    Ah deadly man! This I’ve been waiting for. Kept checking all week. Both of these songs are life for me. The lyrics are something else. Lateralus was before 10,000 days and Fear Innoculum was after 10000 days. There’s Wings for Marie Part 1 & 2 also another 2 parter. Think someone mentioned to pull up lyrics for those . Stinkfist (not what it seems it might be) is another belter but yeah man, Really really enjoying the Tool trip with you. I’m going to see Puscifer (one of Maynards other bands) here in Dublin Ireland on Saturday night. Keep on keepin on dude. You made me smile from ear to ear tonight. Spiral out 🌀

    If you're looking for another two parter listen to wings for marie & 10000 days. Pull the lyrics up and be absolutely astonished at the purity and directness of emotion in both lyrics and music. I'ts an insane tribute to his mother

    • @Crite_Mike
      @Crite_Mike ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Maybe it'll be better for him to listen to Wings/10000 days a bit later in his tool path IMO. At a point when he will have already listened to at least 12-15 other songs, he'll take it in with much more joy and apreciation.

      @Crite_Mike ปีที่แล้ว

      @@prefono Indeed, exactly. Same thing with Pushit, Disgustipated, Third Eye, Merkaba, Disposition/Reflection/Triad - better to keep all of those to a time when you've already developed quite a taste for tool - greater chance that you'll get more out of them that way.

    • @Crite_Mike

      @@jakeihrig8992 Both my parents are now alive and I haven't really felt much grief when my grandparents died, plus I cannot say that I'm the most empathetic and sensitive person 99% of the time. But with this song... It's of the few art pieces I've experienced that made me really feel that true sorrow and mourning and grief and loss, or at least made me close to feeling them without actually experiencing those in real life. Plus I live in Ukraine, so it really makes me appreciate about how people can feel when they lose their loved ones, especially in wartimes like we have here in my Motherland...

    The story of Parabol/Parabola was it was originally one song but the Record Label wanted more songs and Tool already had long songs like Reflection and Lateralus, so they choose to split and adapt it as an “intro/main” song like did with the Holy Trinity later on the same album.

    I love the meaning behind the song names here. “Parabol” is a play on “parable,” which is a meaningful story. “Parabola” (pa•rab•o•la) is the term for the shape of a pendulum’s swing. It creates a U-shape, which is fitting because the song, sonically, ends where it began. Love the Tool reactions, they’re my favorite band!

    Just started, hope you enjoyed this one. One of their most legendary songs and this entire album is too. Danny's drum part here starting at about 11:45 is one of my favorites in their entire discography. Followed by his drum part starting at 14:50 is so fucking good. Not to sound lame but sometimes I have to take the lyrics to heart - This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality. Embrace this moment, remember, we are eternal all this pain is an illusion.

    I love how you pointed out the humming in the background of Parabol. What's actually being used is a digeridoo. I love how Tool incorperates instrumentation from around the world. It just serves to highlight the fact that we are all connected, how we are in fact one people. It is a central theme to a lot of Maynard's lyrical content. From his APC (A Perfect Circle) cover of John Lennon's "Imagine" to this pairing of songs to Pneuma, among others. It creates a worldly vibe that calls out to people of all walks of life, bringing us all together.

      @@sevsimo thank you for your attention! Try to enter in the world of Dream Theater through their song "Octavarium", a 24-minute epic journey of great ambience, riffs, melodies, and instrumental sections.

    Buddy, I love your reactions but you really need to do Lateralus from start to finish (even if on your own not in a reaction video) because Maynard wrote them in a full story. The Grudge starts off about holding on to exactly that, grudges and as the album progresses, it's a spiritual journey about life and becoming a better human and then finishing with the trinity of Reflection (an amazing track about life, our interconnections with each other, etc...), Triad, and Faaip de Oiad. But love the reactions. Keep spiraling out!!!!

      the hardest thing about being a reactor is I'm so tempted to hear absolutely every song of theirs in my own time but then I can't actually do a reaction video to them haha!

    Many are going to recommend Lost Keys & Rosetta Stoned. These are advanced tool, but you're totally ready. Now - the trick is - It's actually Lipan Conjuring / Lost Keys / Rosetta Stoned. All three are an experience of someone, and each leads to the next. It's a trio, and many skip the first song.
    Loved the react!

    I remember when aenema was the last album and we were all waiting for the new shit to drop. I used to obsess over that album. Then Salival came out and whetted our appetite for more. Then they released Lateralus... What a time to be alive.

    it might seem like it but youtube is NOT your only option. I suggest just buying the album, but there's also Spotify or iTunes to use that will let you listen to consecutive tracks uninterrupted. I'm saying this because there's a three-track song on this same album (Disposition-Reflection-Triad) that you HAVE to listen to with no gaps 🤘🤘
