Honestly I find combo decks to be incredibly boring and unfun after you see their gimmick the first time, especially in a format like Brawl, but still liking the video because Historic Brawl content and because you're such a fantastic deck builder! Also most First Sliver players don't actually play other Slivers anymore. Hell queue players have figured out that they can sneak their boring 5 color good stuff control piles out of hell queue if they use First Sliver as their commander instead of something like Golos or Niv.
First Sliver is almost as good as Golos anyway. The free spell + a 7/7 is kind of insane on turn 4 every time. I just auto-scoop to it unless I'm playing blue, and even then it's a slog.
If mobile drops it takes ages to get the game back up (including moving to get signal better). This deck looks amazing, I want to build it, but it's so many rares I lack.
I play a variation of this deck, however I'm also playing Karn the Great Creator and Orthanc with some expensive delve cards too. opponents milling my dead drop always makes me chuckle
I didn't have a ton of luck playing Ashiok in Historic Brawl, but in Standard Brawl, they're my go-to commander. Demonic Bargain exiles enough cards from your deck to exile the opponent's entire deck in a single blow.
I'm surprised that I haven't seen a deck run Demonic Bargain with the new Ashiok, its biggest downside gets turned into a plus with her as you need to exile the top 13 cards from your library to tutor something.

Flipping Catapult Fodder doesn't happen often, but we do have enough high toughness creatures that it can happen, but with only 16 total creatures it's rare.
... Before watching, I have to wonder if you ever combo off, exile your entire deck, then exile the opponent's deck, go to pass turn, and then have the opponent hit you with a targeted draw for the deepest irony loss. I suspect now, I doubt many decks run targeted draw, but it'd still be funny.

Historic Brawl is a pure sugar format, but I often warm up with it to make sure I'm not gonna lose a ranked game to lag or my computer overheating. This looks like a deck I'd actually enjoy picking up, and which would be good at serving that purpose. EDIT: Also, I think you're not supposed to know the mana value of the cards exiled when using Necropotence, since it exiles face down. It's probably technically wrong that the Ashiok UI tells you, though it doesn't matter in this case, since in paper you'd just exile your deck and trust it to be enough.
Nah the cards exiled facedown by Necropotence aren't being added to Ashiok's counter, its just that its exiling two face up first by the Life cost replacement effect
I am okay with Historic Brawl being non-ranked. This way there are more fun decks in the format instead of what's happened with EDH where cEDH has just homogonized the format into 2 or 3 decks. I also like being able to scoop as soon as I see a blue Commander so I don't have to waste my time playing against control and just losing because they have near infinite counters and ways to draw cards at instant speed
I think competitive brawl would be great because it would let all the try hard commanders Duke it out in that que, and when your just testing a janky deck you can play in the normal historic brawl.

See, for me it’s the opposite- it kinda’ sucks to invest time and energy into making a powerful deck and then having to wade through many, many jank decks to finally get a win that doesn’t feel like bullying. (Edit- I don’t mean this to insult jank decks. 95% of the decks I play are jank, and honestly those are just more fun the way the format currently works).

I was looking for another black Fling effect, but I don't think there is one on Arena. Callous Sell-Sword is close, but the red adventure mode ruins it because of color identity.

Personal opinion is digital only cards should only appear in the Alchemy queue, not historic or brawl, "Alchemy" cards that are real paper cards like Lord of the rings or Baldurs Gate are fine

Yea, Ashiok has such a different play pattern! It tutor's necro, casts necro, then wins the game! That's so much different than all the cEDH decks that...cast necro...then win the game.
I mean in theory yea but it's histpric brawl people interact with you, necro can only combo if ashiok can ultimate and you can only ult ashiok at sorcery speed meaning you would need 8 loyalty to combo safely which assuming 1 prolif is still 2 turns to deal with it, which any high power hbrawl deck should be able to do.
I think you overvalue Necropotence. Sure you don'[t pay a life, but you lose half your cards. Two gets exiled, only one comes back. I would think mill would destroy you.
The cards don't need to come back to win, you're trying to lose ALL the cards when you overuse Necropotence, for Ashiok's ultimate Frankly he should be holding priority so that he can just hard-mill the entire deck(the life cost mills come before the card resolves, so putting ninty activations on the stack mills the whole deck, fizzles all the face-down banishs, and primes Ashiok's kill shot)

How to support Historic Brawl actually make it multiplayer. Play vs three other people. Rank doesn’t matter when golden is given so easily.
Multiplayer on mtga would ne be amazing, but as the game currently struggles to keep up good performance at 2 players, imagine with 3, 4, 5 etc.

I think the red in its Adventure cost prevents you from running it in Mono-Black Ashiok
Sellsword's color identity is BR, you can't play it in a mono-Black commander/brawl deck.
