Hey, Mr James, got a question for you. So, we just had a mechanic put a new cylinder head on. He used the old injectors, but I am not sure if he replaced the carbon washers. Can these be a culprit as well? My truck runs fine until you get in the higher gears. Blows black smoke when shifting. It's a 14L 60 Series. Had cylinder cut out test done and had to replace #5 Injector, but all the other injectors showed to fire and cut out like they're supposed to. Any advice, it is greatly appreciated.
Hmm. I had black fuel on my 60 series but power service biocide cleared it up. A 16 oz bottle in each tank at first to really shock the system and a half bottle every couple months and my davco is spotless.
I have a question, I did the same test on all the injectors but none of them do like the one in the video but if it comes out again and again and another bubble when I have it at 60 psi the clock goes down every time
check your in jector tip, if 12.7 l or old 14l year 2003 ,2 vpods , injector need 3 thin o ring+ 1 thick bllck o ring ( sit on injector cup,and injector ) and 1 carbon seal on nozle tip.
I have this same problem after an inframe and reman injectors. I have had back at shop as it looses prime will sputter when you first start it and davco fuel filter never has that visible inch of fuel have been told its sucking air and has algae. this seems like more of a possibility. the fuel economy is also suffering. any input??
I'm currently having this problem. I've been told probably 20 different reasons and of course my mechanic wants to do a inframe. I think I'm just going to change the injectors and the injector cups.
Bro please help me im having the same problem with my 12.7 i have a black tint to my fuel i had it in the ahop about 3 weeks ago and they changed the oring on all 6 inectors with the carbon seal on the bottom now its still having the same problem black tint fuel in the tank and it doesnt leak oil not even 1 bit im just super confused and wishing someone can help me fix this problem i called the same mechanic that did the work and he said the next opption is taking off the head and getting it rebuilt
@@joetorres2363 so im not the only one with this problem thank you joe torres for letting me know im going to run the truck like that too its been in the back of my mind if i was hurting something else but thank you for reassuring me that its ok to run it like that..
I really don’t know bro. After reading your comment I almost certain that I will throw money away if I have it worked on and still have the same issue. As far as I know my it won’t hurt it one bit because I have been running my truck like this for a LONG TIME
@@joetorres2363 ive been tracking down the problem for over a year im about 6k in it already and still hasnt cleared up it was in the shop 2 weeks ago and got all 6 injectors changed again since they were under warrenty but the labor wasnt im just going to run this truck until something breaks completely someone told me the problem could be fuel pump its a cheaper option but its working so im going to do what your doing im just going to run this truck.. thanks again bro
It’s not a oring problem, it’s combustion is making its way back through the nozzle of the injector body. Detroit has known about this problem for a while with their reman injectors. Another possibility could be where the copper washer seats on the injector cup not be flat enough to keep gases in combustion chamber.

Mine has been like this for going on 3 years and I’m still running it like this. It’s still doing the job

Looks like you added waste oil to your tanks
