run it on nitro! love the flatties...I have a 1950 merc engine. had it for 30 years and am finally getting to rebuild it. fenton heads, edelbrock tall 2 duece intake, 97's, isky cam, mallory dual point. should be a runner.going in a 51 f-1 pickup. good times.
Back in the later 60's there was a guy (Pete Milar) who published Drag Cartoons magazine and campaigned a flathead powered FED. Don't know if Pete, the mag or the dragster are around anymore?
i love the old flatheads. i think there the most bad ass looking engine there is, but honistly theres no power to be made with them. this video is cool beans tho
well have you blown it up yet? I have never seen a blown flathead last long. the center exhaust ports always seem to be the breaking point on the block. the block are now to damn old, for heavy racing use. I don't get why people keep doing it. i've seen way to many good blocks trashed.

Flatheads are so f-ing cool, but never heard of one built up making much more than 400 horse. They're very nostalgic, but not real power houses.
