I wasn't warmed up 3. Since you're not actually hitting anything you can be very prone to overextending on strikes you wouldn't really do in shadow boxing and with such power behind it too. That's my two cents.
If I knocked down Tony Jeffries in VR boxing, I would tell my wife about it every single day at dinner. Not one meal would go by where I didn't bring it up. I would make strangers on the bus uncomfortable by telling them about it without provocation. Somehow, I'm older than you (42...Christ, I'm old), but I'll add you. VR boxing (and kickboxing bag work) has helped me lose 40lbs over the past year. Thankful to be getting back into some semblance of shape other than "round".
Brother I appreciate this. I'm a retired 43yo mma fighter, leaning boxing/kickboxing. I love this game and seeing you also a little winded and competing against spammers makes me feel better about some of my games. I've been playing about 3 weeks and am already getting back into shape.
I've voiced a lot of criticism since this game came out. But the commitment the dev's have to bringing in the best people to help improve it is so admirable. Too many companies these days throw out games that aren't great and move onto the next thing
I'll wait until the issues are actually fixed. I'm not playing a game some child makes himself the height of tyson fury and then just spams a flurry of unblockable hammerfists
Just started this game and good god, it ACTUALLY goes by how strong you punch in real life instead of just flinging your arms about. Plus it relies on actual punch technique and how your punches connect, I suck but hopefully it ends up actually making me stronger.
@@MySlipperytip it goes off a couple different things, not just punch speed, goes off technique and area hit too, but ill be damned if it doesn't feel like you're punching in a dream if you try to ACTUALLY use irl boxing tech. Only reason tony won was because his irl skill overcame the games physics engine, otherwise it seems most people with real life boxing experience do way worse than completely inexperienced kids in this game. Hopefully that will be fixed in time though.

Yo that first knockdown left hook after rolling under his punches was a thing of beauty. One of the cleanest looking VR knockdowns I've seen. It's great that the game is rewarding clean counters off of defensive moves like that!
Dang, this game really helps with your boxing. He was exploiting a vulnerability in your defense to uppercuts. He landed what looked like 3 _big_ hits like that.
Hey Tony a game changer for vr is the after market(not from oculus) accessories, for example the strap it comes with sucks and you can find one more stable and balanced online, they also make hand straps that wrap around your hand that way the cords aren’t flopping around, faceplate is also swappable. Spent about 150 hours total on the first Thrill of the Fight. Absolutely love it and its a massive part of my exercise routine (if you can even call it that). I just played Thrill of the Fight 2 for the first time and won my very first match and I cant believe how rewarding it feels to win in this game. I wouldnt be surprised if active fighters used this game for training in some capacity. And also, I thought my stamina was good in Thrill of the Fight 1 because I would run 12x 3minute rounds but after just 3 rounds of ToTF2 I was absolutely exhausted to the point I tasted blood in my mouth lol. The energy you exert playing this game is REAL.

If you have a gym membership which you never use, I'd seriously consider cancelling it and putting the money towards a Meta Quest (using Thrill of the fight 1 and 2)... I use pass through so that I see the boxer inside my room. This helps prevent accidents

This game really gave me a way to actually have fun engaging in a fight with someone without the physical injury but with the benefits of exercise and practicing certain fundamentals (footwork, spacing, head movement and punching etc etc) And when you find someone who also tried to outsmart and bait you you get this damn great game of mental chess

@R7SkIlZ nope. Index gives you 130⁰@144hz while Q3 has 110⁰@120hz. Q3 has a much higher res @ 4416 x 2064 compared to the Index 2880 x 1600. The main issue is longevity and brand trust lol. The number of Meta games that aren't backwards or forwards compatible is shocking. And also like I said before. The Q3 is too small for my head to even play it lol.

I'm going to have to focus more on head movement like you did I Rely a lot on using the gloves to block the punches
Moments ago tried this game, and quite disappointed - clearly I had better form, more precise punches, more blocks, evades, and stamina than my opponent, but somehow he out damaged me 3x by spamming punches!
Yo Tony, you should get some knuckle straps. That way you dont have to physically hold the controllers. Pair that with a silicon face cover so you can wipe sweat off easy, and a more comfortable head strap, youll be golden.

I don’t know if the game already does this but it should calculate damage based off of total velocity. So if you move your head into a punch it combines the velocity of the punch and your head to increase the damage which is what would happen if you did that irl

I watched this video and got sold on the game. I thought I was in shape before my first match since I stay moderately active. Quickly found out I've got the gas tank of a Fiat 500. I got the W, but it cost me almost blacking out, a broken picture frame, and soreness in my arms and back that I haven't felt since 2020. 10/10 👍
This was amazing, so reassuring to see you going all out just like we all do and then cant breathe, would love to see more and cant wait to aee what the developers come up with to fix some of the problems. I love this game man! I've been training for a while now and this game isn't perfect yet, but it's getting a lot better and it's great for some fun cardio. It really does feel like you just boxed someone (besides not taking any impacts). I really enjoy that this game also allows you to turn on passthrough mode so you can fight them wherever you are. Really makes the experience more fun, and even better if you have the space to use your actual foot movement. It's a great workout and a ton of fun! I'm glad it's YOU who's helping them improve the game because I first started learning off of you and I love how knowledgeable you are in boxing. P.S. I'm from America, so I'm not sure if we would be able to try a match out together (due to wifi reasons), but if it's possible I'd love to go a few rounds with you!
Oh man, I'm so excited for this. I've been playing the first one almost weekly for years. Shadow boxing is a killer workout, and this definitely seems more technique oriented than the first. It's on.
This game is so good, I’m nowhere near as good as Tony but I’ve been an mma fighter for 8 years and it’s actually so real in terms of VR boxing. Apart from the fact your not getting hit this game will give u a pretty decent head start for those looking to get into the ring. ( as long as they have some boxing experience ofc )
This seems like such a great concept. If I ever get a VR headset I'll defo get it. One good addition would be sound effects, like with a good punch you would get an affirmation, a meaty thump or something.

When you play in “Roomscale” mode, moving your feet is already important, don’t need feet sensors.
@@RJ-ph5zgfeet sensors are so that the game knows where your feet are and therefore where your hips are, a lot easier to track punches accurately

Other guy had crazy stamina and was hitting Tony with uppercuts to split his guard those are a LOT harder to block in VR

Just take weights(dumbbells) and punch with them. For the foot training, try to walk upwards while doing the footwork

I love this game man! I've been training for a while now and this game isn't perfect yet, but it's getting a lot better and it's great for some fun cardio. It really does feel like you just boxed someone (besides not taking any impacts). I really enjoy that this game also allows you to turn on passthrough mode so you can fight them wherever you are. Really makes the experience more fun, and even better if you have the space to use your actual foot movement. It's a great workout and a ton of fun! I'm glad it's YOU who's helping them improve the game because I first started learning off of you and I love how knowledgeable you are in boxing.
P.S. I'm from America, so I'm not sure if we would be able to try a match out together (due to wifi reasons), but if it's possible I'd love to go a few rounds with you!

OMG thats amazing, such a valuable training tool. Theres no excuse to not train now, all you need is a headset, no equipment no gym, no opponent. Wow!
Oh man, I'm so excited for this. I've been playing the first one almost weekly for years. Shadow boxing is a killer workout, and this definitely seems more technique oriented than the first. It's on.

This game is so good, I’m nowhere near as good as Tony but I’ve been an mma fighter for 8 years and it’s actually so real in terms of VR boxing. Apart from the fact your not getting hit this game will give u a pretty decent head start for those looking to get into the ring. ( as long as they have some boxing experience ofc )
This seems like such a great concept. If I ever get a VR headset I'll defo get it. One good addition would be sound effects, like with a good punch you would get an affirmation, a meaty thump or something.

Oh man, vr pvp boxing. ToTF1 was great, but without pvp it just wasn't what I was after. This feels like what everyone has been waiting for since wii sports boxing.
