do you know what’s even more annoying? when you’re new to skating so you hold onto the wall for support as you go round and the people behind you get annoyed. if your such a pro and want to go faster, you go towards the inside of the rink, or just go around.
Yeah! If you don't need the railing to stay up, you shouldn't be at the sides. The ice in the middle is nicer anyway, so it doesn't even make sense to stick around the sides.
i understand this completely and the people being genuinely upset should def move in closer, but i dont want to go in a perpetual circle. It hurts my feet to not go straight every once in a while. I get u can't stand up with out holding on but i promise we arent all assholes lol.

It's just kind of dangerous because they skate right in front of you from the side since they are usually not able to look out for themselves. It's especially bad if you are a beginner skater and have problems with stopping, it can cause dangerous situations if a child suddenly appears in front of you. I am not saying it's the children's fault though (because they just don't know better at that age) but it can definitely be a problem. Some adults also do it, skate with these support items in front of you from the side without looking out. It can cause uncomfortable situations for both sides.
