So Blanka's back mk is a little more consistent as an anti-air compared to hk, hk does more damage, can get big juggles and will hit slightly farther behind so its not a bad choice to use but back mk hits above Blanka sooner (frame 9 compared to frame 13) and doesn't extend his hurt box as much so you're less likely to trade or get beat out. You can also cancel into hop forward after anti-airing with back mk to be plus and in their face.

Does anyone know how to do the Blanka side step thru move that Nephew did at 20:03-20:06? I can't find and explanation on how to do that move anywhere? I also think that Jamie has a side step thru move also.
Blanka was my main in IV and V because he was quick and crisp. In this game he feels too fluffy and counterintuitive. And it doesn't help that this is the worst he's looked in practically any Street Fighter game.

I guess one way to learn how to counter a character is to play the character and learn what gets you punished.

You have to press forward+three kicks. You can also do back+three kicks and blanka will hop backwards

What do the numbers shown after "placement match" mean? It went from 5/7 to 5/6.
There are 10 placement games, when he loses one he lowers the second number. 5/6 is 5 wins with one placement game remaining.
