I was skeptical until i test drove one. Amazing car. I bought a 23 premium MT. It's an I6 turbo and i feel like that earns the Supra badge based on its cost and performance. Also the fact it is tunable to make some crazy numbers also holds up.
Same. Up until I first test drove it, I fell in love with it. I still experience the that same feeling every time I drive it. The only thing that's scary to think is how much longer will it hold up down the line.
At the end of the day it is being sold as a Toyota, I would be very surprised if Toyota would be willing to sacrifice their reputation of reliability just to bring back to the Supra name. Time will tell, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just drive the car, enjoy it, don't cheap out on its service and I am sure it will be fine!
I just found my 2023 Premium Supra Halo White for 60k with 926 miles private party with lowering springs, carbon package, full PPF, and cat back single tip titanium exhaust already. Picking it up Friday and I couldn’t be more stoked no sales tax baby and still under manufacture warranty with everything I’d want already done to it!
I’ve had my a91 edition now for 3 years and almost 30k miles, 20k of those miles with the engine making close to 600hp and not one issue yet. Have to say, out of all the sports cars I’ve owned, ss, cobra, nsx, mk4 Supra, this one has been the best so far.
@@carcaveofficial no flywheel, 560 whp. Not that hard at all. Downpipe, intake, exhaust, tune, meth, csf heat exchanger, charge pipe. About 10k in total.
Still have my 2022 model (bought Nov 2021) and you'd have to pry this car from my cold dead hands. Just a pleasure to drive. It's not perfect though, and has some minor nitpicks. But overall it's been a great experience.
Like the video only thing that missed informed is ZF transmission is not BMW. It’s sourced throw them but you can actually fine it in a lot of other cars like the Hellcat and what not. That would be like saying tremec transmissions are ford or Chevy sense they use them a lot.

I really wish they made the body style almost exactly like the Mk4. Targa top and all. The new one does look ok, if a little busy. Its kinda growing on me.
It took some time, but it grew on me too. I do agree though, a targa top would have made this car a bit of a game changer in its market. The only targa top I can think of at a reasonable price point is the new corvette...
Supra dealerships in my area are charging an extra $6000 for the i6 3.0s. I refuse to pay that kindof markup. I can't even test-drive one, so I'll continue to contemplate the 2017 NSX.
The 2017 NSX, in my opinion, is one of the best used supercar deals out there, and I don't think enough people are thinking about that car. Not being allowed to test drive a car like the Supra is dumb. It isn't limited, it isn't crazy expensive, nor is it harder to drive than any other car. I despise dealers that act that way. If you walk in like a kid asking if you can drift their brand new Supra, I can get them turning you away, but I doubt that is the case, so there is no reason to turn someone away.
@carcaveofficial I think the problem is that the Supra the dealership receives had already been reserved, so I'd be driving someone else's car. The only used Supra at a dealership in this area is the 4 cylinder base model.
I see, TBH I had some trouble finding a car to do a TH-cam video for the same reason. Everything was pre-sold and the owners, reasonably so, did not want mileage put on a car they already bought. Hopefully in the near future inventory will fill out and you can get a chance behind the wheel!

Your too young...the Glory Years for Sports Cars out of Japan were the 70s the Datsun Roadsters 1600 and 2000, the Z cars as well. Toyota was behind the 8-ball. The real Sports Cars came from Europe Like my TR-250..or TR-6, MGs, Alfa Romeo spiders, Fiats, ect.
They ugly looks doesn’t fit the price like the Lexus RC and LC. All have sold poorly. Retro styling worked with the Camaro and Challenger, but flopped on the 86 too. The new 86 and Nissan Z are pretty unappealing in looks.
When these came out I was annoyed that Toyota didn't make their own, overengineered engine and have manual transmission... but I understand the argument that it would have cost too much time and money. Learning about the BMW B58 though and how well it takes to tuning, I think Toyota made a good decision, in that with the B58 it still has that tuner option available, sort of paying respect to what the original Supra ended up meaning to enthusiasts. While it may not be perfect, I think it has turned out great. I also think it looks great, and I really quite like how it looks.... the Nissan Z just isn't doing it for me for some reason, I just don't like it which is a shame because I had two 350Z's and a 300Z and LOVED how they looked. Honestly the Supra I think is the best looking current gen sports car (not super car). I can't afford one but if I could, that is probably what i would get.

I think if they went after the GTR it would have had to have been much more powerful, and likely, much more expensive. I don’t think it was a budget issue, or laziness.

I think a lot of manufacturer's of today are struggling to get out anything that isn't saturated with technology and/or electric motors. Unfortunately, it is the time we live in. To get something truly inspiring, you have to look at brand like Porsche for the GT3RS which is very clever, or go back in the classifieds and get a used car. Something that has been obsessing me lately is the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.
I do get what you say about the roof to tail spoiler airflow. But dam it looks stupid. It looks like they took a spoiler of my kids electric car and used some playdoh to meld it into the Toyota tailgate.. the ass end is the biggest zonk on this car.

Although it's very similar to the Z4 it's different enough to drive and the platform was co-developed with the Toyota GR team. I wasn't a fan at launch but even if it did have a 3JZ it would basically be a b58 with an iron block opposed to aluminium. They look fantastic in person

This is a great car and fast AF with minimal mods. I can attest but make sure you have a comfortable daily driver. This is a weekend warrior

The fake vents was a deal breaker for me at the time. I instead went and bought a Cayman S instead and not dissapointed one bit.

Same here. I saw a new Z in the flesh and I found it looked very average. Normally cars look better in the flesh but this looked worse.
Zf8 speed is NOT BMW transmission! Every manufacturer uses it.
