Extraordinary tune which allowed a jazz guitar beginner player like e to have for a few minutes feeling he was improvising kind of OK on a piece of jazz. It's so encouraging, with such a beautiful piece. Thanks a lot. E. from France

I saw a cartoon where some police were talking and one of them says, We couldn't find the guy but these are a few of his favorite things, and the cop is holding up a kitten and a copper kettle and some mittens and so on.(-:
Good! But it would be best with a few measures for introduction and improvision interludes between each chorus such as we would see in John Coltranes's wonderful renditions. Would be wonderful if you consider adding those to another backing track!
I'm not sure if I'm saying this right because I'm self taught, but... Think of it as Em instead of G major. A is the 4 of Em. F#m is the 2 of of Em, which makes the Em - F#m - B a 2-5-1 turn around. Also remember that the tune is modal, meaning that applying extensions to it only requires that you drop notes inappropriate to G mixolydian (except where appropriate to use them, like using an E flat 'blue' note against an Am/Cmaj7 run when transitioning across the dominant 4th. Hope that helps. This sort of chord structure isn't only in jazz, btw. It's also sort of definitive of folk-pop music from the 1970's. It underpins James Taylor, Carole King, Steel Eye Span, Fairport Convention, etc.

Awesome! You should make one with an E minor vamp solo section like John Coltrane.
Please!! That'd be fantastic!!
Qué precioso! Congrat!

Lovely Track... who plays? :)
simply fantastic

It sounds different but this isn't the Coltrane version?
How come the only half dim chord used is F#? I thought the answer would be that it is in G, but then there are chords like A7 that are not in G
