For those who don't know: Team Silent was working on their own SH5 around 2004-2007, and that game was centered around create "daylight horror" inspired by movies like Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Jacobs Ladder, and it was going to show a sunny version of Silent Hill with living people that will slowly deteriorate with time. Such game was likely going to use the script Takayoshi Sato originally made for SH3 before leaving Konami, and was a story with a character similar to James, Eddie, or Angela, a tormented person called to the town for a specific reason. But Konami cancelled the project, disbanded the team and give us Homecoming instead.
@@JayEdgar0409 It could happen, but won't be the same without the team that made SH4 who were the ones making SH5 (Masahiro Ito and Hiroyuki Owaku weren't part of such team btw). SH4 team had one of the most creative visions for horror I've seen in videogames. They would have succeded with this concept.
This is probably how I imagine that proposed 5th team silent game looking like. The one set during the day time. You'd think it'd look fine now. But the clouds, the dilapidation. It still feels off, more so now cause people really should be around. But they're not. At least with the fog and rain, there's a reason why they'd be inside.
They can also make it so we first play as someone like Laura, innocent, free from darkness, but wants to save another who can't let go of past grudges and thus trapped in the otherworld. Though personally it may not sit well with me, because maybe the "daylight" gameplay might be boring, perfectly safe, and laced with exposition. Unless a twist comes along later, where the daylight character gets wrathful and the vengeful character gets redeemed that the town forces them to switch places, both in location and with regards to who is saving who.
This is how the city would look like after completing "Leave" ending but without fog, we can assume that Silent Hill is still depicted as an abandoned and decayed city for a long time.
Afterall Silent Hill is supposed to be a vacation spot... That means beautiful. The town in itself is a beautiful place but is further shaped and affected by the ones who view it. Thier fears, guilt, sins, horrors...

And Silent Hill is shown almost as sunny as here in those moments of the movie.
home coming is 5. downpour is 6. there are no new games or remakes planed currently. they are looking to see how this sells. if its a big hit they may consider doing the 1st game as a remake as stated during the making of this one
