Just an FYI, we are aware of the CPU running at a lower clock speed. It has to do with the power profile we had enabled (which we figured out after filming).
You can expect even more performance with the right profile

@Mr. Wollium the problem is you are looking at ore built. Do some research and build your own budget system. You could build a computer with last gen amd and a rtx 1660 super and spend like 700 usd.

Bought one that was unboxed the day before for $500 on fb marketplace. It runs God of War on high settings... Before that I was playing rdr2 on my 2016 omen with a 960m.. This laptop will probably last me at least 4 or 5 years.

The specs are really good for a budget laptop...the only cons that I would have on this laptop is that cringe hinge, I've experienced the problem when you close and open the lid to after a while you'll notice that the backcover of the screen will pop out down from the hinge breacking up the retention clips....

DLSS shows a great promise, but it still is implemented in only a handful of games so it really is not the game changer it could have been.
I wouldn't take it man, only 4 gigs of Vram is going to age so bad.
For now, it's a decent 1080p-capable GPU I guess. But it's 4GB of VRAM will definitely hurt it's longevity.

Hi Toasty Bros. Thank you for reviewing this laptop. I bought this exact laptop two days ago. It was recommended by a coworker who is a gamer. I will be using it primarily for business (VDI) and research. I'm not a gamer, but I wanted something with enough power and ram that I will not need to replace it for the next five years. I noticed you made different display changes for each game. Please recommend any display settings, power settings too, that I can use to improve the display for general use. For example, this review looks good, but not great while watching. I think it could be brighter and bolder. I have the bjrightness at maximum. Also, I would expect it to run faster. Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Better battery mode is a life saver on these high end laptops, other than that there are ways you can get your laptop to use the intergrated graphics instead of the graphics card if you don't need it but I am not sure how to do it

The fact that people do not open the chassis to see the cooling and accessibility in these reviews blows my mind
The cooling seems alright, I've opened mine to add more memory and it ain't to bad, a bit loud during most games but it could be worse haha, I needed to get one for college as I cannot bring my gaming computer there haha. But yeah, its snappy barely lags in games which it will run most on medium to high settings.

3050 ti laptops cost as much as a rtx 2060 while underperforming the 2060
so 2060 laptops are a better pick at least in my country
and 3050 ti should have been 6 gb vram
I assume the selling point is the 3050ti is more capable in the ray tracing department, not sure how valuable the really is on a budget laptop where you're likely sacrificing settings for framerate

Imo focus of the 3050/ti is better CPU with same or lower price. Performance per generation is good i think, it's like don't buy 1650/ti just buy 1060, now don't buy 3050/ti just buy 2060, later don't buy 4050 just buy 3060, it's the cycle of nvidia
Bruh I have the older version of this (r9 4900H 1660ti) and half of the cooling ports aren't cut out.
Have a 1070rtx 8gb in my desktop for 4k but bought a 3050ti rog strix for on the go and I can honestly say it's really great for the money don't let the vram put you off it's handled everything looking good and really stable frame rates and a snappy n.2 drive there is really not much need to spend more

i changed the ram to 32gig big game changer now everything runs high and the frames for the most intense games stay around 125-140 but game like fornite and battlegrounds jumps to 180-220

@@statomic Its good. before I turned it on I made it 32gb of ram. I only got it for CAD and some programming. I imagine you could game on it just fine with most games. Just won't be able to max out the graphics (the 4gb video ram is limiting but the processor does work).

I actually ended up getting this laptop since you recommended. Idk why but my games come out stuttering time to time,I even upgraded the ram and repasted to help the Temps but yeah nothing helped as much

That laptop is nearly identical to the Acer nitro V laptop I game on when I travel, only difference seems to be the video card mine is a GTX 1650 And the one in this one is a 3050 ti. Other than that that ASUS laptop it looks almost exactly the same.

This isn't a 4K screen, good gosh people. 4GB gets the job done at 1080P, and this card is budget gpu, not a 5+ years gpu.

I just got one of these with an 11th gen i5 and a 3050ti for $800 at Bestbuy. It’s only 8gb of ram and 512gb ssd but they’re both upgradable. Definitely a good value if you ask me especially since that 30 series cards are still crazy expensive and hard to get

@@blakeee3593 nope. None at all to be honest while running games optimized through invidia’s software. It’s a great laptop with room for storage/ram upgrades.
I got mine on sale for $800 at bestbuy but I’ve actually seen it on sale cheaper on bestbuy just keep an eye on the price. It went to $1,000 shortly after I bought and when I went to show a friend the specs and it was listed at $750.

The mobile 3050 Ti is not between the 1660 and 2060, that's the coming desktop variant. The mobile 3050 Ti is about equal to a desktop 1650 Super.
Yeah, I checked on userbenchmark. The laptop probably just performed well cause of the good cpu

I bought this laptop and oh my god is sooo good for 600, I also upgraded the ram and storage and runs every game soooo smooth. I mainly play warzone and I never run to any issue or fbs. I really recommend this laptop.

Dang this laptop gaming ability & movements looks great. I'm not even a gamer, just looking for a good $1,000 to $1,500 daily laptop to watch movies on. But I probably would use this laptop or any laptop I buy for gaming.

Its Vram limitations hold it back. You are better off grabbing a laptop with a decently powered RTX 2060 for the exact same price - but only if it is at least packing a hexacore i5.
The 3050ti/Ryzen 5800h combo is the better choice for competitive gaming although. At ultra-low settings this thing will fly with the latest Ryzen chip.
3050ti is vastly better than the 2060 machines.
For me, I just play World of warcraft and this machine destroys it. I'd prefer to have an 8 core 16 thread cpu then a 6 core older slower cpu with a 2060.

@@ToastyBros ah okay. even then, considering it was in eco mode, weren't the temps a bit concerning? like i know its a laptop and all , but the gpu was at 600-80 percent usage in those game and going over 80c. and that was when the cpu wasnt even pulling the power it should have, and it too was in mid 70s.

It is aimed at budget online FPS players. To hit that 144 sweet spot you need to lower the settings beneath the Vram threshold anyway.
I can't imagine many people are considering owning one of these for the long haul. You may aswell save up a couple of hundred extra and get its hotter, noisier older brother: the 3060 model.

anything under 80 degrees Celsius on a LAPTOP is very good. especially considering they said the fans were quiet. laptop fans are ridiculously loud , so no. temps arent bad

@@thirtienyne3581 it was on eco mode, the cpu was super downclocked, the gpu was never touched 90 percent usage. in regular usage both components would hit 90c i bet, with cpu clocking much higher pulling more power, and the gpu clocking higher and being closer to full utilisation as well. and asus for some reason decided to block half the vents.
You know its bad when hp runs cooler than this. Also just look at the openings at the bottom of the laptop. There is so little open space for air to come in and I assume even if you do make more ventilation openings it won't make a big difference because they put fans in a dumb position. Especially with a 30 series gpu. Lenovo legion 5 has beffier cooling for a 1650 .

Get a Lenovo Homie. You can get a Legion 5 with a RTX 2060 with alot more RAM for like $100 more. This laptop is laughable for the amount of RAM it comes with.
