Keep in mind the RV industry these converters were designed for. It's mostly older tech that puts out about 13.4(-/+) at aprox 4 amps. Which can cook - damage lithium or modern battery banks.

Absolutely. I tell all my customers that want to go lithium to put in a charger that is designed for those specific batteries and toss that converter. Very good point!

I have two of those powermax. One in my rv does the 12 volt side and i use another 24 volt powermax for extra 50 amp 110 charging when solar isnt great.

That's a great idea! Is your 24v and 12v systems completely separated?

@@jaysonstebbins2539 I actually have a 30 kw and a 14 kw battery I've made myself that's 24 volt which runs two inverters. One is a 4000 watt split phase and the other is a 3000 watt 120 only all in one. I hooked the split phase low frequency sungold power inverter to the breaker box in the camper and removed the jumper wire in the fuse box. Everything is still 110 volts but it allowed me to run my 220 volt mini split and the rest of the camper from that single 4000 watt inverter. The powmr 3000 inverter is basically not used but it is hooked up to the battery also in case I ever wanted to power anything else that maybe needed 110 but was gonna over load my sungold. I use 3 large victron charge controllers and 3200 watts of ground deploy panels on tilt racks. And a victron DC to DC charger so I can charge between my two different batteries if ever needed. The 30 kw is made from 280 eve cells and the 14 kw is made from Nissan leaf modules. The whole 12 volt side of the camper is all still in place and functions as normal and the only changes I made is I upgraded the 50 amp 12 volt charger power supply to a powermax 100 amp. I liked the powermax so much that I bought a 24 volt 50 amp model so that I can get a extra 50 amps of charging from the generator if it was ever needed. I've been building out this camper now for a little over 2 years and it's finally to the point of being off grid capable all the time and using the mini split for heat and cooling with it running non stop 24 7. It's been an expensive hobby but it's been worth it lol.

@xLifeOnTheRoadx I don't have any lithium batteries to test this on and also I only have the 12v version. I'm sorry.

@@xLifeOnTheRoadx the 24 volt powermax does an awesome job charging my 840 ah lifepo4 bank. It's 3p8s with a 200 amp jk BMS. I used the eve grade a 280k cells from 18650 battery store and so far they are great. I also use a lot of victron charge controllers and DC to DC charger from time to time but the powermax is my go to charger when I need a 110 volt plug in charge
