Yo! I just did this with a sparing buddy and it actually worked! I did more a slap glove down but that pull down and throwing off balance arguably works better!
@@Tony_Jeffries hello jeffries i have strugles here, cant seem to find any answer.. so what you think which one should i choose training on pro boxing camp own by pro boxer with lots lots student 10$ amonth 3 times a week or training at national stadium for free everyday, less student, but all student are athletes. which way should i start at first for career?
@Cash Quest thank you so much bro, but this profesinal coach suddenly reject me because the gym didnt accept more boxer again i dont understand im not even asking for place to sleep...
@@Tony_Jeffries Yep great video. I would love to see some videos on how to make workouts on equipment like the double end bag or spar bar more technical and difficult. Like with the punch bag combo videos I love the videos where you give us something that boosts your practical boxing skills and fitness at the same time.
#3 looks like a page right out of Durán's playbook. He used to do that all the time, wrestle his opponents, manipulating the other guy's guard with one hand and hitting on the openings with the other. He just needed a few inches to throw a devastating tight upper down the center. Proper fighting on the inside is a thing of beauty, but unfortunately, it is really tough to do it successfully in the amateurs because most refs will break fighters up as soon as they get real close.
I love yr channel. I find that I get really stressed out with “inside” boxing as this is when my opponent really wants to hurt me and load up with body rips and hooks to the head. In sparring I found that if I relax and let them through lots of punches I can time when they are gassed out and I’ll just throw a really short right uppercut to the chin which will lift their head up just enough to feel them out. On the ropes I will kelp both my hands up then bounce off the ropes and throw a hard short right cross.
Amazing work! You are a king in the boxing youtube channel community! Can you make a video on how to counter people who lean back or duck a lot when you throw jabs or 2's? (Just realized you replied to my last comment about this! I appreciate it!!!)
So I’ve done boxing for a year now & I though you where just gonna give lame ass boxing tips like everyone else but yours are actually realistic in boxing
First of all many thanks for responding greatly appreciated👍🏼👍🏼 I believe the correct term is half step and counter** the half step I believe is when you keep one foot planted and move the other foot in a certain direction to either slip a punch or create and angle to counter..if I am wrong please feel free to correct to me I won’t get offended and I look forward to your insight. Much respect Tony, look forward to learning from your videos🥊🥊

I just started boxing 2 months ago and it's been amazing. I want to compete. How soon (realistically) can I enter a competition? Please answer it would mean a lot to me. I love boxing and I love your videos. Please keep em coming.
@@Tony_Jeffries I have! It's great. But obviously I will be competing sometime mid next year that way I will have some more experience. I wanted to know what you think and if you think that is ok. And maybe how long maybe I should train before I get into a competition. Thank you. Love all your videos
Breaking your opponent's guard to land punches is a great old school inside fighting tactic. Sometimes one has to create an opening when none are available.
Used to do something similar to number 3 but to the body instead. Once in close grappling get one arm underneath the elbow, as you pull it away slip the uppercut in with other arm to the solar plexus. Caught a few guys with it in fights, you know it’s good when you see them wince and keel slightly.

Good video 👍,I didn’t know pull down hand was allowed in boxing,in Muay Thai use it all the time pull hand down elbow comes right over the top bang !!,got to applaud boxers for fighting in close specially body shots, tony personal question have you ever been hit with a liver shot what’s it feel like if you have ??,
It’s refreshing to hear you talk about your flaws while you were fighting.
Love this Tony - simple and sweet
