You always do a lovely neat tight hedge trim, looks so much better. A garden can look good just by trimming a big hedge and cutting the lawn, especially Gary’s neat lines. Rain, this is Britain we’re talking about, if it’s not cloudy it’s raining, I remember it well 😂 Keep well.
We had a lovely Laurel hedge that I maintained for 35 years. I fell off the ladder and broke my ankle. My Doctor said no more ladders. We had it removed, built a cedar fence and planted a bunch of shrubs with color along with some blueberries. I have to admit that eating the blueberries is more fun than trimming that hedge.

Hey, 👋 yes I have trimmed a hedge by hand before it was a privet , took me about 4 hours. At the time I was using a electric hedge trimmer and it packed up as I started very sad but I got the hedge done ✅

Lovely job. How hard is it to convince the neighbor on the other side of the hedge to grant you access to their yard to gather/remove clipping that escaped during the trimming of said hedge.

This job is flexible so I could have left he hedge and the customer would understand, Never dropped it but I have taken a chunk out of a hedge before 😂 when I was starting out I cut a main branch and half the hedge fell off haha 😂 it was a privet that was remarkably big section on a small branch oops 😬 and I took a chunk out my knee haha 😂

Hey 👋 thanks, been self employed over 10 year. I do a lot of the hedges, gaz has been with me about a year now and when it gets into spring summer it’s very busy for us so I tend to try do them as it’s a lot quicker. Gaz is getting his confidence up and does do hedges, I will make sure he’s gets on the hedge trimmer next time 👍
I always hated our laurel hedge. It just became a beast for an old woman to do! Ha! Had it chain sawed out and put in arborvitae. Never sorry. You do such a great job.👍🏻💚💚

She hadn’t trimmed it for a while was looking leggy and we cut it back and the following year it was beautiful, what hedge are you thinking of ?

Hi, I live in Oxford, Uk. I am looking to buy a stihl hedge trimmer but can't decide if I want a petrol or a battery one. I'd like to open a small gardening business so looking for tools now.
@@thetreeoflifegardeningserv9590 that’s fantastic all the best with that, so the reason why I would say stick with the kombi is that you can get a strimmer attachment for it and many other attachments, even a blower, the great thing about the attachment is they also fit the battery version of the kombi, unit, so even if you started off with petrol and then decided to get the battery unit version you can use all the attachments. I decided to use the attachment version as it saves so much space in the van, I am looking to get a battery version soon but it’s been hard with delays on manufacturing,
Just the top and our side and try to just square of neighbours, a fence sits just in front of the hedge so not much to do other than the bit above on neighbours side, so we go round and tidy up and just finish it off 👍
