It was a pleasure and a honor to play bass guitar for Natalie on this TV special. I'll always remember the tours and recordings we made together. R.I.P my friend Bobby Eaton.
Natalie was the cream of the crop. She broke so many records, and accomplished so many first. Yes she was/ is a Legend. But never truly appreciated for her genius of transcending genres . 2 #1 RnB. Albums , 4 #1 Jazz Albums, 1 #1 Pop Album, 1 #1 Latin Album (9 consecutive weeks) What more did she have to do ? RIP Diva
I saw her perform live in Miami Marine Stadium in the early ..90's. I missed seeing her in Montego Bay Jamaica in 1996. Also missed seeing her in Miami again because she passed away a few months before the scheduled Concert. However I found a video of her in Sinbad Summer Series 1996...Jamaica.
I really do think Natalie Cole has been unappreciated in R&B music.First of all, Natalie was the en was the stuff back in the 70s!! Five #1 hits in two four years which back then was unheard of. She can do jazz, rock, gospel, soul, and pop. No other 70s diva had a network special other than Donna Summer. I have only seen her get one tribute or Lifetime Achievement Award when Patti, Diana, Gladys, and Chaka who I love have gotten so many. She deserves more props as a LEGEND.
Right. Seems like people always forget she was a big R&B star before she moved into jazz and standards. Nobody threw it down like Natalie. There was an energy about her.
She was a beautiful woman and I am so dumbfounded that she didn't become a model or did acting on the tv screen. She reminds me of a beautiful black Barbie.
Good Latin Jazz Flavor. Good to practice with Timbales with the Jam Block to set the Clave. I have this vinyl, but Capitol Emi in the Credits the brass section is missing, what are the saxophones, trombones and trumpet performers on the recording
This is just wonderful.

Wish we can get clearer copy
I was literally listening intently to the bass here!!! Amazing job man.
The voice, the moves, the hair, THAT dress!!! She is everything!
RIP Natalie - Sophisticated lady!
I remember this Special. Natalie could sing, scat, everything.

Could've done a country album and that would've done well, too! Surprised she didn't do so when she was still with us, though.
