i actually loved the memories since it gave all the characters a decent amount of depth (although I'm still around mid game). the quest system actually confused me as I accidentally explored the underground zone before getting the quest to chase gun girl and forgot about and ended up lost. the biggest problem with the memories sequences is theyre too long with some unnecessary parts and theres too many making it tedious (but as tedious as reading item descriptions for lore in DS). its fun and unique which is something i wish more games did.
I liked them too, but I wish they did it in a different manner, the memories were basically exposition dumps that you had to slow walk through. I liked the fact that it gives characters more life and background, but make if they take so long to walk through, you might as well make it a full cutscene.
I thought for a second that would be the plot twist. Like... "Oh, so that's where the blood unit in 2 came from" But then I realized they were just recycling models :'C

You know whatever since I played this game I've always wondered who would win in a fight. I god eater or a revenant. And the revenant doesn't have to get ashed to lose in this fight.
Honestly the party member is exactly what made God Eater so much better than monster hunter for me. It ease you into the game until you get into the groom and try out all the stuff solo instead.

Best title I can think of, bought this on release and immediately picked up darks souls 3 and all DLC and beat them afterwards. Regardless of the weeb appeal it's the best souls beginner game to start with.
This was harder for me than the souls games. All the bosses have some kind of 360 attack that has almost no wind-up. But mostly it's because I didn't play with Yakumo.
The character customization is easily the most in-depth and deserves praise. I just hope some other anime games will go as in-depth as they have here. A good example is with the layers you can apply to eyes and such, it’s just insane. Only 15 minutes?? I spent a bit more basing my character off of a special person in my life lol. One surprising thing is that you can’t adjust the bust size, it’s pretty hefty by default and I was gonna tone it down a tad
I see you also understand how cheese almost ALL of the bosses are with Yakumo lol. It got to the point where I would see people with Yakumo also using his bloodcode as their own and still dying, thinking how they could be so bad at the game

I think the lag in the vestige memories might just be something in the PC version, because when I played it on the PS4, I never ran into any lag there. Only in the long loading zone areas

My observations: 1. I'd say this game is about as difficult as Dark Souls 1, but just more easily cheeseable. 2. Yes, snow sounds like that in sub-zero temperatures when you walk on it. 3. Keys are in the key-item part of your inventory lol. 4. I liked this game much more than I thought I would. No expectations going in, but I enjoyed it pretty much all the way. 100% explored each map, found all of the vestiges, killed all bosses, took me a bit under 30 hours. Meaning it was exactly as long as it should be, I didn't get tired of it nor did I exactly feel like I wanted any more either. 5. I found the anime-ness the worst part of the game, strangely enough. 6. The game is connected to the God Eater series. The cataclysm the Queen was created to oppose is what the main characters of God Eater fight against, this was just a different group. There isn't a direct connection between the groups and not having played God Eater doesn't matter, but I just found it a cool way to tie this game into the same world.
Are they confirmed in the same world? The Vajra/Diaus Pita looking thing actually Aragami? I haven't played Code Vein, but I have played GE and the moon in CV doesn't look like Shio's devoured it yet.
@@nerobiblios4086 There is evidence that proves it in the game, like mentions in some lore files, memory vestiges, and IIRC a certain boss actually makes references to them. It isn't instantly obvious from the beginning, but the Collapse the characters mention from time to time was about weird monsters appearing and fucking everything up. They aren't called Aragami in the game, but that makes sense since the group who fought them in this area have no connection to the God Eater Program (or whatever it was called, I haven't really played that much GE, only about half of the first game, and it was a long time ago). The first generation revenants and the Queen were created to fend them off, but since the Queen herself went out of control and destroyed a large part of the troops, another way of shielding the remaining humans from the monsters was put into effect. Why people don't remember it is because ordinary humans didn't take part in the fighting, and revenants lose their memories from repeatedly dying. The Moon is still normal, so I'd say this happens either around the same time as GE1 or some time before. Also, there are references to Bugarally lol.
I think, personally, that God eater is set OUTSIDE the rest mist. The reason why is because, in God eater, games or anime, it shows that they have branches in different countries. And plus, there are some things in Code Vein and God Eater 3 that just... Kinda click together. Heck. Even in God eater 2 you had a blood ability similar to that of a gift from blood codes. It's really interesting how they tie the lore together.

How to Anime Souls: 1. Pick Yakumo 2. Get the Zweihander 3. Restore all vestiges with the Io clones 4. Game’s over, just hit the game with the Zweihander.
A thing to know, Dark Gifts (Attack based Magic) were SUPER broken when I played the game. Just level up a few Blood Codes, and take the Gifts from them, and put them it on a Dark Gifts based Blood Code (I recommend Harmonia) with some other things to compliment your Ichor (MP basically) regen. Then put on a Blood Veil with a high WILLPOWER stat and suddenly you will see that enemies are dying in 1 hit. Bosses a little bit of an issue since they all like to rush you though... But that is what you have a 1-h sword for. (May have to use a few gifts to mess with stats for MAXIMUM performance.)

Yeh idk if there will be a sequel since this game is essentially the origin story to the God Eater series. *SPOILERS BELOW* The Queen was made to defeat the Aragani monsters outside the red mist, but Cruz couldn’t control the power and frenzied which fucked up Mido and Silva’s plan and revenants were then made to eventually defeat Queen and then the Aragani. It’s not 100% clear on where the Aragani came from but they seem to have come into existence shortly before Queen was created and Silva put up the red mist fitting inline with how God Eater’s lore on the Aragani said they just appeared from nowhere. In the Good ending the main characters except for Coco travel beyond the red mist into God Eater to help out in defeating the Aragani. And i read a comment on the wiki where someone said that in one of the God Eater games (#3 I think?) Murasame (Rin) is briefly mentioned as one of the people who helped develop the original God Arcs. The sad thing about all of this is that, all the tragic shit in Code Vein was almost entirely pointless because they didn’t even need a being as powerful as Queen, the Aragani can be killed by humans (albeit with weapons made from the Aragani themselves.) as shown in the God Eater series.
Just finished the 2nd ending of this game. The story is amazing and the blood code system is cool. Will move on to enhanced difficulty after getting all endings, hopefully I don't get bullied to badly lol

Io was there after Oliver cause if you actually were to travel the the right some more you would learn that’s where you got kicked in. And the reason they need blood is I’m assuming due to the parasite that lives on their hearts which allow them to come back to life, and the reason they have said parasites is due to when the great collapse happened, which made them implant a certain parasite in them so they could come from the dead and fight the horrors aka aragami
This game is connected to godeater. The entire premise of the game is that when arigami first appeared the Queen sealed as many people as she could to protect them
When I played this game I NEVER used the sprint button and hated myself for a week when I found out I could sprint after 3/4 of the game. My friends mocked me and rightfully so
the only gripes I have about Code Vein is that stat scaling does nothing and only serves to meet gift/gear requirements, and leveling up is actually discouraged as it makes gifts harder to level. Leveling up doesn't improve your stats beyond hp (and 1 point in damage, but you're doing 1.2k from the weapon anyway)

Just a tip I was stuck on her too. Try switching your blood code to a different one to see if it helps. I switched from the fighter blood code to the Prometheus and beat it faster.

For me on pc it ran really smooth no fps drops ever, but if anyone dose need to drop the fps in the setting of the game; there is an upside to doing so. The *ahem* jiggle physics is tied to the fps: Lower fps more physics and higher fps less physics. And as a veteran dark souls player I love this game too. I did new game plus with Io no player summons and beat it in 8 hours. Can't wait for more content.
Blade bearer and that fire dude was the bane of my existence it took me awhile to beat them but when I fought them again for the second time in the depths I beat them on my first try 😂

As someone who got the game late around November 2019 I gotta say I DID NOT KNOW YOU COULD CHANGE PARTNERS AT THE MISTLE I ALWAYS TELEPORTED BACK TO BASE.
I had a bit of a problem with the leveling system... Gaining levels seemed to limit the speed of which you acquired skill/gift points, so mastering latter Codes/Classes was a pain in the neck. ...It also kinda suck'd that some classes were lock'd behind the bad ending conditions... So you'd HAVE to miss a ton of boss codes if you wanted a perfect ending
She's by far the most powerful companion. While Yakumo is tankier, Io actually has more survivability because she is much better at dodging. She also has fantastic DPS, ranged spells, and staggers almost everything.
@@Akario3 Not from my experience. Io will run across the map to kill something that took a shot at you, while Yakumo's AI seems preoccupied with blocking all the time. Io will Chariot Rush anyone who even looks at you funny. She also gives you lap pillows

One last note. I found it easier to hold the square button while moving around the back of the enemy to activate the back stab.
15:32 this is actually a valid strategy. At least if you die you don't have to go back to the invasion site to get your haze back.

When I played this game I NEVER used the sprint button and hated myself for a week when I found out I could sprint after 3/4 of the game. My friends mocked me and rightfully so
the only gripes I have about Code Vein is that stat scaling does nothing and only serves to meet gift/gear requirements, and leveling up is actually discouraged as it makes gifts harder to level. Leveling up doesn't improve your stats beyond hp (and 1 point in damage, but you're doing 1.2k from the weapon anyway)

Just a tip I was stuck on her too. Try switching your blood code to a different one to see if it helps. I switched from the fighter blood code to the Prometheus and beat it faster.

For me on pc it ran really smooth no fps drops ever, but if anyone dose need to drop the fps in the setting of the game; there is an upside to doing so. The *ahem* jiggle physics is tied to the fps: Lower fps more physics and higher fps less physics. And as a veteran dark souls player I love this game too. I did new game plus with Io no player summons and beat it in 8 hours. Can't wait for more content.

Hey man they are releasing 3 new DLC and a bunch of free updates adding new thingsto the game in the early 2020 so keep an eye out for those.
Great game and one of my favorites of this year. Doesnt stand a chance against soulsbourne and sekiro but I really enjoyed the game.
As someone who got the game late around November 2019 I gotta say I DID NOT KNOW YOU COULD CHANGE PARTNERS AT THE MISTLE I ALWAYS TELEPORTED BACK TO BASE.
It took me a minute to realize it too. It's a lot easier now.

I had a bit of a problem with the leveling system... Gaining levels seemed to limit the speed of which you acquired skill/gift points, so mastering latter Codes/Classes was a pain in the neck.
...It also kinda suck'd that some classes were lock'd behind the bad ending conditions... So you'd HAVE to miss a ton of boss codes if you wanted a perfect ending
Multiple play throughs, I'm on 3 to get the bad end

Bad news about the snow ram
Io is such a good companion she's saved my ass and dealed the finishing blow on a boss on many occasions
She's by far the most powerful companion. While Yakumo is tankier, Io actually has more survivability because she is much better at dodging. She also has fantastic DPS, ranged spells, and staggers almost everything.
Yakumo is way more aggressive though. Also he is Aniki.
@@Akario3 Not from my experience. Io will run across the map to kill something that took a shot at you, while Yakumo's AI seems preoccupied with blocking all the time. Io will Chariot Rush anyone who even looks at you funny.
She also gives you lap pillows
@@cordyceps182 tested her again today. Yeah she's much more aggressive than i remember. Now to weight aniki status versus lap pillows. Tricky...
