    Hi Andy, well that seems to have worked out well, everything worked except for the lighter which I'm sure you will replace. The morning sunrise was spectacular over the moor, just put's you in another place and frame of mind for the day ahead. Thanks for sharing, take care Paul

      Hi , yes, the clouds parted, and this burst off sunlight hit us . The windchill factor was unpleasant. I have some kit to upgrade, but I think I will be able to live out of my system for an extended period. Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy

    Very good advice all round. Wild Animals need to feed also. If you have a tester you can be sure of clean water. A good method for backpacks is find a rock about waist Hight, not always available!

    Nice video mate . Just point out that hydropac makes several different flexible water bags that are designed to except that filter even upto 4ltr. Hope you enjoy the west Highland way it's a great walk but I fear all that weight in those packs is going to tear ur feet to bits on the hard pack trail especially when ur boots get wet. Gd luck though

      Hi, I am new to these types of filters, I have used boiling and tablets in the past. I will look at your suggestions. Thanks for the valuable advice . I am also worried about weight, but unlike most people, we only plan on 10 miles a day. Hopefully our training will pay off. If not, you might see teats on camera...lol.Many thanks for watching and commenting. Much appreciated. Andy.

      Hi , I have used the outdoors for recreation all my life, and it's been a blessing to me. I am sure you have many a tale from your younger day's that would be interesting to hear also.we have all lived different and varied life's. I don't have expensive or good camera gear, but hopefully, it captures the beauty and experience of me wandering around in the outdoors to share with you and others. Appreciate your comment and watching the video. Andy.

      @@hiddenvalleyfootpaths2561 In my younger days I worked 20 years for a corn and agricultural merchant delivering animal feeds to to farms in Derbyshire and all the surrounding shires so the countryside was my office.

      @geoff2212 Hi , I would have loved driving around the countryside as you did. As a younger man I was stuck in a factory environment. Thanks again. Andy.

      HI, It's not unusual to find slugs or insects where you don't want them. Probably would not want to know what climbs over you at night while asleep also. The one good thing about camping is .....when home your bed feels like pure luxury. Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.

    Are you taking that backpack on the WHW ?

      Hi , yeah its my training and actual pack i am hitting the trail with. We are travelling at about 10 miles a day and expecting to do it in 10 days with a middle rest period in a pub to have a clean up and rest period.
      This means we are not moving at the normal pace and speed but at a really slow pace.
      I have 12 years of experience living and operating out a similar bergen so hopefully it will work out.
      Basically probably the slowest old guys on the trail....lol .Thanks for watching and commenting .Andy

    oh and someone I watch did the WHW this year and had a mouse chew through her tent, you might want to double bag your food

      Hi, thanks for the advice and tip regarding food.....I can't afford to waste food on freeloading rodents . I have watched a few videos on the West Highland way and it's going to be a challenge for me now. I am 55 and .....let's say not in my prime fitness anymore. Hopefully, our training will help out. Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.

      @hiddenvalleyfootpaths2561 I'm 62 and now have health issues and I think my hiking days are over, my only advice would be remember it's winter with shorter days so you might not be able to cover as much mileage each day as you think

    • @hiddenvalleyfootpaths2561
      @hiddenvalleyfootpaths2561  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @LezleysAdventures Hi, I must admit I have a vision of trail blazing, but in reality as you suggested, I might be at a snails pace...lol.Andy.
