Great video Hila of one of our great Canadian companies 🇨🇦. I am sure they will appreciate the additionally traffic. They are truly a gem! They do offer a free and very practical pattern called the Émilie Sweater for those that want to test the water, which is how I began sewing their patterns. They offer patterns that target sporting attire tennis, figure skating, ballet, swimwear etc and plenty of everyday wear too. I am not affiliated with the company, but do enjoy the patterns this wonderful Canadian company offers!

Thanks for this video Hilla. I love Jalie as well and have the exact same problem with the Eleanor Jean, I definitely should revisit this pattern

French pronunciation is the correct one. I've never bought Jalie paper patterns though I have used their pdf patterns so it was really interesting to see the paper version! I've always found Jalie patterns to be very good - both in terms of fit and instructions. Hubby definitely likes them!

Thank you, Hila! I have never used Jalie Patterns (french, no?), but you have encouraged me to try them!

It sounds like "Jolie" (pretty in French) but instead of "oh" the vowel sound is "ah" .. the emphasis on the second syllable is how it sounds French.

Jalie Patterns should definitely have a French pronunciation - the owners are French speakers from Quebec. I love their patterns. I have two that I sew almost all the time - 2805 and 2918. My children have grown up with them, I sew them for myself, and for my mother and mother-in-law.

Sorry Jalie not Julie. Autocorrect can be a pain.

I'm Canadian so I can help. The pants are Henri which are pronounced En-ree. Faux rhymes with Low. I loved the video and I didn't realize they have so many sizes in one pattern. I'm going to check them out. I also subscribed to your channel.

I didn't know you had been on the sewing bee? I'm in USA and can't watch anymore. A long time ago there was a way, but BBC changed that...

It was a Pattern Review Sewing Bee 🐝 on their site. They run one every year and it's quite intense. I never completed again!

Sorry I cannot help you with the pronunciation - Google translate was a great resource. BTW, double brushed poly (DBP) is always a great choice for leggings!! Keep sewing!

The jeans pattern looks like a knockoff of the French Canadian jeans brand Parasucco. They had a fit that would stop traffic .. something clever about a slimming panel and butt lifting design. Parasucco's print advertisements were banned from the Toronto transit system for being too racy. Toronto is the large city in English Canada that used to be known as "Toronto the good". Compare that to Montreal in French Canada where the motto its "don't get caught".
