This was lovely!!! My mom’s jewelry box is full of ‘beautiful ugly’ things (like the 1960s plastic clip-on earrings she made). Brings me joy to look at the pieces and occasionally wear a piece or two.
I enjoy the daily edit of what you plan to wear. I appreciate when you explain why you chose one piece over another. Love all of the vintage items you collect, and maybe you could share more about the designers and what they were influenced by, sort of a history of fashion ‘flash lesson’. Perhaps walk through a store today (maybe you’ll have to bring the merchandise home) and suggest ways to elevate an outfit. I shop for new clothes seasonally because my size varies… menopause… so it’s fun to think about how Carla would suggest wearing current items. The best part of your channel though is you. As a fellow Gemini, I cannot tell you how much joy and reassurance it brings me to see some have a healthy way of experimenting with style, while also resisting the waste that so often accompanies the fashion industry these days (ex. fast fashion). I used to constantly get down on myself for wanting to change up my wardrobe and felt like I HAD to donate what I had to make room. There are so many pieces that I would have adored today that I just got a little bored of in the moment and donated because I felt like I had to. But some glitz in 1960’s teen years from social pomp to hippie-ish., professional life later but mostly PNW fleece/down closet now 😂Love color and fabrics + thrifting, of course. Saw an art piece on someone’s vlog of small rectangles of favorited fabric forming a large grid with mostly white space. Love your next generation, in all her glory, bringing up the ranks! I have so many beautiful pieces that I haven't paid much for and am now in a place where I can actually spend money on staples that I love. I too can run marathons in platforms.i have bad feet as well..I've broken the bones in my foot more times than I care to speak on but what the heck 15 times..I have very high arches and platforms suit my feet better and give me extreme comfort

My grandmother was a professional seamstress and the fabulous, one of a kind hand-me-downs that I’ve still got and are handing down to my granddaughters makes me so happy!

My plan is to design it all myself, and taking the tour of your closet has given me some food for thought. I like to repurpose vintage items for storage. Antique dental cabinets and salvaged science cabinets that held slides for microscopes are what I use to house most of my flat jewelry pieces. My grandfather’s wooden tool box holds makeup. A tall wooden cabinet with 22 drawers that held sheet music also works well for makeup. I’ve resisted (so far) from getting one of those big blue print cabinets (with all those 3” tall drawers) that used to be in an architects office 50 years ago 🤣. I’m obsessed with being organized, because I have so much stuff that if it’s not organized, how can I find my fabulous statement piece for the outfit I’m wearing if things are chaotic? Wouldn’t you agree?

I actually went and scoured the Earth and finally thrifted a pair of pewter boots to wear with a white maxi dress after that infamous video! I also bought over the knee and thigh high boots to wear under dresses and skirts with high splits! Thank you!

I'm 79 years old, so I have a LOT of clothes in six closets but nothing compared to what you have. I work out, walk 10,000 steps a day and I am on a keto diet to stay in shape to wear all of my clothes. I can't wait to watch more of your videos. Love the shorts. BTW, I went recently to a formal event and pulled out one of my jeweled purses in my collection. I could not put my phone inside. It was too small!

Ikea USED to sell these amazing shorts/skirt hangers that had felt on them and clamped together rather than ‘clipped’. Sadly I don’t believe they make them anymore
