him are true heroes. 19 years ago I lost a friend when he drowned saving a little kid. The sad thing about my friend’s death, he wasn’t hailed a hero by the town for saving someone at the cost of his own life. 😢

I'm in tears 😭💔 What a wonderful soul he was. Breaks my heart into pieces that this very good, good man is no longer with us on this Earth, that his children lost a great father and his wife her husband ...while bad people are still out there being given chance after chance.

Number 1 rule I was taught growing up around airboats the adults always said kids put a life jacket on so we don't have to die trying to save someone and if you arent a good swimmer best to keep a life jacket with you ...Makes a rescue much easier be mindful on the water.

My condolence to a true hero. Between all the pain it gives hope that the families stand together. In my eyes the wife is a true hero too, instead of trying to find someone guilty she stands with the other family and comforts the people who are feeling guilty (in the end it was a horrible accident and i hope that an autopsy takes away some of the bad feelings, cause it sounds like a medical disaster while trying to reach the little boy and that could have happened in any other situation too). if there were more people like that family, the world could be such a wonderful and peaceful place
