Thanks for the tips. It helped with me 2015 Expedition, but I did it a little differently. I took the casing apart and soldered two wires to the back of the board where those pins are mounted and put a hole in the back of the plastic case to feed them through. Worked perfectly.
Thanks ! This is really helpful, im gonna fix passenger seat of my 2010 Expedition now ;). For the same seat the seat forward-backward motion is not working, will need to check if its a motor or the button. Will start with the fuse though.
Yes I "LIKED" the video!! and I subscribed. Thanks I have two ford expeditions 2007 & 2017. The 2007 driver's seat never worked. One day I will try what you have done.
Is this still working for you? I recently changed out the plug wire for wire but did not think to add a secondary ground wire. I still have issues with the seats staying on. They will work one time and not the next. Thanks for the video
I'm going to give this a go. Not sure if my issue is the same. The seat bottoms are cooling but the seat backs are heating up. We'll see if your fix will work.
De-pin, cut and add replacement wire with new pins and re-pin connector. Clean module side contacts with diamond file and contact cleaner. Reassemble and it'll work.
Hey man I have a 2012 expedition xlt that didnt come with the heated or cooled seats I bought them from a wrecked one with the hvac controls to turn them on and I hooked everything up, but they dont work they just turn on for a few seconds and turn off. Do you know if there’s a difference in any of the wiring from normal seats to heated and cooled? All things under the seat plugged right in and it filled ever slot available under the seat. The button just doesn’t stay on and and obviously it wont heat the seats. I dont care for the cooled seats just want the heated to work.
Hey, just wanted to say thanks for the heat module fix you did. Our 16 F-150 has the exact same issue. I could fix it to last two weeks maybe until a bump in the road caused it to quit. After watching your video, I never knew you could wire two terminals together. I did this and it worked. I'll know in a couple of weeks if it's fixed for sure but right now it's working better. Cold here in Canada and we're spoiled with heat/cool seats. Thanks for the video. Looks like you saved me $500 cdn on module and plug kit or at least & 400 on Amazon for the same parts. Cheers from Canada.
Did you have to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes in order not to have air bag deployment? I hear this a lot I'm not sure if it's true with all makes and models but I have a Ford Fusion too and if you didn't have to I'm pretty sure I don't. Just trying to save myself a step. Thank you
I never had to deal with the airbag, I just unplugged the module under the seat, fixed it and re installed it. I didn’t have to touch the battery. Hope that helps.
I have a 2010 expedition limited and the passenger side works but the driver side heat doesn’t but the cold one does. My computer isn’t burned out like yours was so I’m guessing it’s the actual hot mat under the seat?
@@benschroeder1161 no as of now mine won’t heat or cool on the drivers side for more than a minute. I think my computer has gone out on the driverside controls.
I know you said you have done work to this expedition but would you recommend one? I don’t know anyone who has one and I’m looking for a big three row suv. My buddy loves his Tahoe so I’m just curious. I like the expedition’s interior better. Thank!
I have done a good bit of work on this one, it was neglected for years. Now it runs like a champ. Me and my wife love it. I really like the width of it compared to my gmc. It’s great for trips and tows extremely well. So I would definitely recommend one to someone.
I have a 2008 F350, it has the same heated seats buttons below the heater controls. The passenger side stopped working about 4 months ago, and now the drivers side doesn't work, although the light on the button stays on when i press it. I checked the fuses and they are good. I checked the wiring connections and they are good too. I guess my next step is to try your fix?
@@TheShopWorldWide thank you. I am waiting for a clear day and going to try this. Also did you drill both holes in the harness or just 1 big and and funnel both wires through?
Does that control modular under the passenger front seat control both driver and passenger heated/ac seats? My driver side stays on for 60secs and truns off
@@TheShopWorldWide i just bought an 08 5.4 3v with 100k. Its the heated seat peoblem-----the driver outside door handle extends way to much-----not everytime but when it gets warmed up and I come to a stop it randomly starts missing and running like shit. Soon as I take off its good...like I said it dosent happen every time I stop but it runs perfect besides that.
Does anyone know if this is where the module is for a 2010 f150? I'm having the same issue on my driver seat but the module wasn't under the driver seat.
Do a part search on both vehicles and check the model numbers. Very good chance they are when they come from the same generation and comparable trims. Some components will be used for 3-4 iterations (aka +10 years). I know your sest climate control module is... I'm about to fix mine. Mopar does this alot. Owning a 200 makes sitting in Demons/ hellcats feel cheap

Awesome! Ive also heard you can order a wire pig tail that is a direct fit to the module you just have to solder all the wires together.

Awesome!! Thanks for that!! Hopefully this will get your seat working.
Hey, wanted say thanks again. Worked like a champ
Awesome to hear!!! Thanks for the comment!!
Thanks I have same problem... Have you had any other issues my off button for fan turns it on high
After months of it working flawlessly, the passenger seat would turn on for about 1-2 mins and not turn back on.
Is this still working for you? I recently changed out the plug wire for wire but did not think to add a secondary ground wire. I still have issues with the seats staying on. They will work one time and not the next. Thanks for the video
Mine worked for a little more than a year, and then the passenger seat would only work for 5 minutes and then not work again.
This was a success! Thank you for the video.
Great to here!!!
I'm going to give this a go. Not sure if my issue is the same. The seat bottoms are cooling but the seat backs are heating up. We'll see if your fix will work.
Let me know if that will fix it.
Thanks for the video! My 2011 Expedition doing the same thing, will try this fix. Ford wants $1,100 to fix!
Hope it works out for you!! Thanks for the support!!

DAYS UNTIL 2000
De-pin, cut and add replacement wire with new pins and re-pin connector.
Clean module side contacts with diamond file and contact cleaner.
Reassemble and it'll work.
That’s the better/ more professional way…… thanks for the better suggestion!
Where can you buy the pins
Thanks for this. We’ve had the exact same problem since buying our 08 Expedition.

Thanks for the video, it helped me to fix my 2013 Navigator. I really appreciate it.
Great!!! Thanks for the comment!!
Nice work. My wife has a 2007 MKX and heated seats do the same exact thing. I'm guessing the same remedy would work? May have to try.
It’s worth a shot, and it’s great when it works!

That’s what my factory installed ones were doing. The ground had burnt out. Check your ground. you may need to add a better ground.

@@TheShopWorldWide it does thank you
is the computer and harness that's under the passenger seat for driver and passenger side or is their one under each seat?
It controls both seats from that module.
Shall be trying this asap cuz I’m in Alaska need heat on that cold leather
Bought mine off show room floor and it’s just now starting to have issues
It works! It has for over a year. Good luck on it!!
I’m having the same problem in a 2012 - any idea if this works?
I’m not sure if the module is the same. It would be something to look in too.

How's it holding up
It held for over a year and a half, the driver side works perfect the passenger will turn on for 5 min and then cut off and not turn back on.
Great job thanks for posting.
What gauge wire did you use as replacement and is there a certain size clip(s) that you used in lieu of soldering?
I don’t exactly know, I know it was bigger than 18ga. The “clips” I used just fit the wires.
🙏help my 2009 ford flex I have lost power to my Ac,radio, heated seats, after my sunroof leaked??
I would check your fuses first and then if that’s not it begin looking at the different modules that control those items
We’re did you get the ground wires at?
It was extra wire I had from other projects, but you could use just about any wire that’s near or a little than the thickness of the stock wires.
I have a 2008 F350, it has the same heated seats buttons below the heater controls. Did you use the first 2 pins on the module or just the one where it is burned?
Yes I used both and connected them to the ground in the factory harness.

I replaced mine and still nothing. Any ideas of what else it could be?
There is a chance the module couldve went bad, or the connections are not plugged in somewhere/ shorted out.

Figures. Ford saved literally pennies to run that ground through one wire instead of two,
