This is extremely insightful, for me trying to find information on the label X band royalty % split super scarce or taboo online, I imagine NDA's play a part in that. If dedicated enough I find it so much more viable in this day and age for new bands to stick solely to self published and promoted until the right offer (if ever) comes along! We're gonna be doing everything out selves with no thoughts in sight of aspiring to be on a label simply due to the ease of access to all the resources available to us. Loving this content Alan!
That’s a great plan and I highly recommend it. Not saying you should totally close yourself off to the idea of signing a record deal but it would definitely have to benefit both parties equally to be a smart a move.
Thank you for this in-depth video! My calculus says I need 54 000 streams to gain minimum wage in Moldova VS 278 000 streams for minimum wage in AL. That's interesting!
Now I dont use Spotify, but I use TH-cam music. However until the last year, I had stayed away from streaming services due to the fact that small independent artists such as yourselves simply do not receive a fair amount per stream. Now I understand there are artists on streaming services that will get a large percentage of listens, and that the streaming services allocate a larger portion of revenue towards these artists. But I'm not listening to those artists, I don't want my money going towards Drake, or any other artist that I simply just do not listen to. I want my money to go towards the artists I listen to, it's that simple. The guitarist for Twelve Foot Ninja, Stevic Mackay, has some interesting takes on possible alternative plans for fair revenue distribution. Watching some of his videos, I feel like there are ways to rework the system to make it more profitable and fair to smaller artists.
It’s definitely not fair but I do believe a change is on the horizon. It would still take a lot of noise from independent musicians of all levels to get there. Thanks for watching and however you choose to support us! 🤘🏽
I do! Because our music is very guitar driven, people seem to want tabs with each release for our music so I think it’s a good business idea to include tabs with your releases.

do you see alot more traction financially when you release tabs?

@@AlanRigdon not surprised. Wait till you release some tabs from the first artificial album and EP. $$$$.
