- A little example of a Jody Jazz DV Bass mouthpiece played on bari & bass sax, separated by a little Theo Wanne Durga 3 on bari.
I love the Jody Jazz on bass & it sounds great on bari too, but I prefer the Theo Wanne on bari, especially if I need to utilize the full range of the horn & project live.
The thought just crossed my mind to put a bass mouthpiece on my bari (a 1961 Martin Committee III) to change up the voice a little, and so I did a search to see how it sounds. This is one of the very few that came up in my search, and I'm glad you made it. I'll definitely do this.
I'm glad the video was helpful! How did it work out trying your bass mouthpiece on the Martin bari?
I bought a mouthpiece and it is being shipped. I'll try it out as soon as I get it.
I ended up getting a dv bass for my bari. This video actually helped me make my decision. I am absolutely loving it!!
That’s awesome! Glad I could be of help!!
The dv sounds really phat on bari! I have been thinking about getting one for a number of years
Sounds sick bro! Do you know how the durga 5 compares to the 3?
Thanks man! I haven’t played the new Durga 5, but every mouthpiece I’ve tried from Theo Wanne has played wonderfully!
What kind of bass is that? I’d love to hear the Durga on the bass sax.
It's a 'Wilmington' from musicmedic. I love the durga on bari, but haven't been able to get it to sound good on bass yet.
What tip opening did you get?
7* on the Theo Wanne, and 7 on the Jody Jazz.
