  • This week on the DoneDeal TH-cam channel we headed to the west coast of Ireland to check out the new Volkswagen ID.5. Built on the same platform as the ID.4, it's difficult to tell it apart from the front, however from the rear the visual differences become quite obvious. With a sloping rear roof line into a big spoiler, the ID..5 is very much a coupé SUV.
Whilst it has a sportier look, it is still quite practical with a large boot, folding seats and plenty of rear passenger space. It also is available in all the same trim and power options as the ID.4. The 77kWh battery is more than enough to achieve over 400km in the real world. It has a few different power outputs, the 204hp version being the one we would choose, unless you want all-wheel drive and roughly 300bhp that the GTX offers.
Overall it's a great option in the segment, however it would be tough to choose between the ID.4 and ID.5
A big thank you to Connolly Motors Sligo for having us up to test drive it.

Beautiful inside and out,for that price why are vw cutting corners?the boot should open automatically and the bonnet should not be held up by a stick,I notice that alot with vw,are the wing mirrors self folding?
