    This is amazing! I am planning on making a cyberdeck with my new pi 4, and this video helped a lot with ideas. Thank you for posting this. My favorite part is the small stats panel.

    Great project, but you are missing one important thing - you need something like LORA, some kind of low frequency radio - one or two H-12 radio boards connected to RPI over serial.
    With a good antenna, and low bitrate, you can get a kilometer or more range. It is the best radio solution for this kind of doomsday computer, which does not require an amateur radio license (I think it is must have for version 2).
    Such a setup could provide a circle of one kilometer with low power human presence sensors, which would work for months on batteries and report to the doomsday computer when they detect movement.
    And of course communication by messages within that one kilometer circle.

    Plastic & foam are easy to work with, inexpensive, and light weight, but don't conduct heat. Foam can also trap moisture. If your aren't having problems with heat, then this is great!

      Open cell foam used for things like aquariums can offer a much more porous surface to pull air through while offering resistance to splashing. You'll likely need a fan to get any good airflow though

    Other than one small point I'll put at the bottom of this comment, I really like the concept of this. My head is now swimming with ideas, not only this, but a series of modular additions for improvised comms to go with it. Like I always say, anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
    The one small point, hardly worth mentioning: I've been a network engineer for over 20 years, and I needed to google what an "RJ45 Ethernet Splitter" is. It's actually more absurd than I'd guessed. Please throw that thing out and get an RJ45 bulkhead connector if you want to extend the port up to the top plate.

    • @randomplayer7186
      @randomplayer7186 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Why a bulkhead? For protection? Don't see any difference with the splitter, but I don't know what the use for multiple enternet.

    • @BryanVukich
      @BryanVukich 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@randomplayer7186 bulkhead so it can attach. The splitter doesn't really provide multiple Ethernet, it's not a switch. It provides multiple physical ports, but you can only use one at a time, which is just about the most useless thing I've ever heard of.

    • @RaspduinoUno
      @RaspduinoUno  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for your comment! The rj45 splitter was the only thing I had on hand that could extend the ethernet port up to the plate, hence I decided to just use it instead of buying an ethernet extension😅 Theoretically, I agree using the splitter is silly but since I only wanted to extend the port, it does the job. Should have made it clear in video though, my bad. I would have went for a whole network switch instead if i had the space!

    Is there an easy way to attach the mobile solar panels/any other power source to recharge the power bank that is not shown here? Also, can the power bank charge through (be charged externally while still providing power to active components at the same time)?

    • @RaspduinoUno
      @RaspduinoUno  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The solar panels have a built in usb port where you can just plug a cable in to charge the powerbank. And for your second question, my powerbank doesn't support charging and delivering power at the same time.

    Great video! May i ask you please the model of the powerbank that you used for this project? I am asking that because It seams to be very difficult to find a powerbank that can deliver 5v at 5a. Do you have a low power message from the os? Thx :)

      Thanks! Faced the same problem as you, couldn't find a powerbank that outputs at 5V 5A. My powerbank only outputs at 5V 3A, but it has been pretty reliable so far (browsing and watching TH-cam videos etc) without any unexpected shutdowns. The only message I got was that power to peripherals will be restricted as I only have 3A.

    you could fix the flexing of the top interior plate, by making it a custom cut lightweight metal plate, instead of a plastic one. This would increase the strength of the build, and make it easier to remove without bending/ breaking the plate.

    Do you get undervoltage warnings from using the powerbank? I'm struggling to find something rated high enough Amps to power a rpi5 and still provide power to USB devices and the screen. I'm considering using 2 power banks, 1 providing power to the screen only and one that has fold out solar panels for the Pi5. The best ive found online is 4.5A. What is yours rated to and would you mind providing the specific model you used? Thanks
    Edit: Also dont you still need to press the power button on the back of the PI in order to start it up? Your switch would just enable the cable from the power bank wouldn't it?

      The Pi automatically boots up when you supply power. The switch on the Pi is for turning it on when you shut it down without disconnecting power.

    You need to add some SDRs, LORAWAN meshtastic, multi-volatage charging support, emergency med, eatable plants (regional), a stripped down router, eternal battery, solar, wind, and a water turbine, line the entire inferior with cooper tape, ground it when in storage, a large mirrored HD, mesh tools, (Analog Devices SDR (transmit and receive - transmission in a nation or regional.emergeny is permited without a ham radio license) but if not sure you will be able to see plane traffic, monitor radio chatter, and if SATs are flying like GOES a helix QHF (see pi projects manual -I made it), an RTL-SDR, or a Hack RF1 and or Hack RF One. Lossless cable to distance yourself from your antenna and you or be radio quite. But ABS-B will show you all the plane if any and the GOES sats will show you the entire Earth if you use the high bandwidth freq. I was even going to buy some small helium whipping cheam canisters to carry my insulated wifi antenna up high via a teather to create a "community wifi with a 20w amp" and either the included antenna and a Omni directional larger antenna. Create a mesh hotspot and chat. I have a 3 d printer and the next sized two cases. I was going to build exactly that but a little more on steroids and protected from an EMP as well as download a time are they really helpful emergency and knowledge first aid emergency surgery natural medications for your region from the sdrs and antennas to put transmit and receive as well as a bunch of copies of different OS versions and a container inside with some backup parts of breadboard some other electronics and so redundancythe ability to run off of any electrical source. I actually have a project listed on hackaday for the cyberdeck 2024 which will be a amateur radio best portable rogue Brown station for a proof of concept for cybersecurity but also just a harvest amateur radio or a apocalypse full size case with a mini ATX with 12 volts and how much more capable router and switching devices. More batteries are more powerful basically an upscale version of the smaller version I'm working on now. Buy me a wealth of community-wide information so if it's safe I could hoist up my a little stronger Wi-Fi hotspot and share and start Amish my local radio club is so computer adverse the only one I put on the voice over IP into their router. Me merely stating plugging in her head is berry pie got me like blackballed from the club. But I'm determined and eventually I have to take the test in a foreign language my second language unless I leverage an actual it's not subterfuge of the United States doesn't recognize mymy dual nationality they accept it but my last homicidal is my official domicile in the United States so I should be able to take the FCC amateur radio test there in English and it's much easier even all the way up to the because here the top level you better be an electronics. Engineer and they're not helping me obviously so they do have reciprocity with the licenses of other transfer my top of a us and take their entry level which is which are the rules. My current country in my estimation is absolutely awesome is a direct democracy with universal Health Care and the quality of life is excellent education excellent everything gets voted on by the population major changes to the law but we're going through a period of nationalism and because I have not was not born here even though I've been a citizen for 17 years and one guy actually got up from the table when he found out where I wasn't born here and got up and left wouldn't eat with me or talk to me for two weeks. this club actually I'm injured I was a victim of crime and I'm suffering from severe post-traumatic stress disorder from my work to your political in nature they left me in the woods and I just had a hip transplant. Can you believe the cruelty that was involved in that because they were aware. I'm a NATO I'm in Europe JFK sent my father on a NATO mission. I'm a Kentucky native and my official Federal domicile is in Kentucky so any amateur radio operators wishing to give me a video test using my official domicile in Kentucky please get in touch with me cuz I'm ready. I can use it for short periods of time here but eventually I have to do the official reciprocity procedure. It's helping me to recover from my extreme severe postural stress disorder at the level of warfighter (3 assassination attempts to one of which was two sessions of torture I invaded and was reacquired) altru I was in yoga and doing a body scan and I just started bawling man and yoga teacher came out she read my file she looked to me and she said oh crap that really happened to you! I since the last one that they tried three guys they didn't get it. Second time was torture and a cell phone smuggled in and help me out. First time straight assassination almost twice a nurse like a fake nurse came to the hospital and then my security team started searching the nurses that they fotmed a barrier. I refuse to pee in my bed and I used to be a paramedic so I'm plugging my IVs and they wouldn't let the nurse has stopped me and I went to the bathroom took a place but leaking blood came back plug my IVs back these guys have Federal permits security heavy weapons anywhere in the country. The quasi Federal because foreign diplomats and VIPs can't carry their arms hear you might know because we just had a conference and I was talking to one of the guys coming back he operates the Orlikkon and was carrying a SIG550 (so active duty and recent veterans will know exactly where I am). I'm signed up for all green lights 5 doctors waiting for the final approval for nature medicine June 2021 Severe complex post-traumatic and M&#A eiserne perfect that was a phase 3 clinical trial placebo-controlled multicenter. If I'm approved and it words that I'm going to be advocate for all service people who were in the Middle East. I know many of you especially JSOC are suffering and it still being considered in the US bread to proved here by 50 doctors and I've got my letter in already pre-approved by four!!!! It's a three to six months once a month administration if it works on me I'm going to write write write write write I'm a lawyer. I know what you're going through my first diagnosis was 15 years ago and the people who are around me didn't listen. I lost 15 years of my life in the last year has been a real turn around only because I moved to another city. They've lost control of a certain part of of this country and the other safe. But they just trip with their budgets so... My hopes and wishes are with those departments hope they wrangle in the bad guys who profited off of the drunken ideological idea of lasting peace in your and cut the budgets for all these. I had to work a lot for a year and surrounded by 15 super duper guys. My Chief has PSTD and it runs this marriage to the love of his life hope you can turn around I told him what to do and this man has nothing to be ashamed of he is the most dangerous toughest guy I've ever met my life. We're good I mean really good at this job we are shooting range and he cleared his 9 in a single fluid movements, it was using the the table on the edge he just he just one movement and just kept going and didn't miss a beat gun without missing a beat and he said oh we better get out of here and the guy chases down the owner and see who in the heck are you! What number of you no matter how tough how dangerous how good you are at your job how much training you've had he started when he was 14. He was the number one in his group I mean he's Tier 1 easy. No shame. The human body was not meant to be in fight or flight for that long for that sustained. And it gets stuck. And then you find anything you can no matter how extreme to try to cover up what you feel I get it!
    As a learning has become my life that has mechanism that is healthy so this is why I'm building this stuff and learn about Electronics on programming my own large language model machine I just got from huggingface.co you can learn everything you want to know everything you know and it'll help you and that's why I'm building mine but the second version which is going to be in between with this man just built which is super cool by the way I'm not bring you down in any way just giving you a few tips on maybe with survive an actual EMP. and then maybe if it ever happens hopefully God help us but a mesh some more people having these that are shielded that can turn on the radios if it's safe and listen only if it's not.... And if it's safe we open up a mesh and we start rebuilding a communication system. Voice over IP from these 50 60 70 year old engineers who hate me because I'm an immigrant even though I'm a western immigrant they hate all immigrants. I am a healthcare and political refugee because they actually follow their constitution I haven't it's a federalist it's like this dates have power and the federal government has only the military and the intelligence and post and the stuff that was supposed to be not the commerce clause or legal extortion with highway funds! And then the balance to that democracy is a we vote on every change to the federal law we vote a lot . And we have like 20 different parties most of them are normal kind of parties but we have one called the pirate party. That's funny and kind of cool. But only an idiot would ever try to invade this country. We have The High ground everywhere and every male has a 6515 in his house. We can blow the valley entrances we can see lost five distinct sections and we're dug in .... The Rhinemetal l Orlikon Sky King system where to find a book that they bought it from us.... What's the Marine who does a breakdown of other military look at what are special operators go through 😂

      Check out my other video on the LoRa communicator below! Will be making a faraday cage to store these items as well, so do keep a lookout for that video! Thank you for watching, and thanks for the sub :)

    Why the ethernet splitter?

    • @RaspduinoUno
      @RaspduinoUno  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your comment! The rj45 splitter was the only thing I had on hand that could extend the ethernet port up to the plate, hence I decided to just use it instead of buying an ethernet extension😅

      @@RaspduinoUno That makes sense. I guess the question I should have asked is what do you anticipate plugging into those ports?

    Since the title lists "Doomsday Computer," you're missing the most important piece . . . where's the Faraday Cage? A doomsday computer is useless if it gets fried from an EMP.

      Thanks for your feedback, will be posting an updated design with a faraday cage to protect from EMP attacks!
