@@MakerOfChase I agree, but the truth is that the helpers and the healers are present! They are just drowned out by the people that are talking a great deal but are not saying anything of value to the people. We need people that will tell us the truth, and that will also stand up for the needs of the majority of the people. We have to stop letting the superwealthy corporations and people evade taxation, with the expectation that the already overtaxed citizens will just pay more so they pay less. We live in a very insane nation that is rapidly evolving into a third world nation with better-educated citizens because the needs of the majority of people are unmet and have been that way for at least 60 years.

@@isabell.etkind9765 we are seeing this from different socioeconomic views. Growing up in a multicultural community, you really can only trust firefighters. They don't ask questions, they just react with kindness and bravery. A firefighter doesn't have time to question who is in the house, what they look like or if they're worthy of saving. There's no description to fit before help is considered. Unfortunately, this generations of distrust that is the deep seeded issue under everything you said. Bottom line, we both agree that we can do better. For everyone.

Why on earth would the police wish evidence to be removed after a terrorist attack?
There was a great irony in seeing a US Congressman clean up water bottles police passed out to insurrectionists inside the Capitol.
Peacefully protest against an actual injustice, you are beaten and arrested.
Take part in an insurrection over a perceived injustice, the police hand out water and you take selfies with them after having killed one of them.

He was actually initially elected because a large group of women, I believe, went around, door to door, and handed out mail-in ballots. Here's a feel good bonus you may not have known. Johnny Costa was the musical director for Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood. He was an incredible Jazz Pianist & composer. Every episode of Mr Rodgers was scored by Mr. Costa. In addition he never played the Mr Rodgers song during the closing credits, the same way across the entire span of the show Every shows close was a different improvisation
Mr. R & Costa were not afraid to let kids hear great but complicated music. I truly think this is one of the cornerstones for my personal appreciation of music & my musical pursuits.

@Elena Hi Elena, it’s an excellent point you make! Just to reassure you and clarify my post, when I said ‘deserving’ I wasn’t speaking of the downtrodden and those most in need of help. I was speaking of the cynical leaders who fomented the recent coup; I meant the US Representatives who brought insurrectionists into the Capitol and provided them with floor plans of the Capitol building. I especially meant any of several large corporations like Google and Amazon who pay no tax on their earnings, yet have the gall to claim Covid Relief packages meant for small businesses. I was 13-14 when I heard a US official sum up our changing domestic policy with, “Corporations are people too.” It gave me chills. 35+ years later, it’s time to lift the downtrodden and put the American people back up where they belong-at the helm of our democratic processes, not under the wheels.

I have a six year old and absolutely lost it when he started talking about his kids. When the pandemic first really ramped up, I dropped my son off at daycare and went to work as usual only for one of my co workers who sat in the cubicle right next to me leave early because her daughter was very sick.
I am immunocompromised and my manager pulled me into her office as a courtesy to let me know my co workers daughter was getting covid tested and she wanted me to work from home starting the next day. Later that afternoon, we learned that the official in charge of our office had a confirmed case and our office was being formally shut down and everyone would have to work from home.
I had to call my ex and tell him I’d been exposed, potentially twice, and he decided to pick up our son from daycare that night and keep him until I was clear from either the neg test on my coworkers kid or the exposure from my boss.
It was the longest week I’ve ever had and I legit sobbed when I picked up my son after not seeing him for so long, after thinking I might never see him again.
I still can’t believe all of this is happening, and I’m very glad he got to hold those little ones again.
