Just finished Gaiden last night. Few things in life move me to tears. Kiryu moved me to tears in that last scene. Having lost a father myself, I felt the man's pain to my core. All those years of struggle, wasting away in prison, facing and cheating death countless times, dueling some of the most powerful and evil men on Earth, grinding through all those miserable minigames...Kiryu endured the impossible like a man...like a dragon. But then, you see the true humanity in him when he finds out that those kids he raised...they all turned out great. They all learned from his example as a strong and loving father. With his promise to Yumi fulfilled, I think he can die a happy man if that is his fate in Infinite Wealth.
I’ve beaten six RGG games now, but this one’s story hit me way harder than any others so far. Hearing Kiryu trying to talk while he’s sobbing was a tiger drop to my emotions
Gaiden might currently be my favorite game in the series. It was absolutely fantastic with a great hard hitting ending and one of the best final bosses of the whole series. It's such a fun fight.
I'd seen this recommended and waited until I finished the game and YES THIS HAS BROKEN ME I CRIED LIKE A BABY DURING THE VIDEO I AM INCONSOLABLE I LOVE THIS SERIES
This game is the beginning of his solo adventures with the agency. But he will end up having to take them all out after hearing what the man in the wheel chair say as kiryu was about to leave the dojo
Nothing. Absolutely nothing phases Kiryu. Its almost comical how many people threaten the orphanage and it just makes him even more angry. But this ending... it broke him and me both down hard.
You know, people could argue about the Yumi and the ring stuff, but I think it's just Yokoyama-san putting in a call-back to the original Yakuza 1. The PS2 Yakuza 1.
Ichiban is cool, kiryu is a legend though so I’ll always favor him! Plus I like the brutal combat he’s known for over the turn based rpg that’s going with ichiban
Feels weird seeing kazuma speak English now in infinite wealth, being in Hawaii and him looking different . But great spin off gaiden. I thought his story was over in 6 but good that they bring him back
Anyone playing these games in dub are not Yakuza fans. Why would you miss the opportunity to experience Nishki and Kiryu getting to go on adventure for old times sake in Infinite Wealth?
tbh the it's time to put yakuza to rest is kinda cheapened bt the fact that, only omi and tojo are put to rest, there are still a lot of yakuza clans like seiryu and yomei alliance. and also infinite wealth trailer mentions that this time ,THIS TIME, they're really gonna put it all to rest.
The Omi and Tojo were the only real dominate Yakuza groups we've seen at least in Japan, the Seiryu (at least before Yakuza 7) and the Yomei are just kinda chilling off on their own, the Tojo and Omi were the biggest ones with the most influence, also they're the ones we've known the longest too especially since the crackdown laws affected them more than any other Yakuza group too
I still don't know how to feel about this game. Like 6 was supposed to be our farewell to kiryu. But then I play this game and I love it, the collesium is so dope and the story was actually quite good but then again it doesn't address anything for the future of the series. And as a die hard yakuza fan who hates turn based combat, I'm concerned.
To be honest Gaiden is basically the last game we see Kiryu as this unstoppable juggernaut and it puts a nail in the coffin of the current state of Yakuza affairs since now in modern Japan you have Yakuza groups do two things: Either they turn to extra-legal work as security companies or detective agencies or they stay the same and get watch like a hawk till the end of days. Gaiden is basically the offical death of the age of where organized crime from its biggest groups get put to death and then rebirth into extra-legal organizations that will carry the old yakuza Ideals with new convictions that match up with today's times.
@@myriadbIadesit’s more like House of the dead meets RE6 with chunkier frames. Great game though. Kenzan is also phenomenal, arguably even better than Ishin. Even with a guide I’d give it a go.
I broke down like a mess when he start crying, this game is a MASTERPIECE
meee
ME TOO BRO I CRIED FOR ABOUT A MINUTE OR SO
The final boss fight is a masterpiece bro
Literally Aizawa but better
Aizawas fight and theme was pretty Awsome tho, Top tier indeed. Shishidos is exquisite aswell
This boss fight and the nishiki one are my favorite in the series
I enjoyed the final boss, but I kinda just tiger dropped him like 40 times in a row lmao.
@@OneDumbOrangeCat That just means you're a Real Yakuza/Detective

I was full on ugly-crying right alongside Kiryu during that ending.

I hope they allow him to be happy in the end, Yakuza 8 is looking great, Gaiden was great. January cannot come soon enough.
love the vid. very well done. thank you so much for this :)
This is the only Yakuza game I just get right back in and play it again without new game plus, it's so fun
This game is the beginning of his solo adventures with the agency. But he will end up having to take them all out after hearing what the man in the wheel chair say as kiryu was about to leave the dojo
It sorta ruined my life too, I've been hooked on this game for weeks😂
Shishido's fight was amazing. But i hit him with the "im not gonna sugarcoat it yakuza style + r1 + triangle" and 2-shot him
WE HEREEEEEEEEE JOSHHHH
🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉
Man this game was an absolute masterpiece
Agent Style basically lets you be Amon in a Yakuza game.

THANK YOU BOSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Great video Josh 🙏
for people dont see why this game is the best of the series gamespot do a homenage of the fate of kiryu kazuma
Whaddya mean Kiryu, thats my man Joryu there
Ichiban is cool, kiryu is a legend though so I’ll always favor him! Plus I like the brutal combat he’s known for over the turn based rpg that’s going with ichiban
Absolutely, that's when Judgment came in. Love that series - hopefully there is a part 3.
At this point like a dragon writers are on par with spider-man writers for how much they make the protagonist suffer
I think this is gonna be the best yakuza after zero. But the ending hits extra hard if you have played Yakuza 3.
Spoiler
When kiryu saw the kids grow up it almost got me crying
Than the drawing came up and i went uwahhhhhhhhhhh😭😭😭
🙏

Use sub
he was never gone, yakuza 6 and 7 arent even that old
Imagine playing Yakuza Gaiden on DUB. 😂😅

I need a gaiden with Akiyama and Saejima
