Yep, sounds awesome! For the controller, another commenter suggested the Wii Bowling Ball Controller. IDK WTF that is, but all the more reason to use it! I looked up more pointless Wii accessories, and I think the Fishing Rod and Balance Board (if that's compatible) would be hilarious options as well.
A challenge where you spin a wheel per mission. Based on where the wheel lands, it says a challenge you must do to beat the level. If the level ends up being impossible before playing it, you can respin it.
Only thing i can really think of right now, is an Absolute Minimum challenge. That means through out the game you collect and kill as little as possible no matter what it is. Doing a mission to Collect 50 rings, you only touch those 50. Need to kill 3 enemies, you only do that number. Need a bit of soul gauge to get past an area, you get just enough to get past. etc. etc.
Hi! Love your videos! Been a fan since the Black Knight challenge run actually! Now, many people have suggested it, but minimalist challenge seems like a fun run. The best way to describe it would be to do the bare minimum required, as shown with the tutorial levels stopping the other challenges. But I feel this would also double as a minimal pacifist run as well. -You cannot collect more than the required amount of rings/spheres -As such, you cannot kill additional enemies and must try to get the bare minimum with the minimal amount of casualties. -Additionally, your previous challenge of no upgrades also fits as “You have to have the bare minimum”. The goal is to go through the game with the minimum amount required and see exactly how much effort is needed for Sonic and the Secret Rings in the first place? Basically… the school equivalent of “It’ll pass even if it’s right on the line of failing.” Either way, keep up the good work!
Maybe instead of a challenge video, you could do a a video discussing the party mode? I used to have a lot of fun with it, and it's surprisingly fleshed out for just a side mode, but I feel like I never hear it talked about of acknowledged as existing ever. Also, it’d kind of like be like a party celebration for your achievement
Since the game is motion controlled, how about how much physical movement is required to beat the game? (Pushing buttons would be free actions, it's only moving the Wii remote around that you'd have to limit)
Now, I didn't hear any restrictions about mods, so here we go. (I pray this game has a mod scene and something like this has been figured out) *Sonic & The Secret Rings Randomizer* Since one of the biggest issues with the original game is the unclear progression and which missions are/aren't mandatory to beat the game, have the levels unlock in a random order (every level beaten flags one random unlock to avoid softlocking; whether or not the original missions in the Lost Prologue that give you the main skills are random is up to you). Ideally, to beat the challenge you have to keep playing until you have the Seven World Rings & have beaten the Erazor Djinn, unlocking Alf Layla-wa-Layla the intended way.
When I first played this game as a kid, I didn't realize you had to actually manually equip the skills to the rings. I just assumed they equipped automatically when you unlocked them. So I beat my first playthrough without using them at all...I was a stupid kid, but I did prove that you don't NEED skills to beat the game, they just let you do it faster. One thing you could try as a somewhat different type of challenge is seeing which missions can be beaten without ANY skills, including the fundamental skills (charge jump, short jump, homing attack, soul gage, jump cancel and jump dash). I know some levels are just straight up unbeatable this way, but others are still beatable, but just significantly harder, and there may be some neat workarounds.
What about a Secret Rings Genicide run? More specifically, in order to move on to the next mission you'd have to defeat every single enemy in the current mission. If you accidentally run past an enemy before killing it, you're not allowed to just turn back (tilting wii-mote back, pressing 2 to back step, etc.), you must restart the level entierly and try again. The challenge ends when you beat every mission and reach the end credits.
Also, I'm not super familiar with the missions or level layout in Secret Rings, but if any missions have split paths then I'd say the best way to proceed is to just play that mission multiple times, one time for each path, killing all the enemies along that path.
I think there's a mission in that game where you are forbidden to kill anything. But my memory of Secret Rings is bad, except for the true ending of the game. I played the real final battle so many times, that I have the entire true ending burnt into my memory for life, word for word. It's the only part of that game I remember so vividly
Congrats on getting far! You've done a lot to get this far and a lot of people are proud of you (I'm one of them). I hope that you continue to have making vids and stay safe!

I think an "All Gold Medals" Challenge Run would be great because it would also unlock most of the gallery. Although, you'd need to hold off until you unlock Time Break and Speed Break because I think those are outright required to get the Gold Medal time requirements. And to complete the gallery (at least the Story Mode parts) add "Completing Big's Travel Diary" to the mix. You might need to look those locations up because he only appears if you stand still in certain areas in very few stages.
@@bigfanofsb653you also need to tilt the controller left and right in order to make it past the first (non-tutorial) level of the game (shuffling on walls) and, also, a bunch of other levels
I don't remember this game well (played it once to the white ring as a kid while I had a fever, all I remember well is the neverending "seven rings in hand" starts, that was a bad time, ) but dont you havs to walk backwards for a few missions? And isnt that tilt backwards?
I have 2 ideas! Secret rings but you cant slow down, making the 1 button useless and the charge jump iffy, which is actually impactful a surprising amount, or just doing a speedrun of the game with a time goal in mind!
This isn’t about secret rings, but one day, I’d love to see you make a challenge vid on Rayman legends without collecting bronze trophies. Since it’s impossible to beat the game without touching lums, the bronze trophyless way (or 4th place run) is a lot more fun, and I was able to do it utilizing some insane moves and pin-point accuracy. It gets really fun and really hard in the level “elevator ambush”, I reccomend it after secret rings.
Idea: 100% minimal skills equipped. Basically, everytime you beat a level with a skill equipped, you can't unequip it for the rest of the run (or until you run out of skill points and need to equip a new skill if skill points exist in this game), once you 100% the game, the amount of skills you had to equip during the run is your score.
I don't think this would actually be that challenging. I beat the game basically without using time break, and speed break is just for simply going faster. You can beat boss battles without it.
Best video idea i can come up with is a perfect playthrough. Basically beat the game with a gold medal rank of the stages you do and if you fail you must reset and do it again

Sonic and the Secret Rings but every time you unlock a new upgrade, you must equip it You can remove prior upgrades but only if there's no room for the newest one. If you get too many upgrades in a batch, add them from most recent to least recent until you can't add anymore
While holding the 1 button might be a bust, you could still do a no walking/running challenge. You could instead try the inverse and do a no jumping challenge, though I have NO idea if that's possible. There's also the combo meal challenge described in other comments, wherein you combine all the ideas you had into a ruleset, similar to Nuzlocke challenges in Pokémon.
Is there a way to get the game to follow your own physical movement? Like for example, in order to get sonic to jump in the game, you have to jump irl, and same with moving left or right. For homing attack idk, lean forward or something. Idk how possible that would be, if it is at all. But I think that could be cool
I have had an idea for a while but I have to ask, have you ever tried to complete the game without stopping?(in other words, can you bet the game without press the 1 button and not pressing the 2 button for a long time because it causes you to stop to jump far). Since there are a lot of instances where you have to slow down because of different reasons, such as bottomless pits or jumping high. You can only tap on the 2 button to short hop to start chain attacks and you can't stomp because it stops your momentum after touching the ground.
The best ideal its a minimalist run, beating the game with the few requirements possible, maybe you should try beating all the levels(Also all Sonic starting Skill should be fair game, since you need to use it to beat the game).
I haven’t played this game in a while and I’m including the party mode so uhh play the game with as little homing attacks as possible. Also I don’t own the game myself 😅
I never finished the game, so I don't know how much of a challenge this would be, but how about a kill everything run? Maybe add breaking every destructible object to the mix? Sorry if this seems utterly ridiculous or way too easy to those who actually know the game.
What about a NG+ run with the goal of beating every single mission, each individual mission with as few skills as possible? Even the humble jump skill gets disabled if it's possible to beat a stage without it. You rank how many Skills were required to beat a mission, and then at the end tally them all up to see the true minimum amount of Skills required.
Can you beat the game while always going full speed? (no breaking or walking backwards or going Sorta Kinda Fast, tallying the moments the game forces you like in tutorials)
Actually just thinking about that. Next time I find one a store, I’ll find a way implement it into the video. I’m a bit iffy with TH-cam seeing that and thinking it’s TH-cam kids material. Then again, I might just be overthinking that
Get yourself a camera and try to beat the game with a blindfold. First play the game without a blindfold and find all kinds of sound cues or count the amount of seconds it takes before you have to do a certain input. "there's an enemy 5 seconds in after running straight so you have to jump after counting to 5" stuff like that. This sounds at the very least possible for the Lost Prologue. If you aren't comfortable having a camera on, I or someone else will attempt the challenge because it's a really good idea
You shoild try to do a minimum jumls challenge, im sure you could find kooky ways to try to circumvent no jumping, or it could be the worst thing ever, who knows
I actually thought about Secret Rings today. What are the odds? Anyway, eventually (maybe after beating the game) you can disable basic skills like charging up your jump. Some missions are not beatable when you disable all of them, I think. So maybe you can figure out an interesting combination that makes the game barely playable.

HEAR ME OUT
DDR PAD
I'm not sure if it's possible but beating the game using the Kinect could be interesting, and would sort of act as a sequel to the April Fools video.
No skills run sounds cool
Make the challenge about that !
There’s a boost in this game right? I think? So why not, Can you beat Sonic and the secret rings without boosting?
you can easily do this the boost is not mandatory at all
so just my normal playthrough of the game but with one or two levels being slightly different
Never played Secret Rings, but maybe try one where you cant homing attack
After this Tutorial... Maybe what about a 7 Rings Challenge. to collect exactly 7 Rings
Secret rings but with inverted motion controlls
100% Minimalist Pacifist. Get as little EXP as possible, kill as few enemies as possible, grab as few rings and pearls as possible, and 100% the game.
Thought you were gunna change to an Mawille dancing?
I was going to do that for the Pokémon video, but due to time constraints and a lack of knowledge, I canned the idea
Play the game without stopping ? Or play with the Wii remote vertically?
Maybe if its possible to do, you could try beating the game with the gun controller add on?
I have no idea for secret rings but you have to try to beat any game with a DDR pad for a controller
The challenge is going to be just beating the game
Maybe do a blindfolded playthrough? It is a unique challenge right?
You shoild try to do a minimum jumls challenge, im sure you could find kooky ways to try to circumvent no jumping, or it could be the worst thing ever, who knows
Can you v beat it while holding the Wii remote vertically?
Secret rings but without the fentanyl
I actually thought about Secret Rings today. What are the odds? Anyway, eventually (maybe after beating the game) you can disable basic skills like charging up your jump. Some missions are not beatable when you disable all of them, I think. So maybe you can figure out an interesting combination that makes the game barely playable.
You have to 100% the game
Secret rings while collecting every ring possible?
Sonic and the secret rings but I can't move backwards? Or that you can't move side to side.
Is it possible to complete Shadow the Hedgehog without collecting any rings?
Since Sonic is on a timer (heart on fire and all) how a bout a run with not only time limites but the soul gauage need to be abouth 1% or its a fail.
