You should NEVER install a patch or plug in sidewall of tire
OR on the outer tread area, ESPECIALLY if it's very close to the sidewall, where the tread area curves....👍😁
WD 40 is a solvent and should not be used on rubber anything. Bad advice.
WD 40 is fish oil. It is not your regular solvent. It can be used in rubber.

It's not wise to make new grooves in your old tires, this is a very bad idea
Never use wd-40 on window rubber. If they stick I was told by mechanic to use silicone lubricant with spf protection or the slide seal lubricant/protectant they use on RV slide seals.
