Euro cars are brutal sometimes cause of the plastic parts - thats my only concern especially with the heat and pressure from the turbo. Bet it drives like butter though, the Germans have really nailed smooth handling with power
Im really starting to like this car. I spoke extensively with some folks at a Toyota Thrill ride about the Supra. It sounded like Toyota was very critical of this motor and made sure it would meet their demands. The rep told me they tweaked it a bit for their needs. I believe this motor is a very good one and would have no worries about the longevity. Also for those who complain about this not being 100% Toyota, please try to understand economics. Would you rather have NO SUPRA???
People really love to glance over the economics when it comes to the Supra. Toyota, in the US, literally has not made an in-line 6 engine since the 2JZ itself. The amount of money they would have spent trying to make a new inline 6 from the ground up would’ve skyrocketed the price of the car drastically. Toyota fan boys can complain all they want about how the Supra is largely a rebadged BMW, and some of those complaints are fair game, but BMW taking the reigns is the reason you can buy an entry level Supra with an line 6 for around 55 grand
@@shyro76 My thoughts exactly! Then I’m sure they’ll say, but Nissan…. This isn't a knock to BMW specifically, as all car manufacturers have gone this way, but these engines are just so damn messy now with vacuum lines galore. How would you gauge the reliability of this Supra even though its a BMW? Do you think it will be relatively reliable compared to other BMW's? Not sure if this or RC-F would be the long term decision to own.
I'd say RCF is long term since the supras not been out nearly as long. Although, there are bmws with the same engine as the mk5 that have passed over 200k+ without issue as long as maintenance is done on time.
If our 328i is anything to go by, after 30,000 miles if you open the hood and sneeze, some piece of plastic will break. As for current drain, my E36 M3 if it is not driven for 10 days, the battery will be dead, so it has spent most of its life on a float charger.
Amd, I still don't understand why Toyota used a BMW engine in the Supra to produce around 380hp (now in the newest version), when Lotus uses the Toyota V6 in their Evora model sports cars and it produces 400HP, yes it's a supercharged V6, but the B58 in the Supra is turbo charged. I wouldn't think that those two cars differ much in weight either. Who's manual transmission is in the 2023 Supra.
I have been driving a 4 runner for last 7 years and love it just cuz it never gives me any major problem. Knock on the wood. How relatable do you think this would be if i got one? Just cuz i hear good and bad. I want one however cannot decide. I Understand nothing lasts forever, but if I don’t have to maintain it all the time I would like to have one. Thanks in advance! 🙏
I am not a car expert, but essentially this is a BMW, it will handle very well and I have heard very good things about the B58 Engine or the Engine that is in this, but I would not Buy one for longevity, my guess there will be problems on most of them by 70,000 miles and especially after 100,000 miles, this is no Toyota as far as reliability. My best guess and take my opinion as a grain of salt, if u are looking for reliability sports car go with a 2015 and Above Lexus RCF V8. U have a great vehicle with the 4 Runner, Best of Luck with your next Sports Car, no matter what that is, I would by a New Porsche GT4 if I had 130,000 dollars laying around to Burn.

im a fanatic of manual trannys but i have to recognice aftr the year 2000 automatics start to do the gears faster than you can do ...its the same in the case of abs theres ppl still think they can brake better without abs brakes but those people is considered ignorants its the same with manual transmissions
No under the hood insulation!!!???
Damn!!
I'm down with turbo lag! Love it. You just need to know how to drive them.
not that uncommon, the 7th gen celica doesnt have it either
You should try driving 5 series. I’m sure you will like the ride
Nice job @CCN. Keep up the great content.
@peasantlaborer6084 check thr market there's 340i with same b58 and ZF tranny with 150k+ miles lmao i even seen a 340i with 185k miles
Loving my gr corolla but this thing is sweet
I heard they are selling way more manual variants than they were expecting.
Looks similar to color of my estoril blue 435i 🔥
I watched the entire Video, You did a Great Job ! ! !, ok, The fake vents, Since they didn't make anything for them, There probably waiting on customers to come up with an Idea for them, There not going to tell their Customers There Waiting on Them to Come up with an Idea ! ! ! , But I'm sure they would Love-It if one of their Loyal Customers, Comes up with an Amazing Idea, For their fake Vents, Like it can Divert a small amount of cool air to blow over the Interior, On your Feet. Just Kidding, I don't Know where the Vents are Located at. Keep Up the Good-Job...
Love your videos! Can you please do a review on the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid XSE 2023?? Thank you :)
In Europe we have cars with chains at the back for years now since 2000 and no problems. It’s something new for you Americans 😊
Is the electrical series coming back? Please do a video on purchasing toyota tech stream and installation. Thanks
That b58😍
Why did Toyota go the BMW route? Couldn’t they have used the RC-350 platform?
They probably could have, but that platform is much heavier. Pretty sure they went the BMW route because of the inline 6...
Too heavy, inferior platform compared to BMW offerings
Rather listen to a mechanic than an influencer journalist
Can you make a review of an Audi S3 would love your intake 😊
I am a LC500 fanatic. I thought I had watched *every * video om this car, and then I saw this... Hands down the most informative video I have seen. Great job 👏
They are not fake vents. You pop them off and add the plumbing/ducts if you want track it. Toyota did the wind tunnel testing with and without the vents. I believe Toyota should have the ducts installed as an option.
This is not a long term car. Lease it and have fun but be prepared for BMW costs in the future.
Sounds like it will be an absolute nightmare few years down the line with only the best mechanics being capable of sorting out problems. Of course labour and parts will be horrendous... Love the look however only those with very deep pockets will be able to afford the upkeep. A future classic of that there is no question...
B58 isn't a hard engine to work on
That's why you get a warranty.
it looks like a spaceship from future !!!! wow
Thank for your knowledge!
So German, it goosesteps. But that styling is really sweet.
Great video but I’m keeping my Porsche cayman S if I want 2 seats and questionable reliability , it handles better
Interesting video/car. Thanks AMD.
Review the Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio next plesse!
