This was a really fun project and great to use this old bandsaw that was just getting in the way.
What would you have done with it? And let me know your thoughts on a vintage style drill index.

    Do the drill index please.
Stuff like this interspersed with your usual wood stuff and your new venture into metal is a good mix.
That’s my opinion for what it’s worth.

I love repurposed things. What a great way to store your tools & keep them clean, looks nice on the wall, and yeah would love to see the drill portion. I love watching skilled people work whether they are pros or amateurs. My wonderful dad was a skilled amateur and he made incredible things just as you do. Thanks for sharing your skills & abilities. You are a joy to watch.

Pask, that's a nice way to keep something from becoming scrap. I had a boss that saved an electrical cabinet from a huge boiler and used it for storage in a job trailer. While there were a few holes in it for conduit, he welded them up, and had a nice storage box.

I will say my grandfather saw a couple of your videos and was absolutely amazed at how fast and precise you are at making everything you do and how easy you make it look. Keep in mind he worked at a factory in metal Molding and is a handyman and tool guy I go to a lot. Also he served in the military and is now 88 years old. But he was absolutely amazed and couldn't stop watching you. I honestly think the same thing of how you make everything look like a kindergartener could do it.

Nice job! Some people recommend covering the lathe ways with something when using sandpaper. Just in case some particles fall onto the ways, and damage them over time. Not that few times will hurt it much, but it's a new machine, and I want you to enjoy it for years :)

Long time fan, and now I know I can remove the motor on my old bandsaw, its a cheap plastic one so I can't re-use it like you, but I can still use the motor and other part for cool stuff. I'll put another vote up for seeing the drill index build, I'm currently using a block of wood with holes in it for mine so the inspiration would be welcome.
