If you go out to your car and find anything suspicious on the car. Go back into where you were without pause. Get security, or call the police to walk you to your car and investigate. I saw a water bottle on my car about a year ago when I was parked downtown at night. I whacked it off, got in my car and drove home. Nothing happened. Even if I had already been in my car, I would have just started driving and let it fall off . I don't. want to be a litter bug, but I don't want to be in danger, either. My biggest two fears with my car and strangers is either someone getting in my car by gunpoint, or being thrown into the trunk. My car has a button inside the trunk to open it if the second thing should ever happen, and I avoid going to unknown/questionable areas especially at night when there are less people around. I know that bad things can happen all hours of the day and night, but still~
Say you live with another friend/family member/partner in a house. In some occasions, thieves could use any kind of spray paint, or something, and mark any part of your house as "IM IF" (depends on how many people live inside a house.) This means that IM means there is 1 make and the IF means there is one female. If you see this, call the police immediately, because whoever wrote that is planning to break into your house, or do something next-level.
If someone comes to you with a mobile phone and asks you if this is your phone, don't take it. There is one situation that a woman was stopped by a man, the man asked the woman if the phone was hers, she said yes and took it. After she walked for a few more minutes, three men came over and asked her if she had their phone. She said that she didn't have their phone, but the three men demanded to call the number first. After they called the number, the phone that the woman took from the man who gave it to her beforehand rang. The three men accused her of stealing, then they demanded her to hand over a certain amount of cash, or else she will have to go to the police station with them. Once the woman handed over the cash, the three men would split the cash among them. Therefore, if anyone stops you when you are walking along the street, took out a mobile phone and asked you if it was yours, run away from them. This way, you won't get scammed.
Such a shame that we have to deal with things like this. I know someone who sees things on the news and warns me. I pray that she doesn't worry so much that it makes it too difficult for her to do normal things.

Exactly! If I was the one installing a GPS tracker on someone's car, I wouldn't do anything that would make the owner feel like something is off. Why would they deliberately draw attention to the fact that the car has been tampered with?
Along with the tow trucks showing up be careful about private ambulance companys. My nephew took a bad fall at a gym. An ambulance was called. The first to show up was a private ambulance. My nephew refused. He knew his insurance wouldn't cover the larger cost.
Traffickers will also put a, usually small black zip tie on the rear door handle or other "sticker" or streak on your car to tag that you've been pre'vetted as a potential target. Do a walk-around check your car.
I'm removing the shirt, towel etc. from my windshield wiper and someone sneaks up and attacks me: I put two .45ACP JHPs in his chest and call the Cops!
Why would someone who installed a tracker on your car even bother to mark it with anything? That doesn't make sense. Why not just install the tracker without leaving anything on the car so you'll never ever know what happened.
