i like the shape a lot (even though vw designers should have slightly reshaped the front so as to make it not a i4 and a half ) Want a pro performance BUT a 1 owner , a year old so any gremlins should have been addressed by vw, a early 23 or late 22 plate in met grey with upgraded software already done for about 36 ish thousand euroes , AS a new one comes in at 50 odd thousand. Not a 0 -60 speed demon so the 200 hp suits and range is exceptable at the used price

Thanks so much for your video, which was very nice and informative. You mentioned the new software, 3.0, update; will the ID.4 get the same update, and will ID.4 get the Park Assist Plus with memory, as well?

Thanks for the comment and question Romulus. Yes, to my knowledge the software update will be over the air and applied retroactively to all id models

Many thanks for the comprehensive review and Irish accent that brought me back to my early school days. The car is an overall very good SUV, spacious and powerfull. Please provide the specifications of the sound System and speakers. Also, please advise the availability of two motors and AWD version. Best Regards.

Nice! good to hear about V2x that is going to be super handy
I heard that a lot of the car is made with environmental concerns in mind (ie some components are vegan) is that true ?

Thanks for a great review. I live in Canada. We do not have the 5 or the GTX yet. However, we do have the ID.4 This may surprise you...a fully loaded ID.4 with all wheel drive is about $55,000 Canadian dollars. That's about 41,000 euros...quite a bit less than you pay and our ID.4s all come from Germany!

Thanks for the comment James. Not surprised at all 🤣 Our lovely government has a 2nd tax called the VRT (Vehicle Registration Tax) and it's nonsense.

Definitely looks better than the id4 overall but I don't like the front of either. Same awful infotainment and small and useless drivers display. The haptic buttons I don't like and the touch sensitive climate controls are terrible. I've driven the id4 and the climate controls are not backlit while means u can't see and use them at night, I'd imagine the id5 has the same flaws. If I could afford an ev I would choose the kia ev6.

Agreed, I was looking at a Tiguan and whej I sat in it I couldn't believe how cheap feeling the interior is, the ID5 has a nice interior but not for the price, I'd expect more.

I have an emergency safety question. If the ID4 lost power, and the battery was out, we were inside the locked car, and the infotainment center was not functioning, how to open the doors manually to exit the car? Can the ID4 doors be operated manually?

    Nice video again Dereck.
The id5 looks better on the video, with the superb background, than in the flesh, saw it at FC show. But the car has a lot to offer with that range, boot and gismos.
Like other comments VW need to up their game on base models especially as the inside, to me, is very German, like the old VWs they are practical rather than rewarding. Others have a more pleasing interior with less nasty plastic.
The lack of heat pump is also a concern.
The dash puts me off as the displays appears to be an afterthought and are sticking out from the dash instead of being part of it. But I’m sure VW fans will be happy with it. People who managed to get an id3 or 4 have big smiles so the id5 will be a winner I’m sure.
I see no tail wiper! This seems to be a trend nowadays.
    Thanks
    DES

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland
      @NevoEVReviewIreland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Cheers Des. The black one at Fully Charged was very uninspiring wasn't it! The material choice internally has to be questioned but people are buying them. Heat pump I agree. Displays, software and haptic feedback buttons I'm not the biggest fan.

Tail wiper are maybe getting too expensive! Got a drive in the ARIYA yesterday and they have one thankfully. The ID4 also has one.

Irish prices not out yet. Looking at the space and I'm guessing stupid price I will stick with my kodiaq for a while yet. 50K in UK so god knows what that will cost here. And I find the range very low for the price. Also they look so bare on the interior as do all evs. More money less style

why do they insist on building a vehicle that a 6 foot male weighing 195 lbs. can not sit extremely comfortable in the back seat? for this kind of money the owner should be able to sit in every seat with the seats pushed all the way back. man! engineering has died.

As the years go on, the quality from VW is getting poorer and poorer. Talking stupidly like BMW about vegan seats, your not going eat them, your going to sit in them and the manufacturers are loving this because it's way more cheaper to produce but they can charge even more because of trends and fashions. A so called GTI Version tops out at 180kph wtf...have been driving VW for along time, even worked for VW for 13 years. But I think I'm driving my last one...their cheaping out on so much but still wanting to charge premium prices....
