The essence of sharing with each other the secrets in legend of zelda is gone though. You used to have to talk to actual people in real life because there was no internet. Not all of them knew every secret of the game. Through face to face exchange of what each person knew you pieced together all the secrets over quite a few years. Each conversation both persons learned new things. I remember going to Texas to see family members I never met before and learning through my cousins how to beat the game. With this knowledge I came back and taught everyone else I knew that played the game how to do it.
zelda link to the past is one of the greatest games of all time, for the snes. any gamer should play it atleast once in their life time. the music is stellar. sound effects stellar. art is stellar. the story and lore stellar. even things like illuminati art work in the game even adds more to the lore, as if perhaps illuuminati played a role in the games creation. the game also was the perfect balanced of length of game, puzzle, and skill, where it all just blended so well, and the game was too long or too short.
This sounds like game development and not sure what was the lost game as you didn't show that at all. Initial artwork that doesn't make it into the game does not constitute a game that was never released.
That screen shot shows us nothing and means nothing lol. I imagine someone was like how can we make the dungeons entrances look, and that was a concept idea, and another guy said nah looks ugly. Thats probably the entire story lol
Fun video. Lol, I was playing Zelda 2 for the first few minutes and then restarted the video. The hidden red knight in the island palace kicked my patoot.

11:57 we definitely didn’t know what to do when we first played it. You didn’t know if you were hurting the bosses cause we had never seen an enemy react to damage before! What is the sound of damage???? This was our first encounter with it. Battling that rhino that took 3 bombs???? We had no idea what was going on. No way to know you are supposed to feed the thing bombs. How would you? It was crazy
@@Christ_is_Lord_ yeah we were dropping bombs all around him and by mistake he ate the bomb and that’s how we figured it out. I can’t remember my kids birthdays but remember playing this game for the first time clear as ice.

6:19 So Mario Bros and the Zelda series has WAY more in common than we thought. 😅 Thats really kinda neat. Fun fact tho, Lady D, have you ever played Zelda rom hack ‘The Legend of Super Mario: Save the Mushroom Kingdom’? It literally drops Mario into Link’s shoes, replaces all of the enemies with Mario enemies, and EVEN has a Zelda-esqe Mario soundtrack made especially for it. SUCH A GOOD HACK.
It's cool to know that Zelda was one of the first nes games to have battery backup *Notice I said one as it wasn't the only games with this feature* as where most games were password saves
I was always curious, the NES at the 1:23 mark has black buttons. Was the NES ever going to have black buttons on it and has that console ever been found or worth anything because of it?
Dungeon selection screen, eh? So the original vision was something more like the shallow mobile games of today, then? Like how Angry Birds or whatever else has a level select and you load up a particular puzzle and solve it and get a score on how quick / efficient you solve it. Weird. In a strange way though I'm kinda almost feeling a bit of a vibe of how Star Tropics and Star Tropics 2 handled their game worlds. Like each game had their overworld maps in certain parts of the game to navigate between two locations but really (at least if I recall the games correctly) 95% of each game was a dungeon crawl through a linear sequence of dungeon maps. The world maps were just a bit of flavor in the transitions between dungeon sessions.
To me it sounds like not much changed at all. It was always the same idea, they just expanded on the idea as development went on. The early beta version would have been more or less the same game but without the overworld. Honestly, the early development of A Link to the Past is far more interesting as it truly was a much different game in the beginning. I would love to see the earlier NES prototype of that one found and dumped one day!
oh, m'lady, i thought that screen shot meant that the game would be set in 3d and you would see the walls from link's point of view and go up and bomb them to see a hole appear
